Evidently there was more than one.
Robert Redeker Update: "Report: Moroccan police arrest man for allegedly threatening teacher in France," from The Associated Press, with thanks to Jeffrey Imm:
PARIS: Moroccan police have arrested a man suspected of sending death threats to a French philosophy teacher who has been in hiding since September after airing his thoughts about Islam in a newspaper, the daily Le Parisien reported Tuesday. The paper, citing sources close to the investigation, said the suspect, a Moroccan in his 20s, was arrested Dec. 19 in his home country after returning from a trip to Libya. He was trying to go to Iraq, Le Parisien said....
The article drew death threats on an Internet site considered close to al-Qaida and also menacing e-mails, some containing photos of Redeker, a map of his home and his telephone numbers.
WOW! This is one of a few stories of late where death threats from the Jihad-minded are prosecuted. Currently there is a chill in the air about criticizing Islam, but it should not be too hard, with the requisite focus from law enforcement authorities, to put a chill in the air about threatening people with death for violating the speech restrictions of Sharia. Let's hope the trend continues. And in Morocco no less!
But Islam is a peaceful "religion". Yeah right. Oh, I forgot, I can't believe anything I see in "blogosphere", as it is a "sometimes subterranean sewer of suspect journalism, where reputation-besmirching rumor runs rampant".
Seriously though, if more people read things like this, perhaps more people would "get it". Perhaps not, they are all too busy watching TV.
Imagine, speaking your mind in a newspaper inside your own country. What could he have been thinking to have done that? Did he think that there wasn't consequences for saying things that are contrary to sharia law and the Quran? Did he actually believe he lived in a society where you could freely express what you thought and believed?
The sad part about this is that in France they'll print people's true thoughts about Islam. I doubt that they'd consider doing that in any newspapers in the US.
...a man suspected of sending death threats to a French philosophy teacher...
.......................
Islamists always target anyone who encourages anyone else to think, even at the most basic level. Hence all the attacks on teachers in Afghanistan, and Thailand, and India.
I'm glad at least that the man who threatened this French teacher has been apprehended. It's a start.
What this news clip does not tell you is the sad reality that this guy cannot ever have a life in France again. The French media and academia threw him under the bus. Elements of the French government sympathize with the viewpoints of the press. This is just grandstanding on the part of the French government because the entire Redeker case is a black eye for France. France is the whore of Islam, as anyone who understands French policy knows.
Once an Islamic fatwa is issued, it goes to the four corners of the earth. He will never be able to have a life, a job, privacy, and security in Europe ever again. His best hope is to come to the U.S. under our asylum laws, get a new identity, and work out a new life as an academic with a low profile. Even here he can be found out and marked for death. He is surely more exposed in France, but even here there may still be a need to provide security for himself and his family.
Robert Redeker is one of heroes. He is truly one brave dude and I wish the chicken shit French government had done more to support his rights to speak his mind.
Whatever happened to "la déclaration des droits de l'homme et du citoyen" in La France?
Muslim apologist/propogandist all the time harp about " fearing Islam " or being " intolerant of Islam ". The reality is that Muslims fear free speech and is intolerant of free speech. Even fear and intolerant of the very right to think as well.
Vive the Rights Of Man!
Death to Allah!

These jihadist losers are really something. Here's a guy living hundreds of miles from Redeker, in another country, writing letters threatening to kill him. Don't these idiots have anything better to do? Why don't morons like this guy improve their own lives or their own cesspoolian countries rather than threatening some guy in another country? Sometimes I wonder if Islam is just another infection in the blood that compels the "victim" to act like this-calling it a mental illness doesn't seem to do it justice.
This fellow in Morocco is not the only originator of the death threats. Mr. Redeker's very good friends all say that he has had multiple death threats from many quarters. Some of these have to be from within France itself. Plus, if you follow the press and academic statements about him in France after he had to go into hiding he was savagely attacked by non-Muslims. His life is destroyed. France would prefer that he just went away and this whole story ended. The French would like to wash their hands of him.
We should welcome him. Smuggle him to the U.S. embassy in Paris and grant him asylum in the United States of America.
An idea (the word no Frenchman can pronounce correctly):
Invite Robert Redeker to teach French literature in one of those departments where, to date, courses have focussed on "francophone" and especially "beur" literature. Let him introduce the students to Montaigne and La Fontaine and Chateaubriand and Victor Hugo. Let them find out what, too often, they no longer find out -- that is about French literature. No discourse, post-modern or otherwise. Nothing hegemonic about it. Just poems and prose. In French. Taught by Prof. Redeker.
Universities fall all over themselves trying to find posts for Cornel West. They offer fellowships to Tariq Ramadan. They offer tenure to Noah "After Jihad" Feldman. They get a "catch" on the order of Homi Bhabha, or a thousand Homi Bhabhas.
Robert Redeker needs a job. He needs a job teaching at the level he taught at in a lycee. That is, the level of the most advanced college courses in American colleges.
Who will offer him that job?
Is it a surprise to see such maniacal threats by Islamic terrorists in France--a once great Catholic nation and daughter of the church that has apostasized and now worships the gods of secularism, pleasure, and materialism. It has now committed the ultimate suicide with contraception, divorce and abortion.
Its punishment is inevitable with the rest of the West which is similar to that of ancient Israel's fate when they denied the one true God, only to worship the golden calf.

Lock him up and throw away the key; there's someone in his head and it's not him. Anyone who violates someone's privacy should be locked up.

France is lost, so this man needs to come and continue his purpose in a land that isn't. The problem is that the American state-funded university system is a lost cause. Its concern is not so much education than indoctrination. Its concern is political correctness and a one-world-wide socialized utopian system, not too unlike what the Islamists want.
Our colleges and universities are working hand-in-claw with our enemies, so Redeker's choices of places where he could safely teach and express his thoughts are terribly limited. It might be better to be here, but not by a whole lot.
Hand him over to the foreign legion and no more problem.
In fact, let the whole division go nuts in France 1 province at a time and no more muslim problem.
Treat islam and its followers as a cancer....cut it out or burn it.
"The problem is that the American state-funded university system is a lost cause"
...NOT to mention many of the high level professors are far left nutcases such as Ward Churchill.......
