Here is a consequence of Western governments' narrow focus on "terrorism," and refusal to face the reality of Islamic jihad and Sharia supremacism. Hizb ut-Tahrir wants to transform Australia into an Islamic state, but as long as they advocate doing it by peaceful means, that's just fine with Australian authorities.
Madness. Suicidal madness. If Australia and other Western countries don't figure out a way to recognize and combat the Sharia supremacism that is proceeding today by non-violent means, those Sharia supremacists will certainly one day succeed.
"Radicals can't be stopped," by Matthew Schulz in the Herald Sun, with thanks to Eatcake:
THE Federal Government says it is powerless to ban a Muslim group calling for Australia to be taken over as part of an Islamic superstate.Attorney General Phillip Ruddock said today there was not enough evidence to ban the Hizb ut-Tahrir group despite its continuing call for Australia to become part of a Caliphate or "Khilafah".
The group, already banned across the Middle East, the United Kingdom and Germany - will host a Sydney conference this month to promote an Islamic takeover.
A conference advertisement posted on internet site youtube.com shows crowds of Muslims marching, praying and protesting to dramatic and warlike music and explosions.
In what appears to be a call to arms, the video features slogans attacking the United States and capitalism, and features militant anti-Western Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad shaking his fist, before the slogan "embrace the revival"
"The Muslim world has awakened from its slumber … and is ready to resume its political destiny.
"From the darkness will emerge a new light," the video says.
Articles published on the group's website claim that Israel is an illegal state, that "Iraq is an occupied land" and its residents have a duty to resist the Coalition.
In one article dubbed "The Clash of Civilisations", an anonymous author claims a clash of Western and Islamic civilizations is inevitable, and that Muslim scriptures show Islam "has come to dominate this Earth" and that Muslims "must sacrifice everything to achieve this".
"This means we must … establish the Khilafah in order that we can challenge the capitalist nations intellectually, economically, politically and militarily until we defeat them, thus liberating their peoples from the darkness and subjugation and fulfilling our own covenant with Allah," the article says.
The site today also called on Australian muslims to come to the aid of Islamist fighters in Somalia against Ethiopian forces.
But today the Federal Attorney General Phillip Ruddock said the organisation could not be banned as a terror group under current laws.
"We looked very closely at the organisation some time ago to see whether or not it met the criteria to be banned as a terrorist organisation in Australia," he told Southern Cross radio today.
"It doesn't mean that we agree with what it's saying, but there are strict criteria for banning organisations and when those enquiries were undertaken we didn't have sufficient evidence.
Mr Ruddock said the organisation's aim of creating an Islamic state were clear in the latest video advertisement, but it had also reportedly said it wanted to do so by peaceful means.
The only way to nail H-u-T is to monitor for associations with persons and organizations who are willing to do the necessary [violent] dirty work required to resurrect the Khaliffa, because most of the planet has no interest in reverting to the 7th century social norms that H-u-T favours. If intelligence/security organizations are diligent and patient, I'm sure they'll trip H-u-T up in the net just like all the Islamic "charities" like the Holy Land Fund.
The ad for the conference is extremely warlike. Unbelievable to think such a seminar is being held in Australia !
I hope the place will be crawling with police and security people, all equipped with video cameras or tape recorders to document the hatred sure to be spewed out by seminar attendees. Maybe then the Hizb ut-Tahrir group will be banned in Australia as well.
"But today the Federal Attorney General Phillip Ruddock said the organisation could not be banned as a terror group under current laws.
What I find very ironic about this is that one of the Muslim's complaints is that laws in a democracy are subject to the whim of the electorate, rather than being set in stone like the Koranic laws.
Hint, hint, Ruddock, that means that unlike their laws, ours can be changed.
Mr Ruddock said the organisation's aim of creating an Islamic state were clear in the latest video advertisement, but it had also reportedly said it wanted to do so by peaceful means.
++Since when has an Islamic state been created peacefully?
An Australian poster had written (on another blog) that it seems to be the goal of muslims to establish a mosque in every suburb of Australia. I have not been there, so I don't know if this is true. Can some posters from Australia validate this ? Are there a lot of mosques ?
If a far gone place like Germany can ban this group then surely Australia can. Scrutinize them enough and they'll be bound to slip sooner or later.
An error in the original article: HuT isn't banned here in the UK. Indeed, there are known to be members quite senior working for the - get this - immigration Department.
"said it wanted to do so by peaceful means."
That is not what Muslims clerics and leaders say!!.
Islam is the Enemy
So, Australians go underground to fight the installation of the Caliphate. Australians have that streak of independence and non-conformability, just like the Americans had during our revolution. They can organize and undermine and do all manner of mischief to the Islamic onslaught and probably without detection. If the Federal government in Australia can't figure out that Muslims want to take over their country, they probably won't detect Australians who participate in subversive activities to prevent that from happening. Think "Christians" and "Catacombs" in Roman times.

