AN Australian citizen has been arrested by coalition forces in Iraq on suspicion of conspiring to commit terrorist acts. Warya Kanie, 39, an Iraqi Kurd, came to Australia about three years ago with his young daughter as part of the humanitarian refugee program to join his three brothers, who were already living in Adelaide.Mr Kanie, who had divorced his wife, was living in a housing trust apartment on unemployment benefits and receiving additional benefits as a single father.
A member of the Australian Iraqi community, who spoke to The Weekend Australian on condition of anonymity, said Mr Kanie was a Sunni and "had extremist views".
Mr Kanie left Adelaide about seven months ago, after gaining Australian citizenship, telling his family that he was going to look for a new wife in Iraq.
But he allegedly told a friend that he was leaving Australia "to go on jihad".
Mr Kanie is alleged to have been staunchly opposed to the occupation of Iraq and supported terrorist acts against Western forces and Iraqis co-operating with them.
Sharif Ali bin Hussein, imam of the Marion Road mosque in Adelaide's southern suburbs where Mr Kanie is thought to have worshipped, denied through an interpreter knowing him.
Amazing how no one who ever participates in jihad violence ever seems to have seen the inside of a mosque.

Sadly, we're unlikely to learn from this. The article below, "U.S. Urged to Boost Efforts to Aid Iraqi Refugees" appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle last week. An AP story, it's apparently been floating around for awhile.
Of course, the main recommendation is to *increase* immigration to the U.S. from Iraq. The idea that we might be importing some terrorists along with the other "refugees" never comes up. Here's one link:

Iraqi Christians are continuing to suffer under the current regime and that is not likely to get any better.. So I can where we could allow them in. As a test they have a finely made porquetta sandwich to make sure they are not enemies!
Just shows how we hand out citizenships way too easily here. He waited until he had his nice safe exit ticket back to safety in the west before venturing out probably to plan crimes.
I really wish we had some way of cancelling citizenships in these circumstances but we don't.

The bad situation with Islam in Australia has been exacerbated by the fact that, several years ago, some idiot politicans there stripped the Australian citizens of their right to keep and bear arms. From what I understand, They lost their right to handgun ownership, most longarms, and even pump-action shotguns. No wonder the muslims have felt emboldened there in recent years (rioting, attacking girls on the beach, and other typical muslim behavior). As an American, I know if the muslims tried that kind of lawlessness here, they would be blasted from every window on the street (I think they know it too and that's why there have been no riots on their part - yet). Since their politicans won't protect them, I wish the Aussies could at least have their gun rights restored to protect themselves.

How the f**k did this creature get citizenship so easily and so fast?
My best mate moved to Melbourne from the U.K. in late 1999 to help the computer systems tackle the millenium bug.
He stayed on because he loved it,he met and married an Oz girl,they have 2 kids and a lovely house in the suburbs.
He pays thousands in tax and is a computer wizard who maintains banking systems.
He is yet to be granted full citizenship.
Why?
Is it because he's white,English and working class?
Why are honest hardworking English folk discriminated against?
