Cleric gunned down in Gaza after plea for calm

He called for an end to fighting between Hamas and Fatah, and was shot dead. By Nidal al-Mughrabi for Reuters, with thanks to all who sent this in:

GAZA (Reuters) - Unidentified gunmen shot dead a Muslim cleric after he delivered a sermon in the Gaza Strip on Friday calling for an end to fierce factional fighting between Hamas and Fatah, hospital officials and local residents said....

The Muslim cleric, who was in a car when the gunmen opened fire, was affiliated with neither Hamas nor Fatah. No group claimed responsibility for the shooting, which occurred after services at a mosque in the Maghazi refugee camp.

Residents said the cleric had sharply criticized internal fighting in his Friday sermon.

And all the while the zionist pigs are laughing while eating the bodies of their children!

sarc off/

ummmmmm no!!

They have to learn that the quran, sunnas hadithas etc. are the enemy, theirs and ours. I can't feel sad about the fact he got shot. It's just a logical development of the roots in Islam

I agree. As long as Islam has hold of a single human being, all of humanity is at risk. Should it continue on as it is now, it will be the extermination of us all, Muslims included.

Well, this behaviour is only to be expected. If you don't think peace for others, you cannot have peace with yourself. This holds true for communities as well.

When Islam urges Muslims to kill the kafirs, then it is likely (most likely) to be used by Muslims against their community. Call somebody kafir, then shoot him, that is all.

Islam is an abomination and a blight upon humanity. My disgust for this soul-destroying "ideology" knows no bounds.

He mis-understood the true Islam.
He was hijacking the religion.
He was part of the tiny minority of extremists.
He was not a true Muslim.
There was a cultural bigotry.
He was unjustly profiled.

Gaza: The arms race continues.

Serves him right. Bloody peace monger.

Anyway, he has been given the peace he wanted. The only peace Islam knows.

He made the mistake of taking sides with fatah against hamas. Those fatah bullies are no match for the hamas savages. If Israel would kindly step aside, Israel's ethereal "partner in peace" abbas will be eliminated and Israel can, if it so chooses, finally deal with reality.

>Serves him right. Bloody peace monger.

Peace monger? He was objecting to Fatah and Hamas shooting each other, not to them killing Jews.

Until the Muslims who want peace and calm figure out they are going to have to kill all the Muslims who want murder to keep their mafia style power, the Muslims for calm are going to continue assuming room temperature from a mass injection of Full Metal Jacket bullets.

this cleric was indeed confused, he was asking for peace, the brainwashed muslims are confused, so they did what they do best, is kill.

I am sure this poor ilamic cleric was one of the few honest palistians in the gaza.

If one didn't know better, one would almost think the assailants were doing this at our behest.

Back to shooting each other, you Hamas & Fatah Shahid/Fedayeen.

All of this demonstrates that the war is underground, and determined to keep it this way. Maybe if he were to survive, we could find out the why question ? Obviously, this will distract from the truth and point fingers to the West, so beit. You can't kill the snake unless it comes outta the hole.