Hi Arjun,
I guess one could safely assume that is true as it is their stated goal. Fortunately there is no mosque close to where I live but one about a half hour drive away. Anyway, I just found this piece: an update on a huge mosque proposed for South Australia.

Downer shocks Saudis with extremist-mosque linkBy Pia Akerman and Mark Dodd
January 10, 2007 01:00am
FOREIGN Minister Alexander Downer has been forced to smooth over relations with the Saudi Embassy after saying federal authorities were investigating links between Islamic extremists and mosques in Australia.
The embassy said yesterday it had been "shocked" by Mr Downer's Monday statement on ABC radio that investigators were probing possible funding from "extremist groups in Saudi Arabia" for Australian mosques.
Later, Mr Downer said the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade had "expressed a view" about an application by the Saudi Government to invest in the development of a $750,000 new mosque in the southern Adelaide suburb of Park Holme. As a result of that advice the Saudis blocked the funding.
Iraqi Kurd Warya Kanie, 39, was a member of Park Holme Mosque congregation before his capture by coalition forces in Baghdad last month for allegedly engaging in anti-coalition activities. The Saudi embassy in Canberra said officials had "no knowledge of the content of the statement of the Australian Foreign Minister".
"If there is, as the minister says, any money, it has not come from Saudi Arabia," an embassy spokesman said. "We are very strictly watching the money which goes out of Saudi Arabia, the Saudi authority I mean."
The official refused to provide information on how much Saudi funding went to Islamic centres, groups and mosques in Australia. He referred The Australian to DFAT, which in turn could provide no details.
The embassy emphasised that approval from DFAT was necessary for any Saudi financial assistance to Islamic bodies in Australia, pointing to this as "clear evidence that the funds referred to in the statement of the Australian Foreign Minister are not originated from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia".
A spokesman for Mr Downer said that a misunderstanding by the embassy over comments attributed to the minister had now been resolved.
"We have discussed this matter with the charge d'affaire at the Saudi embassy and explained there is no criticism of the Saudi Government," he said.
The embassy spokesman said he was not aware that the Islamic Society of South Australia had been expecting Saudi money for the new mosque until receiving DFAT's advice.
I wish the Saudis would hurry up an run out of oil and revert to herding goats in the desert.
Those "best of people" seem determined to spread their damned death cult worldwide before that happens though.
Yes Mike W, and we are paying them to do it to us.
They can call for Sharia all they want. We have this idea of freedom of speech here, at least partially. They can go and call for Sharia like a third of the population calls for a republic. It takes a VOTE to get a change and calling till you're blue in the face doesn't make a difference.
AS far as if there are mosques in every suburb, does a mosque have to be a huge building with a round roof? Cause if thats the case there are two in Sydney and a Ba'hai one as well. If a mosque can be like a house in a suburb then probably a lot more.
There are 300 000 Muslims in Australia which has a total population of 20 million
paying attention:
you are right; there could be any number located all over the place! They could be hiring out church and scout halls for all we know.
However I have read a post by one local muslim (on a local MSM 'blog) who says there are many more than 300,000. He said some didn't admit it in the last census and we all know what their birthrate is like.
I have no verification but have heard the figure is more like 700,000.
I guess I prefer to assume the worst-case scenario here, as with most islamic issues.
SHUTDOWN

BWAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gramfan:
In the census in August, Muslim leaders urged Muslims to identify their religion on the form, so we should get a better picture this time on the total number in Australia.
I still think its going to be around 300 000. If it is still around this number, then they do make a heck of a lot of noise for such a small proportion of the population.

