Trinity Presbyterian Church can sell property to whomever it wishes. But it is unlikely in the extreme that as they seized this opportunity for "interfaith dialogue and friendship," that they asked any questions, or received any information, about who is funding this Islamic Association, or what they will be teaching there, or what they think about Sharia and the possibility of Muslims living peacefully as equals with non-Muslims on an indefinite basis.
No one would dare ask such questions. To do so would be unfriendly, unwelcoming. But unfortunately they must be asked. There is plenty of evidence of jihad activity and the teaching of Islamic supremacism in American mosques and Islamic schools. See the Freedom House report of 2005.
"Islamic symbol replaces cross after sale of PCUSA church: Officials spurn offers from Christian groups," by Gary Miller in The Layman, with thanks to Foreign:
In the spring of 2005, First Presbyterian Church and John Knox Presbyterian Church of Bossier City, La., merged to form Trinity Presbyterian Church. In January of 2006, Trinity Church sold a piece of property to the Shreveport/Bossier City Islamic Association. That property consisted of a sanctuary building, office space, a fellowship hall and an educational wing. The congregation gained $350,000. Their asking price was the appraised value of $375,000.
According to its co-pastor, Rev. Beth Sentell, they rejected two other offers. Both offers were from Christians. One buyer wanted to house an outreach program to the poor and homeless, the other needed space for worship and evangelistic outreach to the community....
Sentell is, incidentally, the current chair of the presbytery’s administrative council. Sentell said two considerations influenced their decision to sell the church plant to the Islamic Society. First was the amount of money offered, second was the opportunity to engage in interfaith dialogue and friendship.
She and her husband, Dr. Web Sentell, have since attended a lecture on Islam at the former Presbyterian facility and they plan to invite the Islamic congregation and its imam to a church supper where the imam will field questions.
Dr. Sentell said, “We worship the same God, the God of Abraham.” He claims the sale was part of God’s plan to help advance mutual respect. The imam has offered to teach him Arabic. Dr. Sentell, a psychologist working at Barksdale Air Force Base, is “seriously considering” his offer to learn the language of the Koran.
Rev. J. Daniel Hignight is the co-pastor of Trinity Presbyterian Church and the stated clerk for Pines Presbytery. Hignight conferred on several occasions with Mark Tammen, associate stated clerk of the Office of the General Assembly. Tammen guided him regarding the merger and confirmed that Trinity Church had the right to sell the property without presbytery’s approval.
Hignight could not recall if he had mentioned to Tammen that the buyer was an Islamic Association. Hignight thought they could not legally refuse any offer on the basis of religion. He recounted a meeting with the imam where they agreed it was “providential” they came together as buyer and seller.
When asked if he would ever seek to lead a member of the Islamic Society to Jesus Christ, Hignight said, “I don’t feel a particular need to convert them to Christianity.” He declared they are each “children of Abraham,” a view the 2006 General Assembly rejected.
The spire of the former First Presbyterian Church of Bossier City, Louisiana once lifted high the cross. It now makes visible the symbol of the star and crescent which was once a central emblem of Islamic conquest.
“We worship the same God, the God of Abraham.
My pet peeve.....NO WE DO NOT
"... which was once a central emblem of Islamic conquest."
And still is.
First was the amount of money offered
"She and her husband, Dr. Web Sentell, have since attended a lecture on Islam at the former Presbyterian facility and they plan to invite the Islamic congregation and its imam to a church supper where the imam will field questions".
And if pork is accidently served, then what? A beating, like that Muslim legislator in the Phillipines gave a cook last month? These misguided fools might actually see the light about this dialogue nonsense after receiving a good thrashing. I hope the imam brings a cane along, in case he does get insulted and can administer correction.
The problem is people think that "if we're just nice to them, they'll see we're nice too and then we'll all get along."
For people like these Presbyterians and the millions of similar people around the world, it's all fuzzy bunnies and puppy dogs. They don't see the reality of the rottweiler and the mutant Bugs Bunny around the corner.
And no...the "god" of the RoP is NOT the God of Abraham, ISSAC, and Jacob as revealed in the HOLY Scriptures, not the UNHOLY one of Mighty Mo.
well all they have to do to offend Muslims is serve Boudin which is a Rice and pork sausage and crawfish but like all .French Cajuns are originally from the province of Qu♥bec in Canada after they left for Louisiana will still a French possession and the British and conquered Qu♥bec on the planes of Abraham and French have always tended to cut off their noses to spite their faces.
Sentell said two considerations influenced their decision to sell the church plant to the Islamic Society. First was the amount of money offered, second was the opportunity to engage in interfaith dialogue and friendship.
SOMEONE should point out that Muslims engage in interfaith dialogue in terms of bullets and bombs and that their idea of friendship usually include a poll tax and becoming a second class citizen.

Traitors, wherever a mosque is planted becomes islam forever. I hope they live to realize just what they have done.
The roots of a mosque grow all the way to hell.
