A two-state solution is no good as far as Hamas is concerned. Hamas wants a one-state solution. "Hamas rejects US state offer: Palestinian PM: US plan for state with temporary borders is 'unacceptable intervention,'" by Yaakov Lappin for YnetNews, with thanks to Sr. Soph:
The PA Hamas government has turned down an American proposal to form a Palestinian state in two years with temporary borders, Hamas' English language website said Tuesday night."The PA government sitting under chairmanship of premier Ismail Haneyya on Tuesday declared rejection of an American proposal to establish a Palestinian state with temporary borders within two years," the website said.
It added that Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh "described such plans as an unacceptable intervention in Palestinian internal affairs."
Haniyeh was reported as saying "that Washington should recognize the Palestinian people's legitimate rights including establishment of a fully-sovereign Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, release of all prisoners and return of refugees."
In business, you learn never to conduct negotations with a someone who has no interest in striking an honest deal.
Guess big George Dubya ain't learned that at the Harvard Bidness School. Neither did the pinhaids over State, wherever they come from.
The permanent solution is simply not in the vocabulary and conceptual framework of the UN and Western understanding of the situation. I like to call it the Running of the Bulldozers. I don't think we'll get there unless the fast jihad turns up about 3 orders of magnitude.
When you don't know what to do, when you cannot or will not begin to understand the belief-system of Islam and how it enslaves mentally so many, and ensnares still others who, out of embarrassment, out of fear, out of filial piety, accept or promote, sometimes not quite wittingly, or at least parrot, the Islamic line on everything (vide Abdullah of Jordan, who is hardly a devout Muslim), then you retreat into the past, and into the tried-and-true comforting falsehoods and nostrums and panaceas of that past.
And the panacea that Abdullah of Jordan, Mubarak of Egypt, and of course the Al-Saud are all promoting -- would you have expected otherwise? -- is to "solve" the "solvable" Israeli-Arab "problem" (that is the demure Arab way of disguising the Lesser Jihad against Israel, that has no solution)--by giving the Arabs what they, for now, claim to want, and the satisfaction of which claim will lead only to greater ones, with Israel now forced into a position of maximum peril.
It is a cruel and stupid policy, the result of an obstinate inability to see or make sense of anything, to connect the hostility toward their American liberators, by all sides in Iraq, and the failure to see how that situation could be properly exploited. It is the result of talking about the "Middle East" and talking to so-called "MIddle East experts."
The "Middle East" is only part of it. The experts to be consulted are those who have a grasp of the nature and origins and scope and instruments of Jihad, wherever those play out. They should be most concerned right now about the demographic inroads, and possible conquest, or at the very least neutralization, of Western Europe, and the transformation of that, the historic center of Western civilization, into part of the Islamic world. It is a real threat: 15,000 Muslims in the Netherlands in 1970 have become 1 million Muslims today, and the country is far more unpleasant, expensive, and dangerous for Infidels as a result -- and the same thing is true of England, of France, of Belgium, true of parts of Sweden, true of Germany, and the trouble only worsens as long as it remains unidentified and hence untreated.
Meanwhile, the Bush Administration, or its least imaginative, most stuck-in-the-past chinovniki, present us, yet again, with that dangerous and hopeless prescription for amelioration of things: the Two-State "Solution."
A farce. To be followed by a tragedy.
In public school, when I was 12 years of age, I had a paper route. Two guys from the local high school used to ambush and bully me on route. This happened about three times until I recruited about a dozen friends to help me and to hide in bushes on a day I suspected I would be attacked. When the predicted ambush did, in fact, occur, the two bullies were set upon and kicked senseless. Subsequently, I heard that they reformed and changed their ways; but it didn't matter, because they never bothered me again.

