I'm pleased to see that Iran's latest 'elections' have demonstrated a growing dissatisfaction with Ahmadinnerjacket's radical views. But I wonder if this slight renounciation of his and the ruling Imams' views will cause the militaries of America or Israel to delay the bombing of Iran, which must eventually happen, I feel.

What a surprise it will be, when instead of Britian, America or Israel going the way of the Egyptian Pharaohs, it is Tehran going the way of the 1945 Japanese.

There's one thing that worries me deeply - the very high growth rate of the Muslim population worldwide and the continuing demographic decline and death of Western nations, most obviously Europe.
Will there ever be a chance for Muslims to be secularized or will they demographically overrun the world and change the world instead? In democracies, only votes and majorities matter, and once Muslims cross 50% - well, look up the history of Lebanon, a formerly Christian country.

IMHO, there will be a BIG confrontation in the very near future and there will be a LOT less muslims in the world. Strategically, they are pushing too hard and too fast.

Islam is nothing more than ancient truth cloaked in a sacred cow outfit. If Muslims REALLY want control of this world, they must provide proof that the concept of their faith is reality. Without such proof, there is no rational reason to respect the world view of any enterprising Muslim. I for one claim Allah to be a non-existent construct of a long extinct desert dweller. It's not hard to find false the concept of "Allah" under scientific, philosophical or even rational scrutiny.

Muslims endeared to their fundamental roots will murder to protect this world view right up until the very moment the world ignores their demands that their god be worshiped. Shame them for their belief in a myth and they will cease to act. The defeat of this enemy will be nothing short of the declaration that Allah has never existed and trillions (if not quadrillions) of lives throughout human history have lived a romantic lie that must be promptly reversed in favor of logical reality.

It may take a generation or two but in light of such incredible religious violence, I see no reason not challenge Muslim children to question and challenge their faith by teaching testable and repeatable truths that are contradictory to Islam. What is contradictory in Islam? Take your pick, Islam is a train wreck of ancient pseudo-sciences and non-truths.

Furthermore, historic bloodshed and the falsifiable facts regarding what many Muslims believe true should be "rubbed in the noses" of Islamic believers. Likewise as technology expands, the education levels of children of Muslim children in developing countries will give up much of what Islam holds true. It's only a matter of time...and a matter of intellectual resistance.

It would be interesting to see Imams and other Islamic scholars step up and defend the legitimacy of their faith and the existence/presence of "Allah" against say... Victor Stenger, Sam Harris, Richard Dawkins or other aggressive atheists/transhumanists.

Surely Allah can accept such a simple challenge to his very being. Right Allah? Allah? Are you there dude? Hmmm, the lights are off, probably doesn't exist.

A very important point is that islam is a different culture than yours.(I'm assuming you are a westerner.)
I know Muslims first hand - they are TAUGHT TO DISREGARD CRITICAL THINKING AND ARE ENCOURAGED TO BE FATALISTIC.
Perhaps this is one of the less obvious teachings in the dungheap that is Islam. A Muslim is generally intellectually lazy - he is taught that critical thinking will lead to the loss of faith - 'Imaan' - and the fear of Hellfire - ridiculous to us but very real to him - keeps him away from freethinkers.
He says 'Inshallah' - God willing - to any and every little matter. He does not believe he can control his life or future through rationality or imagination. He is, in short, an Allahbot - created to 'be a slave to Allah who created mankind only so that He might be worshipped' - in the words of that testament to evil the Koran.
So, you know, it's really, really hard to break through and reach them with reason - although I have succeeded in making apostates of three of them.

Yes, Pres Ahmedinejad, the Egypt of the pharaohs is long gone, It was long gone when the islamic armies conquered Egypt in the 600's, and it remained long gone during the more than a thousand years that islamic powers remained in control there. But when western powers came to control Egypt, it was re-discovered. Western scholars and investigators translated the ancient texts and uncovered ancient buildings; so that now we have a pretty good knowledge of ancient Egyptian history and culture, instead of the handful of legends and tall-tales that we had 200 years ago.
I am curious, Pres Ah as to just how much of the ancient Iranian heritage still survives in the islamic republic. Obviously the language does. But how about the history, the literature, the culture? Do Iranian students learn anything of these? Do they know who the Acheminids, the Parthians, and the Sassanians were? Or are these known simply as part of a pagan past, best forgotten. I have read that in most islamic countries the pre-islamic culture has, to a great extent, simply been poured down the memory-hole. If you are looking for a vanished civilization, Pres Ah, you can look for one a lot closer to home than the Egypt of the pharaohs.

And you don’t even need to be cruel at a personal level anymore, all that is needed to be done is to flip a few switches from hover depth.

