An Islamic coalition representing southeast Michigan Sunni groups and centers said Tuesday that the vandalism of Shiite mosques and businesses over the weekend could be hate crimes and called on the federal government to investigate.Late Saturday night or early Sunday, vandals broke windows of two mosques and five businesses along Warren Avenue owned by Iraqi Shiites, the second largest Islamic sect after the Sunnis.
The owner of a restaurant whose windows were broken said he had received threatening phone calls before the vandalism that referred to his Shiite creed, according to the Islamic Shura Council of Michigan, based in the Detroit suburb of Bloomfield Hills....
The FBI said in a statement Tuesday that it has talked to the Council on American-Islamic Relations [Oh, what a relief -- ed.] and leaders of other community groups. If the Detroit police find information that links the vandalism to federal civil-rights violations, the FBI would "pursue it accordingly."
Isn't is comforting to know that, when CAIR says 'jump,' the FBI still asks, 'How high?' My guess is that, in the end, the investigation will conclude that Islamophobes, read right-wing Christians, were behind the vandalism, and not Sunni Iraqis. Does CAIR really want to go down that path?....investigating bad Sunnis, when they get all of their money from Sunni nations. I just don't think so. I will stay tune to this story with interest.

Sunnis are asking for help from INFIDELS to protect themselves from other MUSLIMS? The irony of it is delicious! However, I suppose that is better than allowing them to pursue this matter themselves. The last thing we need is anyone doing anything illegal that muslims can rally around or use for propaganda, IF this was the work of anti-muslims, they shoudl be discouraged, it's useless and harmful, and illegal. But this plays so much into the hands of the muslims so well, I tend to think these and more such incidents will be done by themselves, or baited, for them to exploit it. Like the blowing up of the shiite mosque in Iraq, I believe shiite Iran was behind it as they are feeding both sides of the sunni/shiite conflict there and both sides are too stupid/blinded by hate to realize it.

Norquist, the president of Americans for Tax Reform, runs an off-the-record, invitation-only meeting every Wednesday at ATR’s office. There, 150 representatives of the White House, Republican congressional leadership, and conservative interest groups gather to exchange the latest intelligence on politics, strategy, and issues. But about 20 times a year, Norquist’s home is the scene of even more hush-hush events ranging from Christmas parties to receptions for conservative think tanks from each state.

Impressed by all the well-dressed, clean-cut people who seem to flock to Grover’s house, a curious Washington Post reporter who is his neighbor asked him, “What’s up with your name? Is it even theoretically possible to have a more conservative name? How about Throckmorton Humphington the Elder?”
“Believe it or not, my parents told me the alternative was Thor,” Norquist replied.
“Thor may be the most conservative name ever,” the reporter said. “That makes Grover sound like Che.”

That was their first mistake.
Normally on que, CAIR would be holding their public media stunts over an incidence like this. They would be accusing Americans of hate crimes and that all of America needs sensativity training.
But CAIR has been quite. Because one muslim group attacked another, and that does not pan out well so they would rather keep their mouths shut.
As a matter of fact....they are keeping their mouths shut. They are actually discouraging the FBI investigation...they don't want it to go further. So, the FBI could cut their investigation short by just asking CAIR to make a statement on record of 'ok, who did it'. CAIR already knows, that is why we are not seeing the photo opp.
And on a side note, hasn't the FBI asked for participation from muslims to 'out' extremists? And wasn't it CAIR that told muslims that they had rights and did not have to 'out' extremists and to not participate with American law enforcement? Yes to both of those questions.
Carolyn2: Grover Norquist's background and interests are documented by the investigative reporter, Paul Sperry. Yes, he was college roommates with Karl Rove. He is also married to a much younger Muslim woman, who has had several well-connected government jobs. He refuses to say if he is a Muslim convert. Next to his office is also an office of a Muslim group. People from that office always attend his special Wed. group meeting, sometimes leaving Muslim literature on the table for guests to pick up. I know someone who used to attend those meetings. According to that person, who is familiar with DC conservative groups, Mr. Norquist's star has tarnished in the past few years, mainly because of his close associations with Muslims. Even his red beard has become a source of questions for those wondering where his interests are. However, I agree with you. His close relationship with Karl Rove, Bush's right hand man, is scary and a great source of power for Mr. Norquist as he wheeels and deals thru the Capitol.

Thank Heaven, the Unitarians aren't fighting with the Lutherans. Thank Heaven, the Catholics aren't bombing Quaker Meeting Houses. Thankfully, the Methodists aren't warring with the Jehovah's Witnesses...or the FBI would be too busy to 'protect' the Sons of Haggar.