Sorry for seeing the dark humor in it, but events
like this make me think that maybe it's not just
Jewish groups that are infected with this bizarre
multicult PC meme.
Then again, Presbyterians are mostly like Reform
Jews, right? More of a social club and less of
a religion. Still, you'd have imagined that being
in Louisiana they'd be a bit more Christian. Of
course, they couldn't sell the property to an
evangelical group because they might evangelize,
and we all know what a horror that is! Good
heavens, someone might ask me if I've been saved,
and I'd much rather have my head sawed off...
Wasn't Abraham the one who took sexual advantage of his slave girl and then tossed her and her son into the desert to die?
I thought Christianity revolved around the good from Christ not the bad examples from the Old Testament.
But I'm not up on all that so I could be wrong.
Who's the one that tried to kill his son to prove his love for God? I'm sure the jihadi's worship him too.
How stupid can Americans—particularly liberal Christians —be?
Sending money to the poor-little-Palestinians and now this!
What these puddin-heads need is to be locked-in for a weekend, oh I mean go on a retreat, and be made to listen to adhan issued in monotone over multiple loudspeakers by multiple muezzins five times a day all weekend and in between those calls to prayer, no singing of the glorious Negro spirituals, just listenin' -- listenin' to readings of all the poetic passages from the Qur'an about friendship with the People of the Book --betcha that'd get em holdin' church bazaars the very next weekend, sellin' Mo Voodoo Dolls to raise money for churches *and* bibles -- bibles to place in each empty drawer in each Bossier City hotel room where a Gideon use to be.
How stupid can Americans—particularly liberal Christians —be?
Disappointing short-sighted, unprincipled decision.
Some points to clarify:
First: this church is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. (PCUSA), the large, mainline denomination which does, unfortunately, lean left on many issues. The Layman is a (mostly) evangelical newspaper within the PCUSA.
Secondly: (this is for Root_Cause), the PCUSA does NOT represent all Presbyterians. I am a member of a smaller, evangelical presbyterian denomination. Our membership would be just as disturbed and disgusted as of you were.
Thirdly: for all of you who are members of churches of any denomination, we must be alert to the dhimmitude creeping into American churches. We may see it in a few isolated incidents like this, but it threatens us nonetheless. I was sickened to hear a church turn down other Christian groups hoping to do outreach for this "interfaith opportunity".
I left the PCUSA six years ago. Since then they've sunk to new lows, including voting to divest from Israel at a general assembly (I believe it was in 2005).
Keep your eyes and ears open, friends.
Can we get rid of this "Abrahamic faith" BS? It's just a way of delegitimizing Christianity.
Are these Louisianian Christians "elites" or just ordinary Americans?
Another handful of bankers.
Sometimes my lips don't quite touch when I say the letter "b".
Although muslims do have lineage to abraham, they do not worship the same god as christians and the jews.
If muslims really believed in the same god as the christians and the jews, they would not have the pagan symbols of the moon and the star. The crescent is the sign of the ancient babylonian god SIN. Mohammed's tribe worshipped the moon. The celebration of Ramadan is based on the phases of the moon.
The Morning star which fell down from heaven is actually Lucifer. Lucifer is also known as the angel of light, the deceiver.

I'm afraid not. The Islamaniacs must steal everything from others and twist things to their own nefarious uses. The only original thought that's come from Islam is the "religious" legitimacy granted to all depravity Muslims like to engage in. Everything else was simply taken from Christians and Jews.
Sir Henry Morgan
WECOME BACK. Your input is valued.
I think they've confused being a Christian church with being a non-denominational social service agency.
In January of 2006, Trinity Church sold a piece of property to the Shreveport/Bossier City Islamic Association.
Is this anything like Chamberlain giving up Czechoslovakia to the Nazis?
Probably not, but the thought crossed my mind.
Why, thank you Sarge. That did make me feel welcome - Americans are good at that, in my experience. I pop in a couple of times every day, ditto JW. And occasionally I comment. I actually thought for quite a long time that you'd dropped off. Seems we may just have been following different threads.
I once spent five years in a unit where I was constantly "on the road" ie on detachments to different other units. then one time after a few years I found myself back at base for a couple of weeks, and noticed a face I'd never seen before. When I asked who the new man was, I was told he'd been part of the unit for longer than me. We had just never crossed paths on our various detachments and visits back to base. It happens. seems to have happened here too.
I've been busy as anything with my own stuff, and because I've just spent a month on a local assignment here where I live (it went down very well when I presented it to an audience. Wasn't as good as "Immigration Gumballs", but it was somewhere lower down the same league. - "should have been a teacher", the organiser said. Beam beam.)I've been neglecting other stuff including my own site, which I've got to get back to work on now. I have it in mind to focus on Pakistan for an essay.
We'll win, though I reckon it's gone past the point, pace 1936, where we could have won quick and clean.
PS I've also been having a lot of trouble with my computer. I think I got hacked ... again ... and I lost a lot of stuff. Sometimes stuff works, sometimes it doesn't.