Which is something that would happen long before I could see hundreds of millions of Westerners vanishing. Sometimes I think Ahmedinejad should be encouraged.

They won't, they'll leave it to their proxies in Hezbollah to do it. They'll use a Nuke in a car trunk in Tel Aviv or Haifa, it's still obvious who did it but the Iranians have a very thin shield of plausible deniability, they will then rely on their media mouthpieces in the west stopping the US and UN from retaliating. Remember the west can not stand to see a soldier break a nail in combat before pulling them out, it's been a constant issue since Somalia.

Noone can face down US or EU troops on the battlefields but the political will to send in the troops and suffer the consequences is lacking and weakening further all the time.

Considering the recent election results in Iran, Ahmadinejad may be the one to disappear. Unlike the austere Mr. A., the mullahs who really run Iran enjoy living in the material world, and have been known to remove troublesome politicians from the scene in a very permanent way.

I can speak for the monsters we've put in our closets. And it will be easier for all of us to face ourselves in the mirror now that we can stand off and deliver hellfire. You ask if the modern western man is fit enough to survive in the world and I say yes. You have to remember that the British public have never been asked if they would like to donate billions to the Gaza Strip or any other Muslim shithole. I am sure that if a referendum was held then the public would vote against sending two billion to prop up the Palis. It is the government that acts like fools, not the people.

The media tries to say everybody is fat and useless and lazy. The media wants you to believe that every teenager is down the park drinking Merrydown. Yes many are, but many of them go on to university and study physics and drink even more amounts until they grow up and become scientists and doctors. Some even do a degree in Elvis!

The media is feeding this war of ideologies or War on Terror, or what ever you would like to call it.

During the reign of King Henry VIII the rich were fat because they had a constant supply of beer and rich meats provided by the thin peasants. The peasants were thin because they had a hard life. They didn’t sit above the salt eating venison, they were lucky to get sufficient salt. The average Brit was happy to eat humble pie.

Today we are all King Henry, we can go to Tesco and come away with a banquet everyday if we like. We are all comparatively rich, the welfare state sees to that. But contrary to popular belief we are not all fat or lazy. The vast majority of us work hard.

So are we the fit enough to survive? Yes we are has a people. Are we being led by a government that understands the concept of being fit to survive? No we are not.

The great thing about democracy is you get to choose. Labour are doomed because democracy works and eventually we will get the government we deserve.

Democracy works because when it goes awry the people can fix it. Islam is doomed because it chooses fanatics and money grabbers who can show strength. There is no intelligence in strong men, they stagnate and become liabilities, just like Saddam.

Localmalcontent, Ahmad-in-jihad inspires Islamic extremists with his messianic ravings. It doesn't matter whether what he says is true or not; he need only inspire enough of his fellow lunatics to sally forth with their rusty sabers and attack Christians, Hindus and other non-Muslims and his cause is furthered by the spread of terror.

With every threat he gains more media coverage and becomes more emboldened. He threatens to destroy entire nations and commit genocide based upon religious quackery. But, I have yet to hear much of the media speak out about the pedophile prophet and his legacy of blood and guts. The media is afraid of Islam and so are our politicians (except Rep. Goode!). Instead, the media attacks President Bush for embroiling us in the Middle East. No one every says, "Islam is evil." The message is "Islam, one of the world's greatest religions."

As for Blair and the rest of our leaders, I pray for the day when they actually defeat this religion of hate in their own countries. Civilized or civilsed men like Tony Blair eschew war and love peace and law. Men like Blair believe reason can win out; Islam, as The Pope so diplomatically tried to point out, is practiced without reason. In America, we are beginning to see Islamic clerics being exposed for the hatemongers and terrorists supporters that they are. Their goal is to infiltrate our government, our military, recruit in our prisons, our universities.

There is nothing irrational in fearing Islam's aims. Ask Daniel Pearl. Ask Nick Berg. Ask that innocent aide worker (whose name escapes me) why she had to die for Islam?

This is more than just a threat to the West (although it is that, also). It presents a view of the world alien to ours.

The Qu'ran is full of references to ruins and disappeared civilizations. I'm sure this was true of Dark Ages Arabia--the abandoned buildings and towns of the Pharoanic Egyptians, the Ptolemaic Greeks and the Romans, among others.

The Qu'ran makes it clear that Muslims are not to show any curiosity about these obviously rich and sophisticated cultures. They should just regard their existance as cautionary tales as to the uselessness of trying to establish anything useful or beautiful.

Rather than suggesting that Muslims attempt to create anything of their own, the text suggests they live in abject poverty except for what they can loot from their more productive neighbors, or exploit from those same neighbors' labor as slaves or dhimmis.
