Bethlehem Christians fear neighbors

Dhimmi Christians break their silence. By Khaled Abu Toameh in the Jerusalem Post, with thanks to all who sent this in:

A number of Christian families have finally decided to break their silence and talk openly about what they describe as Muslim persecution of the Christian minority in this city.

The move comes as a result of increased attacks on Christians by Muslims over the past few months. The families said they wrote letters to Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, the Vatican, Church leaders and European governments complaining about the attacks, but their appeals have fallen on deaf ears.

According to the families, many Christians have long been afraid to complain in public about the campaign of "intimidation" for fear of retaliation by their Muslim neighbors and being branded "collaborators" with Israel.

But following an increase in attacks on Christian-owned property in the city over the past few months, some Christians are no longer afraid to talk about the ultra-sensitive issue. And they are talking openly about leaving the city.

"The situation is very dangerous," said Samir Qumsiyeh, owner of the Beit Sahur-based private Al-Mahd (Nativity) TV station. "I believe that 15 years from now there will be no Christians left in Bethlehem. Then you will need a torch to find a Christian here. This is a very sad situation."

Qumsiyeh, one of the few Christians willing to speak about the harsh conditions of their community, has been the subject of numerous death threats. His house was recently attacked with fire-bombs, but no one was hurt.

Qumsiyeh said he has documented more than 160 incidents of attacks on Christians in the area in recent years.

Shame on those Dhimmis!! I'm patiently waiting for CAIR to step up to the plate and make us understand why this is happening. I just don't understand it. Islam is the religion of peace after all. Why haven't we heard about this on National Public Radio? Oh I forget, we HAVE heard it on NPR...it's the Jews' fault.

First mistake: George Bush apologizing for calling this war a Crusade.

Muslims never create anything. They only destroy. If the Christians were smart, they would leave. Eventually, that whole area will be just another islamic dunghole

Just wait until the western mainstream media run with this story. When pigs fly that is.

The worst to suffer from being duped by the "Palestinian nation" lie are the Christians of the Land of Israel. The worst to suffer from being carried away by the false promise of pan-Arabism are the Christian Arabs. Whenever they have served the Muslims' purpose, they find to their horror that they are now disposable.

The best solution to all of these problems is
population transfer. Mohammadans should be
moved to Mohammadan states like Iraq and
Jordan, and Israel should be expanded and should
accomodate middle eastern Christians who'll be
substituted for the mohammadans moved. Then, new
laws, like the laws of Jordan which say that a
Jew can't own property, should be enacted, this
time to ensure that mohammadans can't own
property in Israel.

What the few remaining Christians need to do is, in a very public forum, call their own leaders to task and to shame for being collaborators with the Muslims. Yes, I mean certain bishops and priests, in the Roman Catholic, Episcopalian and Orthodox faiths, who have thrown in their lot with the PLO and abandoned their own flocks. The indigenous Christians don't need to attack the Muslims; they need to forcefully confront their own failed Christian leaders! Oh yes, the World Council of Churches, the Vatican and other institutions will wring their hands...but the numbers don't lie. Christianity is being erased in the Middle East, and the Holy Land may be the first to be totally purged of Christians. The failed policies of appeasement by the hierarchy will finally become evident when the Church of the Nativity becomes a home for Muslim squatters and their sheep and goats.

Why should I care about Jihad supporters being persecuted though?

I have seen article after article of them supporting all ranges of Jihadis from Hamas to Al Queda, to the Muslim Brotherhood etc etc etc.

Everytime I hear Iranian Pres. Ahmadinejad say that Isreal should be moved elsewhere - Germany for instance - it drives me insane. The Koran never mentioned Jerusalem. That myth was invented by Arab Chauvists sixty years later. The author of the Koran (and it is only the inventions of a mere mortal, anyway) never mentions the holy land, probably because Mo never thought his religion would be so successful.

Those Christians had better leave. It's terrible that they should have to leave, but it would be worse to be at the mercy of Islamania.

"Those Christians had better leave"

Why? The Muslims will just follow...Keep running and sooner or later you realize you have no where else to run to...You will end up fighting anyway....Better to fight now....

There is no doubt that Christian leaders, from the Pope down, and the Archbishops etc of the Anglican Church, as well as Fundamentalist Christians, have swallowed hook, line and sinker the nonsense of multi-faith multi-culturalism, possibly out of fear of giving offence or possibly because of the commandment to love ones neighbour and to practise charity. But soon they will be forced to confront the reality of Islam's quest for world domination and the conversion, and death of Infidels. Will we hear any apologies from them then?
