I had a horrible nightmare last night and it's coming back to me now.. I've been feeling all gloomy despite the bright sunshine outside.. as if it is about to disappear at any moment..

I saw the non-islamic peoples of the world herded toward the "tent if islam".. right out of Heironymous Bosch.. anyone who didn't move fast enough was lashed or killed. The men who came out of the tent came out doing the goose step and doing roman salutes to noone in particular [like emptyheaded robots] all of them sporting those nasty beards and scrubs that the enemy wears.. the women who went in as normal persons came out the other end as bagged clones.

It was disgusting.. the sky was dark and brooding.. truly an endtimes vision.. like the end of the Matrix. But we don't have a Neo to handle our business here.

What will future archaelogists find..? Will there be anything left at all? What if aliens come to this planet after the islamists have destroyed everything in their wake? Will they even be able to discern that the barren wasteland they encounter was once home to flourishing intelligent life?

I sure hope this is all just a bad dream.

I have to say that I too was surprised by how insistent the 'tiny minority' of Muslims claim was repeated, even in this film purporting to expose the dire threat posed by radical Islam. Was it Alan Dershowitz (?) who kept saying that a "vast, vast, vast" majority of Muslims are not radical nor wish to engage in jihad, something like that. But if that is the case and we're only dealing with such a "tiny minority", then what's so scary about that? A tiny minority will not threaten us. Unfortunately it's no tiny minority much as I would like for it to be.

Having said that... showing extended clips of this film, interspersed with in-studio commentary and interviews, and giving the topic this kind of mainstream exposure, IS PROGRESS! Fox is airing this program FOUR TIMES this weekend for a total of 4 hours. It aired last weekend too i think.

Let's hope that Fox isn't just trying to scare people into voting Republican on Tuesday and then will go back to largely ignoring the threat.

The "Obsession" film is not perfect but it does have some very effective sections, especially in showing the hate-filled religious propaganda which is spewed out of Iranian, and Arab TV, and devoted to brainwashing to hate and make war.

So much for the "jihad is simply an inner struggle" crap. So was "Mein Kampf" as one commentator pointed out.

Although America is certainly doing business with Arab nations that does not mean it does so in support of Islamic movements. One criticism that you MIGHT have legitimately brought up is that the US government is not showing or acting with a clear understanding of Islam's brutal and treacherous nature, and you missed that one by a mile.

I think you have intentionally misread US intentions for rhetorical effect. To take one example, Afghanistan in the late 1970s:
the US was not supporting islamic jihad per se in Afghanistan its actions in Afghanistan as you have disingenously stated, rather the US government was attempting to thwart Soviet expansionism in Asia and bring the Cold War to a close. I see nothing wrong with that. If you are not an American you do not comprehend the toll the Cold War was taking an American society; if you are a leftist it's doubtless you would care.

Communism, having slaughtered more than 100 million persons in the twentieth century is itself a dangerous ideology that is not that much of an improvement over Islam, really.

In addition, it was Afghanistan's (Islamic or not) sovereign rights as a nation that were being violated at that time by the Russians. The US in fact had to work with what was available at that time (Wahhabist political refugees from Egypt and Arabia) to force Russian aggression back, and in hindsight that was not such a good idea. It is easy to make harsh statements of any policies at a later date because witht he passwage of time more information comes available. But you omit the point that the Afghanis, even if Muslim do have rights under internation law and the Russkies chose to transgress against them for no ostensibly good reasons and aggraavate the Cold War.

So for you to label this and similar actions by the American government as US support of an Islamic movement is way out of line and highly misleading.
