ISLAM QALA, Afghanistan — Two years ago, foreign engineers built a new highway through the desert of western Afghanistan, past this ancient trading post and on to the outside world. Nearby, they strung a high-voltage power line and laid a fiber-optic cable, marked with red posts, that provides telephone and Internet access to the region.The modernization comes with a message. Every 5 to 10 miles, road signs offer quotations from the Koran. "Forgive us, God," declares one. "God is clear to everyone," says another. A graceful mosque rises roadside, with a green glass dome and Koranic inscriptions in blue tile. The style is unmistakably Iranian.
All of this is fruit of Iran's drive to become a bigger player in Afghanistan, as it exploits new opportunities to spread its influence and ideas farther across the Middle East.
The rise of Hezbollah, with Iran's support, has demonstrated the extent of Tehran's sway in Lebanon, and the American toppling of Saddam Hussein has allowed it to expand its influence in Iraq. Iran has been making inroads into Afghanistan, as well. During the tumultuous 1980s and '90s, Iran shipped money and arms to groups fighting first the Soviet occupation and later the Taliban government. But since the United States and its allies ousted the Taliban in 2001, Iran has taken advantage of the central government's weakness to pursue a more nuanced strategy: part reconstruction, part education and part propaganda.

In the meantime, the Christians will raise the crucifix and refer the victory to it. At this, a Muslim will become angry, and will pull the crucifix down, at which, the Christians will unite breaking all treaties with the Muslims.The Christians will demand their wanted people, [*Note:Osama and his supporters were wanted by America ]to which the Muslims will answer:
"By Allah! They are our brothers. We will never hand them over."[*Note:Mulla Omar refused to give them to America] This will start the war. One-third Muslims will run away. Their ‘Tawbah’ (Repentance) will never be accepted. One-third will be killed. [*Note:Many Talibanis and Alqaeda members were martyred]They will be the best 'Shaheed' (martyrs) near Allah. The remaining one-third will gain victory,[*Note:This is yet to happen] until, under the leadership of Imam Mehdi, they will fight against Kufr (non-believers). This group will belong to Khurasan (ancient name for Afghanistan). They will be wearing black turbans. People will rise up from the East who will keep on coming forward, trampling the ground under the feet, to the aid of Imam Mahdi (Alayhis-Salaam) to help establish his government. (Ibn Majah)
From Khurasan will emerge black flags, whom none will be able to turn back (and they, the flag bearers, will continue moving forward) till they reach Illya (Jerusalem) and embed their flags into its earth (Tirmizi)
This is nothing new to those that have operated in Afghanistan over the past few years. Iran has funded Ismail Khan in Herat with heavy weaponry, established a robust intelligence network there and has also purchased a large amount of real estate as well. This is the reason the Taliban had no significant presence in that part of the country. Another factor of Iranian influence in Western Afghanistan is with the media from within Iran dominating broadcasts into that region with blatant propaganda concerning US activities in country. Radio Mashad, etc.
Watch the show folks. The scriptures tell us that there will be a major war in the ME. The only real GOD of the scriptures will win this war - not the false demonic moon god of islam.
FOX had a segment on this topic with a ‘special advisor’ to the President. The advisor viewed this as a positive sign as Iran can counterbalance Al Qaeda. The interviewer had to coax him to acknowledge a tie between Iran and Hezbollah. I offer my thoughts to the Administration, not as a paid advisor, but as a concerned Citizen:

Islam = Sunni, Shia, and others.
Iran is Shia and consists of a military arm and political arm. The military arm is called Hezbollah and is an extension of the political arm. Iraq will become Shia.
Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and others are Sunni. They consist of a military arm and political arm. The military arm is called Al Qaeda and is an extension of the political arm.
The Sunni and Shia don’t like each other and are in conflict. But both are bound by Islam to offer Infidels Dhimmitude, or conversion, or death. They have limited amount of energy and can either expend it against each other or against us.
Know it or not, the vast majority of Americans do not want to be forced to choose between the three options. Not all Muslims in America share the same American dream as you and me.

Pope meets Iranian foreign minister at Vatican

Pope Benedict XVI met on Wednesday with Iran's foreign minister and received a message from President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Vatican said.
The Vatican did not release details of the content of Ahmadinejad's letter, but Iran's state-run IRNA news agency said the note focused on Saturday's UN Security Council resolution imposing sanctions on Tehran, in the standoff over Iran's nuclear program.
Benedict and Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki met briefly after the Pope's general audience at the Vatican's Paul VI hall, the Vatican said.
During the talks, the Pope "reaffirmed the role that the Holy See intends to carry out for world peace, not as a political authority but as a religious and moral one... so that peoples' problems will always be solved in dialogue, mutual understanding and peace," the Vatican said in a statement.

Somewhere I ran across some supposedly newly found writings of good old Nostradamis. Not that I buy his stuff, but he did manage to hit the button on some things that have come to pass.
Anyway the writings supposedly say that a psychotic mideastern leader would miss Israel with a nuke and put it in the Med. Destroying all sea life and devastating Italy.
By the way the website claims this writings were in the hands of the Vatican all this time!!

I think, like all the other world leaders that meet with the Pope (and we see this frequently) that they must be there for spiritual counselling....to confess their sins and get right with God. This seems strange for a Muslim wouldn't you say? I wonder why world leaders do not meet with other well-known Christian leaders?
The Vatican says in the above article that the Pope is a spiritual leader - not a political authority, so then he must not have political influence.
