Jihadist caught assessing security at tech firms in Bangalore

The arrest may have averted an attack on the "Silicon Valley" of India. "Suspected militant went to Pakistan for training," from IANS:

A suspected militant, arrested by the Bangalore police Friday, had received arms training in Pakistan and had been asked to monitor IT firms' offices here, a top police official said Saturday.
'Our interrogation of the accused has revealed that he is known as Bilal Ahmed Kota alias Imran Jalal alias Salim (34) and was a resident of Sadarbal, Hazratbal in Srinagar,' Bangalore Police Commissioner N. Achuta Rao told reporters.
'His father Shamsuddin is a clerk in a private transport firm and his brother Hilal Ahmed (29) a driver in the food and civil supplies corporation, government of Jammu & Kashmir,' he said.
According to a preliminary probe by a special investigation team, the accused went to Pakistan in 2005 and met top insurgents with alleged Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) links.
It was then that he was given a satellite phone and asked to wait for instructions, police said.
'Bilal was asked to visit the offices of Wipro and Infosys as well as the Bangalore airport to find out security arrangements at these places and to report back. The mode of communication between Bilal and his superiors was through the sat phone and e-mail,' Rao said.
In November 2006, Bilal was instructed by his Pakistan-based masters to go to Pune and collect a consignment of arms and ammunition. Though he went to Pune on three-four occasions, it was only during his last trip that he received the weapons from an operative called 'Rajesh'. He returned to Hospet, about 350 km from here, with the consignment.
After sustained interrogation that concluded Saturday morning, Bilal was taken to Hampi by a police team to inspect the rented house he was staying in. A raid on his shop and house led to the seizure of one AK-56, 200 rounds of ammunition, five hand grenades, two magazines of AK-56 and a satellite phone charger.
'A month after returning from Pune with arms and ammunition, Bilal was instructed to take the consignment to Bangalore and await further orders. On his arrival here, he was intercepted by the city crime branch sleuths and taken into custody,' Rao said.
Bilal was not knew [sic] to Karnataka, as he had come to Bangalore in 1991 and got admitted to a diploma course in computer science at Acharya Polytechnic in Peenya. After completing the course in 1994, he went back to Kashmir and worked as a supervisor in a cigarette distributor's office.
'As per his statement, Bilal joined the JKLF (Jammu & Kashmir Liberation Front) in 1990 and went for arms training to Muzzaffarabad in Pakistani Kashmir.
In 2002, he came to Hampi, a world tourist heritage site near Hospet in north Karnataka, on the invitation of his cousin Fiaz Ahmed Bhat who owned a costume jewellery shop there. Since then, he has made frequent visits to Bangalore and Srinagar, Rao said.
Bilal has been remanded to police custody for two weeks for further investigations.
'With the timely arrest of Bilal, we have averted a possible terror strike in the city. We are in touch with our counterparts in Maharashtra, Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir to gather more information on the terror network,' Rao said.

So it looked like he'd integrated, when what he'd actually done was infiltrated.

All ideas about "integrating" Muslims into our societies must be discarded. They don't integrate, they infiltrate. A Fifth Column in the tuest sense of the term.

Deport them all, we can never trust them beyond those few who are out-and-out apostates.

It should be obvious that their intentions are to destroy or disrupt our Computer databases and networks. A move that WILL send us back to the stone age. We need to get the best Hackers and Virus creators in the world and cripple them before they get us.

Bangalore, India
Wipro and Infosys - primary players in outsourcing of computer systems all over the world. American (definitely) and Canadian (probably) companies are among those who have dropped their American staffs and moved software operations to India.

Attacking these firms only hurts India. What might hurt everyone is an attack on the worldwide cable systems that move data around the globe.

Rather than an attempt to destroy databases (most of which remain in their home countries), this looks more like an attack on the non-Muslim community that does this work. Grenades to destroy the work areas and ammunition to kill the people. Bangalore is almost an island within India.

"It should be obvious that their intentions are to destroy or disrupt our Computer databases and networks. A move that WILL send us back to the stone age. We need to get the best Hackers and Virus creators in the world and cripple them before they get us."

They wouldn't even have to disrupt "databases and networks". Considering how many times I've called for tech support and gotten "Tenk yu fa callink XYZ custmer servis, ma neme is "Bob"., all they'd have to do is make "support" only slightly more incomprehensible than it already is.

You're right about a Hacker and Virus Corps, but the types we need don't wear suits and the Suits in charge hate those who don't wear suits.

I am becomming more and more convinced that we cannot trust government (at least for now) to do what needs doing.

Exactly!, give those guys a real purpose. protecting our , and their way of life. they wouldn't have to hide that way.

Ditto Port of Miami. A 20yo Iraqi was caught with a trailer truck without proper papers. he stated he was alone but a search revealed another Iraqi and a Lebanese on board the cab.

Authorities found nothing too suspicious, so they say, on the truck.

I am sure this was a test.

The Woolsey report from the Center for Religious Freedom reads like the writings of Fitzgerald&Spencer.

There are a few other well-known names from the political establishment on that committee. Noone can tell me that Jorge Al-bin-Bush hasn't heard of the threat these Sowdis pose!! I bet there are colleagues and friends begging and screaming to get him to cut off these Sowdi swine.. but alas - the power of money.. Bush is really great at playing dumb bum isn't he? Give the man an Oscar!

Do you think the interrogations in Bangalore were any different than the ones in Miami?