300 000 Muslims in Australia is 300 000 too many.
At some stage they must be deported, otherwise civil war in the future is certain.
It is probably already too late to avoid war but better sooner than later.
They should never have been allowed into the country in the first place.
The 747's are still disgorging the Mohammedans daily at a prodigious rate at out airports.
UPDATE: The permission has been withdrawn. Let the seething begin.
I see Madduck beat me to it.
Hey Mike_W can you tell me how we can deport Muslim Australian citizens? I think we have this pesky constitution thing which gives citizens a right to live here. Damned cheek eh?
Paying attention:
I hope it is as little as 300,000. I wasn't trying to correct you, and sorry if it came across that way in case you got that impression.
You are spot on that they make a lot of noise for such a relatively small number.
Mike_W
Yes, definitely too many, and more coming. Not a good thing.
I recently noticed that we are also getting a rather large amount of Brits coming here to live.
I wonder why?
/sarcasm off
Bankstown Council has called off the seminar on the grounds that the group promotes hate.
I hope no reprisals are carried out on council members as a result of taking this stand.

Surely our constitution is not a suicide pact.
Section 128 provides that constitutional amendments must be approved by a referendum.
The referendum bill must be put to the people by the Governor-General between two and six months after passing parliament. After the constitutional amendment bill has passed both the parliamentary stage and the referendum, it then receives Royal Assent from the Governor-General. When proclaimed, it will be in effect, and the wording of the Constitution will be changed.
An exception to this process is if the amendment bill is rejected by one house of Federal Parliament. If the bill passes the first house and is rejected by the second, then after three months the first house may pass it again. If the bill is still rejected by the second house, then the Governor-General may choose to still put the bill to the people's vote.
If the people decide that Islam poses a threat to our Australian way of life, we can change the laws to protect ourselves.
We will, I've no doubt.
Hello Gramfan,
Thanks for the info. The saudis are funding big mosques over here, too. They are also giving money for the construction of tall minarets in existing ones.
does a mosque have to be a huge building with a round roof?
Posted by: payingattention
No, they can add the dome and the minarets later. Here there are plenty of small mosques in muslim ghettos in single and two storied houses. They look like ordinary homes, until one sees the muslims flocking to it when the azan (call to prayer) is wailed by the muezzin.
I recently noticed that we are also getting a rather large amount of Brits coming here to live.
I wonder why?

Gramfan, I read somewhere that the Brits are leaving in very large numbers. In 2005, around 350000 left Britain for Australia, America and Canada. The number was expected to go up in 2006. The article did not go into the reasons for this flight.
Mike_W:
Thanks for the small piece on Australian Constitutional Law. I regret my point was not clear enough apparently. Putting aside the mechanics of the legal changes required to change our constitution, how in any right mind could such an amendment be passed? Of all the referenda that have been submitted to the people, how many have actually passed? I do point out to you that it is not a simple majority required, it is a majority of the people AND a majority of states.
imHo the idea that we would pass a change to our constitution to require exclusion of significant proportion of our populace dwells in "cloud cuckoo land" (remember that one?)
Mother: That was rude.
Sydney, NSW, in John Howard's electorate, not far from the Lane Cove tunnel.
Now whats your ASL?
The attitude against Islamic agitators is slowly but surely hardening in the Anglo West. They will find it an increasingly uncomfortable place to live.
As for the existing Muslim population in Australia, most are Indonesian of origin, and are a quiet and peaceful people, Muslim by birth only and happily ignorant of the real nature of Islam. The trouble makers are the Lebanese Muslims (not the Lebanese in general - the Christian Maronites are great people). The LebMos are a policing problem - into drugs, car rebirthing etc. A New York style zero-tolerance policing action would be the best approach to this mob.
As always, the more strength we show early in the problem, the smaller it will be in the end. Islam has had its day. They just don't know it yet.
Oh and its 8 PM right now and Australian Princess is on Channel 10 in Sydney.
You want to attack me for being a Sydneysider now?
Try to write something that doesn't get deleted, Mother.
Arjun, that is certainly true in the engineering (my) profession. Seems like I come across a new English accent every other day.
Apology accepted, Mother.
MY ASS!
if i say anything about pislam they sudenly CAN do something about it!
The Australians should do another big protest like last time and just beat these idiots up!
Time to revise the laws!!
Mother you insulted me by demanding I prove my nationality to you. What was your purpose to your question, to discredit my view?
Yeah I know whats inside you mother, and it comes from a bottle... Stay in your melbourne heck hole.
