I just did a search of available statistics on lightning strikes, peanut allergies, and deer-related fatalities. The "professor" is pulling numbers from his nether regions. Growing up in the lightning capital of the world I figured he was closest to correct in those numbers. Which he is, but it's still not 3,000. The average is less than 100 per year in the U.S. (82 as of 1998). Factor out golf in Florida and it's hardly a risk at all.

Not that accidental and nearly unavoidable deaths should be compared to mass murder for religious reasons, but then I'm not an academic.

But weather people disagree with the CDC by more than a factor of 30, saying it's 3,000 a year.

kind of tough to engage in dialogue - or much else - when ones head has been separated from ones body! Any criticism of Isalm is immediatley labled as blasphemy - which tends to nullify any debate from the get-go. I guess "tolerance" isn't anywhere to be found in the Islamic lexicon.

I don't know if it's all worth worrying about. America does need to wake-up, and it's unfortunate that many more of us may have to die before we catch-on. But, too, we can take heart in the fact that every Islamic jihad has culminated into unmitigated disasters for Muslims.

Also; the Islamists should take a breath and study a little American history - like the French and Indian War. Early American's were appalled by the Indian's scalping, beheading and even cooking frontier farmers. It's the old story of 'what goes around, comes around.' Some farmer, somewhat irrate that his wife and children had been butchered, redesigned his shingle-splitting hatchet into a nifty "tomahawk." Nice sharp blade on one side - scalping hook on the other. They could be thrown rather nicely, too.

The bottom line being: Terrorism ain't anything new. The Islamist's will find this out the hard way - again.

A phobia is an irrational fear.

Given all the terrorism and murders that Muslims have committed in the name of Islam recently, any fear of Islam is clearly not irrational.

It therefor follows, and clearly so, that the term Islamophobia, as it is currently being used, is essentially a self contained non sequitur.

I think that I will use as my definition of Islamophobia, the fear on the part of Muslims that the truth will be told about Islam and Mohammad.

Deer statistics are kept only by Michigan, lousy with deer. They have about five fatalities a year. Southern deer are smaller. Motor Trend notes that most "deer fatalities" involve swerving motorists and stationary objects.

The word "islamophobia" is not an acceptable term for intelligent apprehensions over Islam, and the adherents of a total belief-system whose central and moving idea is that of a complete division between Believer and Infidel, that asks of Believers that they offer their sole loyalty to Islam as a Total System, and to the Jihad, furthered through many conceivable instruments, to spread the dominance of Islam to lands that for now may still be under Infidel rule, and to ensure, along with that dominance of Islam (by removing "all obstacles" to its spread) that Muslims rule, and not just here or there, not just in the lands now part of Dar al-Islam or once part of Dar al-Islam, but everywhere.