How about Hacker and Virus Privateers? I've been thinking that Congress can grant letters of marque.
Perhaps they could grant these to Hackers to take down known jihadi computer networks and web sites.

Do you think the interrogations in Bangalore were any different than the ones in Miami?

You betcha !!!! We need those interrogators here.

Sir Henry Morgan:
"All ideas about "integrating" Muslims into our societies must be discarded. They don't integrate, they infiltrate. A Fifth Column in the tuest sense of the term".

Absolutely. Hope this wisdom dawns on all.

There is another computer data base firm in Calcutta (kolkata)Name withheld). There was only one muslim employee among other Hindus. When the employer could no longer put up with the slovenly and incompetent muslim he had to ask him to leave. In Calcutta, marxist union armtwisting is of mafia proportions. This being a Private Firm, somehow they managed to politely show him the door. Before leaving, the muslim very sedulously applied himself to sabotaging as much as he could, whatever database could be accessed. The Company fulminated in silence and had to rebuild all. For anything destructive you can always trust a muslim. No law or order anywhere...muslim is above law. And he is perennially to be "uplifted"(SIC)

Further, a paperback trashy novel dealing with call center employees' (sic)'plight' written by an Indian, predictably touted as the "bestseller" has such a bizarre message. Its anti-Western (read anti White America etc) denouement is DANGerously ludicrous.

The Indians put their hearts into aping the West without internalising any values and when things go wrong attribute everything to WEST's influence and prattle some verses from 'Geetha'.

They remind me of the alley cat that branded itself to look like a real TIGER.

Recall, somtime back Infosys narayana murthy gave some inane pep talk before Bill Gates about ethics in business yadayada... Well, I am posting a few honest comments by certain Indians:

"Well, the ground reality may be very different from
what is expounded by Mr. NRN. Not that I don't admire
what he has achieved. But since I have worked closer
to the ground things look in sharp contrast.
A manager bills client for some things which
'ethically' he should not.
Though Infosys is a lot better than others in the
trade, being a people-intensive service provider
brings its own disadvantages.
A manager offers estimates less to grab a project. The
marketing folks eulogize about skills while knowing
that they just trained 1000 freshers on that. Even
training of freshers, which is claimed to be
equivalent of a BS degree from any US industry is done
the short-cut way. Things just aren't right at the
grass root level, is what I would say.
It is just a sheen that media has woven around it.

.....totally agree with this. Its time media stops
portraying a false rosy picture much contrary to what
actually happens with the low cost offshore IT
companies who would go any length to win a project.
Every one knows how managers meet their revenue
targets. Its an open secret how Infosys managed to get
300 odd acres of land in Mysore.
Narayan Murthy preaches what in reality his own
organization doesn't practise.
We all are innocent until proven guilty. In India, the
powerful people and organizations cannot be proven
guilty becoz of the murky behind the screen activites......

Speech exquisite but not his company practices

I have to agree that the speech sounds great . NMR
alludes to ethical and legal responsibilty of the
organization and the employees. But is this being
practiced by Infosys at its various operations across
US? Looking at the current state, Infosys is nothing
but a big body shopper with stingy business measures
centered around profitability. So is his foot where
his mouth is?

There are no business guidelines on how the employees
shipped to US from India are treated. There is no HR,
the managers are business focused and not people
focused to name a few issues. The employees act as HR
for new employees, they act as concierge, act as
mentors and pretty much everything else. So where is
the Infosys conscience, the ethics he refers to time
and again.

I am not an Infosys employee and so I really dont
care. I used to have high regard for Infosys and NMR.
But from what I have seen here, Infosys is a great
bodyshopper with no moral ground. In this age where we
talk about Corporate Social responsibility and ethics,
I guess we need to start with our own employees. So
may be NMR needs to start cleaning up his house first
before he can give any more "wow" speeches".

And if any American ( I mean White American) attempts to point out lack of path breaking creativity among Indians, they all band together agitating asking for "apologiessss" then would start off from Battles of Panipat, Clive war, Colonizing blahblah.. and sigh ....ODIOUS. These are not reported in media but the NRIs ,who I speak to, seldom express heartfelt gratitude towards the Host Country (exceptions prove the rule) Forever disgruntled with overfeigned bonhomie during hindu festivals. Wolfing down sweets satiates them pretty well:))

In Bangalore bollywood filmstar feroz khan set up a huge Ayurvedic Spa. Claimed it was to treat "lifestyle diseases of Westerners".Lol..

One police officer called Prakash detected huge theft of electricity by the muslimkhan family amounting to several lakhs. When the chief minister named Krishna (LOL) came to know about it, he transferred the police officer and that was it. No one bothers to follow up or account for anything. Later when he lost the elections, krishna went to a Powerful Temple of Saturn( Thirunallar),circumambulated, shed some pious tears before God and felt gratified enough to rest assured.

The mention of 'SATURN' alone will give some jitters to indians.

And here comes the desserts.

Remember the Sandalwood and Ivory smuggler cum dacoit cum decapitator (virtually all the Sandalwood Trees and Elephants were felled by him--Veerappan) of many Forest officials and Special Task Force etc etc. Everyone knew he was the protege of karnataka, Tamil Nadu plus Central govt active mutual patronage. Now and then sporadically would thunder about capturing him alive or shootatsight....lol. Then they once came up with the idea of Calling for Israeli Commandoes (outsourcing Lol) to do an Entebbe style operation.

Evenually another rival political party managed to shoot him dead. And could rest on its laurels till the next election...

Infidel Pride,
I still think that substance abuse is the reason for the unhinged posts.