What next, Condi?
You cannot 'negotiate' with someone who wants you dead. For this reason, I hate the puppets running our government and I despise the PC liberal buttheads who are pulling their strings.
One of the MANY troubles with Islam is that once it has controlled an area for ANY length of time, Islam- by the very nature of spreading its religion by the sword - will never accept giving up that area.
Israel cannot make peace with these nutters because peace is not their goal. Their goal is to overrun Israel and rule it.
I pity the fools who are trying to force Israel to give up land or to accept homicide bombers back in its borders.
Such PC fools are working against God and God Himself will retaliate against them, but they dismiss the real threat, because thinking they are wise, they have become fools. They are too stupid to actually believe in God.
Russia has been aligning herself with Israel's enemies-Iran, Libya, and Syria-by supplying them with needed technology and equipment for their weapons programs. And future relations with the rebuilt Iraq could also affect Russia's position towards Israel.
Russia is owed at least $7 billion in Soviet-era debt by Baghdad and is seeking to protect lucrative contracts signed by Russian companies to develop Iraq's oil industry. Russia may negotiate with the new Iraqi government to write off some of Iraq's pre-war debts while still protecting Russia's interests.
With their vast natural resources and the lifting of UN sanctions, Iraq has the potential to be a future force in the Mid-East. Whatever form the new Iraqi government will take, Islam will still be that country's official religion, and Shiite and Sunni Muslim leaders are not likely to radically change their current view of Israel. Russia was among those who supported Saddam Hussein's regime and were given oil contracts in exchange.
Documents discovered in the Iraqi Oil Ministry revealed the names of some 270 prominent individuals, political parties, and corporations in 47 countries who were given Iraqi oil contracts worth millions of dollars. They were conducted under the auspices of the United Nations' "oil-for-food" program, which was designed to allow Iraq to sell oil in exchange for humanitarian goods. But the deals were in violation of UN sanctions.
The single biggest set of contracts were given to the Russian government and Russian political figures: more than 1.3 billion barrels in all-including 92 million barrels to individual officials in the office of President Vladimir Putin.
America is hostile to Iran and supportive of Israel's right to defend
itself. The possibility of a direct assault on Iran's nuclear facilities
from America cannot be ruled out. Russia has supplied Iran with nuclear technology in the first place and also entered a defense pact with Iran and Syria. China is supportive of Iran which supplies it with much of its oil.
In the middle is the EU, which is generally critical of US foreign policy
in the Middle East and of Israeli action in Lebanon, but also aware of the
dangers of a nuclear armed Iran and wanting to restrain the spread of
Islamic jihad in the Middle East and in Europe itself.

Islam grabs land forever! Right in the middle of the road is a mosque, in Mumbai. THe road has been split to go around the mosque. Muslims have grabbed that land in the name of their cult. Funny how much infidels will bend to accomodate a cult, masquarading as a religion.
Given Jimmy Carter's contention that it is Israel and Israel alone that stands in the way of a two-state solution, you'd think Haniyeh would just keep his mouth shut and let the western world maintain its mass delusion as to the "cycle of violence" attributed to "the illegal Occupation" and the "Separation Wall".
Haniyeh was reported as saying "that Washington should recognize the Palestinian people's legitimate rights including establishment of a fully-sovereign Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, release of all prisoners and return of refugees."
Anything else? While he is at it, he might as well claim Andalucia, Sicily, Rome and Delhi. All these were at one time under Muslim rule, and 'right of return' applies.

NO, no. They would like some of those real cute rifles that are being developed in the US. And those Predator thingummies- they would come in real handy. AK47's are so yester-year.
So since Hamas is a muslim "religious" party, let's see what Allah thinks about the two-state solution...
* "I will expel the Jews and Christians from the Arabian Peninsula and will not leave any but Muslims." (Hadith no. 4366, Muslim)
O believers, take not Jews and Christians
as friends, they are friends of each other,
whoso of you makes them as his friends
is one of them. God guides not the people
of the evildoers." (The Table, V: 55)
Those are they (the Jews) whom God has cursed;
he whom God has cursed,
thou will not find for him any helper
Or have a share in the kingdom?
If that is so, they do not give the people
a single date-spot ..." (Women, IV: 55)
"The last hour would not come unless the Muslims
fought and killed the Jews ... and until the Jews hid
themselves behind a stone or a wall would say:
'Muslims, the servants of Allah, there is a Jew behind
me, come and kill him."'
(Hadith no. 6985, Muslim, Vol. 4)
Seems like Allah doesn't like the two-state solution. I am going to go out on a limb and say that Hamas and other muslim "religious" parties are gonna side with Allah on this one.
But hey, it's not like you could have predicted the situation in Iraq by looking at muslim religious beliefs, so maybe Hamas will surprise me and tell Allah they are going to accept the two-state solution and that Allah can kiss their muslim ***
Its shameful that Olmert is surrendering to the ideas of Israel comitting suicide.
Guns and bullets are good. Better to kill each other off with.
The State Department is bending over backward to make peace. So is Olmert.
They have just about given away the Farm for free. Still, the Arabs have refused to take it.
Short of the US abandoning Israel out rightly and The Israelis pulling a Masada on a biblical scale. Nothing is going to happen, except.
The Administrations ability to pull a complete 180 with regards to Middle East policy.
The Middle East is giving us reason enough to destroy them. They are handing them to us on a Silver Platter.
It is the Press who is withholding the true ramifications of the Middle Eastern mindset. not to mention all the violence it subscribes to and carries out.
Cold hard reality would crumble the Utopian dream they have been feeding us with the last 30 years.
