PARIS: A French Muslim who attacked a male gynaecologist for examining his wife just after she had given birth, saying it was against Islam, has been jailed for six months by a Paris court.
Fouad ben Moussa burst into the delivery room at a Paris hospital last November and shoved, slapped and insulted Dr Jean-Francois Oury as he examined the woman after a complicated birth, the prosecution said in court on Wednesday.
Police had to intervene to remove him.
Ben Moussa, a 23-year-old lorry driver, apologised for the attack and said he had requested a female doctor. French state hospitals comply with such requests when staffing permits but say patients must accept treatment from the doctors on duty.
"This is a public and secular place," prosecution lawyer Georges Holleaux said of the state hospital where the attack occurred. "This is not the place where one can invoke religion to get different treatment."
French media have reported cases in recent years of Muslim men barring male doctors from treating their wives, sometimes resorting to violence, but legal cases against them are rare.
France's five million Muslims make up eight per cent of the French population, Europe's largest Islamic minority.
FINE... now he is jail, he will probably demand a Qur'an, a floor mat, private quarters for praying, halal food,and will try to convert the guards....
Islam does NOT rule the world.
Six degrees of separation....and counting...separate prayer rooms, swimming times, banking systems, rules for accepting taxi fares, handshaking etiquette, driver's license photos....and then there are a whole set of issues that fall under the category of "health care." A few come to mind, no male OB/GYNs, refusal to clean hands before patient contact, special hospital gowns, yup.....France, you might as well start building those Muslim-only hospitals right now, before another 20-something irate husband is offended by the free medical care that his wife is receiving.
Good for the French. Stand up to these people, and they will fold like umbrellas.
Expect the usual appeals for non-Muslims to understand and tolerate such unique Islamic abusurdities; and for additional one-way sensitivity training.

On a sidenot she might as well convert to christianity or give up on religion, change her name, and leave town.
There are a lot of Jewish ex refugees in Toulouse who I am sure would be sympathetic to her plight.
That is of course unless she agrees with him and is herself as big an Islamofasctist in which case she deserves him.

Now what would have happened had the doctor not examined this woman and something went wrong? This crazy bastard of a husband would have run to France's version of CAIR screaming racism because the doctor refused to treat his wife after a rough pregnancy. And after a lawsuit he probably would win a few bucks. This is the true beauty of Islam-if you're in the cult of death you're almost always in a can't lose situation when living in the infidel world, at least if you're a Muslim man. If you're a Muslim woman, forget it-you CAN'T win no matter where you live.
In order to avoid the otherwise unavoidable cultural misunderstandings and unintentional offenses, Muslim patients in Europe should not be seen by non-Muslim doctors or cared for by other non-Muslim personnel. They should not be in rooms, or wards, with non-Muslims. They should, with their own funds or those donated by Saudi Arabia and the U.A.E. and Kuwait, that have trillions to spare, have special Muslims-only hospitals exhibiting the same level of care as is to be obtained in Muslim hospitals run by and for Muslims in North Africa and the Middle East.
Saudi Arabia itself (never mind the U.A.E., Kuwait, Qatar, Libya, etc.) can certainly afford, out of its Da'wa budget, and mosque-and-madrasa building-fund budget, a billion or so in initial costs, and then a billion or so a year to maintina this separate system that will avoid any possibility of offending those offendable Muslim sensibilities.
Everyone will be happy.
The only way the wife will be safe from reprisals inflicted by the husband, and other Muslime, will be to sue the hospital for failure to protect her whilst having treatment. She could then share the spoils with her husband, and they and their families and friends could then work the scam with the next, and subsequent, children. The slogan 'Make the Kuffar Pay' springs to mind.