SOMEBODY BET ME!!
"When asked if he would ever seek to lead a member of the Islamic Society to Jesus Christ, Hignight said, 'I don’t feel a particular need to convert them to Christianity.'"
I wonder whether members of the Islamic Society will try to lead members of Trinity Christian Church to Mohammad.
Anybody wanna put some money on it?
You might think this OT - but this particular subject is never OT ...
While we have our attention focused on the frontal assault - Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran, Gaza etc, aeroplanes flying into buildings, Pakis exploding on trains, we're failing to see their flanking movement ... and it's the flanking movement that's really dangerous, as flanking movements always are.
The following is taken from an Indian website, and was written about ten years ago. No, that doesn't make it outdated - what's ten years in a war that's been going on for not far short of one and a half thousand years?
3.4. The Muslim growth rate worldwide
The same trend as witnessed in India is conspicuous at the international level: Muslim countries are among the champions of demographic growth. The economic explanation for high and low birthrates breaks down when confronted with the figures for Muslim countries: the rich and orthodox Saudi Arabs procreate much faster than the relatively poor but more secularized Turks.
The yearbooks of the Encyclopedia Brittannica give a wealth of countrywise data, including the population's doubling‑rate, which is a more accurate indicator of effective demographic growth than the birth rate. It turns out that no Muslim country has a markedly lower growth rate than India. Indonesia, Turkey and Tunisia are at about the same level as India, which is already seen by many as a demographic disaster area itself (doubling in ca. 33 years). It is no coincidence that these are the three most secularized Muslim countries.[15] The more Islamic a country, the higher the birthrate: Iran, Jordan, Lybia, Kuwait and Eritrea double their populations in 20 years or less, up to twice as fast as India.[16]
The Arabs are the champions: "In no Arab country does the population increase at a rate lower than 2.5% per year. In practically every Arab country, more than 4 inhabitants in 10 are youngsters below 15."[17] Pakistan is Asia's fastest growing non-Arab country, doubling its population every 24 years.[18] No country is known to have a higher birth‑rate among non‑Muslims than among Muslims, but countries where the opposite is true are numerous.[19] The starkest differential is probably found in the European countries. Thus, to use another demographic indicator, the percentage of the under-25 age group in Britain is 33 for natives, 48 for Indians (mostly Hindus) and Caribbeans, 60 for Pakistanis and 63 for Bangladeshis.[20] A similar indicator for the Subcontinent: the under-15 constitute 46.3% in Pakistan, 45.1% in Bangladesh, and 35.2% in India.[21]
In Belgium, the average native couple (Christian or secular) has 1.7 children, the immigrant Moroccan couple (Muslim) has 3.25 children, i.e. nearly twice as many.[22] About American Islam, a Pakistani observer makes an estimate for the year 2,000: "The US (...) may by then become the 14th or 15th 'largest Islamic country'. Islam, in fact, is the fastest growing religion in the US". Though the growth is largely due to immigration, he also sees "a higher birth rate" as "a major factor".[23]

We have to stop all immigration, all aid, and force them to face the consequences of breeding like rabbits. Nasseem - we have you all sussed.
Why does everyone think they're building all those arm depots .... sorry, mosques? It's for all the future immigrants.
We have to stop all immigration, all aid, and force them to face the consequences of breeding like rabbits. Nasseem - we have you all sussed.
......Can we get an AMEN!!!!!
AMEN!!!!!
This question is for Root_Cause if you come back to the posts-- Why is there dhimmitude in so many Jewish groups? I've always wondered.
Anyone else have any theories?
(I'm a protestant Christian, so I have a few ideas of why so many churches are infected with it.)
When reading a story like this it is impossible for a thinking person to avoid a feeling of dismay. This is armor plated stupidity at its worst.
Saying "nice kitty" to a mountain lion will not prevent it from eating you.
What this case sad is the fact that the members of the church group are the only ones interested in interfaith dialogue. the Muslims may give the appearance of also being interested in interfaith dialogue, but what they really want is to convert the members of the church group to Islam.
The PCUSA is a shell of a church anyway. The foolish woman "pastor" wants to appear all lovey-dovey and "open"; but is one of the people who is selling out everything that made her possible.
The Spirit of God expressly says that in the last days many will depart from the faith.
Having been temporarily exiled in Shreveport/Bossier due to hurricane Katrina, I can personally say the area is hardly immune from the occasional PC mindset. Even the constant, beautiful appearance of B-52's on daily flights from Barksdale airforce base was not enough to keep a disgrunted Mohhhameed with a Wisconsin plate from nearly running me down in a Target parking lot. Guess what tune the local cops sung when presented with the license# and details of the whole episode?
That's not counting the THREE instances in which I observed women in hijabs checking out the chicked/beef section in a supermarket. On all THREE occasions, the women checked packages and exited the store empty handed. After mentioning one such occurance to management, I was told "They may be trying to shoplift, we'll keep an eye out." I had suspected something more sinister. Am I nuts?
