A Muslim convert planned to detonate a dirty bomb and launch an attack on London's Tube, a court has been told.Former Hindu Dhiren Barot, 34, from London, plotted "massive explosions" in the US and UK and synchronised attacks.
Barot, who last month admitted conspiracy to murder, wanted to pack limousines with gas cylinders and also use a radioactive "dirty" bomb.
Lawyers for Barot have insisted that he had neither funding nor bomb-making materials at the time he was caught.
Barot, from Kingsbury in north-west London, described by prosecutors as "a member or close associate" of al-Qaeda is to be sentenced on Tuesday.
"The plan was to carry out massive explosions here and in the USA, the principal object being to kill hundreds, if not thousands, of innocent people without warning," prosecutor Edmund Lawson QC told Woolwich Crown Court.
"Lawyers for Barot have insisted that he had neither funding nor bomb-making materials at the time he was caught."

If you look closer, those in public office, who are on tax-payer's payroll, and carry a responsibility of public-safety, are the real sell-outs/traitors. Public servents cannot be let away with mere "ignorance" as their "ignorance" is also, "dereliction of duty", putting lives in danger. My poitn is public servants, who have taken an oath to serve the public, and are on public payroll, should be held to a higher standard than public that depends on these public servants, AND pay their salaries.

I have recently watched two documentaries about Islam,"Obsession" on Fox and "Islam-what the west needs to know",which i purchased from Amazon.
Obsession was a good,solid production,interesting,simple enough for the average american to understand,it had the right tone,the right images the right everything,and it has generated the right kind of reaction from everybody i know . On the other hand i was very dissapointed by the second documentary...Robert Spencer,Serge Trifkovic and Bat Ye`or are all knowledgeable people,the piece was very well documented and informative,but presented in a totally uninteresting way.
People sitting in arm chairs,reading passages from the koran or other islamic scriptures,in a monotone voice,illustration was very poor,the whole thing failed to capture my attention.
It was more that the average american with the average attention span could digest in one sitting,it was a book material to read,rather than a dvd material,to watch.
What i`m` trying to say here is,for instance,Bat Ye`or is a fantastic scholar of islam,her books are treasures of information,but she hardly makes a good apearance for a dvd.. I will continue to buy all of Robert`s books and i will support the antijihadist movement any way i can,i just wish the vast talent and knowledge of Robert Spencer will be put to a more efficient use in future documentaries.

Going by a fair estimate, over 80% population of Afghanistan (Hindus and Buddhists) and over 99% of Pakistan and Bangladesh are descendants of Hindu converts at the point of the sword!
