Northwest Airlines will offer an apology and compensation to a group of 40 Muslims who said they were turned away from a U.S.-bound plane in Germany.The payment will cover "extra flight and hotel costs" incurred after the airline refused to let the group board a Jan. 7 Frankfurt-to-Detroit flight, the Michigan office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations said Wednesday in a prepared statement.
"We welcome Northwest Airlines' apology and offer of limited compensation as a positive step toward addressing the concerns of the Muslim passengers," the group's executive director, Dawud Walid, said in the statement.
The group had arrived early enough for the flight but was denied boarding on the grounds that they were too late, according to the rights group. Northwest spokesman Dean Breest said the flight already had been closed to passengers when the group reached the gate.
The inflight movie should be Undercover Mosques.
The poor dears were late due to a junket they took on Jihadi BusTours of the Martyrs. They just had to see the apartment building where Mohammed Atta spent his planning days prior to 911.
It's important, from time to time, to remind our mahometan masters that these silly rules we Infidels make for one another are not meant to apply to them.

This limp position taken by Northwest Airlines is akin to that of the lady who was "a little bit pregnant." The customers ( muslim or not) were either on time and wrongfully refused boarding, or were too late to board and justifiably kept off of the flight. NWA - which was it? Enquiring minds want to know!

Three months ago, I arrived forty-five minutes before a domestic flight's scheduled departure. I was told that check-in of bags had ended, and that because I would have to have my by-now carry-on suitcase gone through, I would not be able to make the flight but would have to take a later on. Did I have to be Muslim to threaten suit? Wouldn't it be enough that I was regarded as suficciently suspicious to warrant such a thorough and therefore time-consuming search of my carry-on luggage?
The Northwest Airlines retreat is merely a litigation-limiting device, of the same kind used by insurance companies that do not contest some kinds of claims deeemd highly suspect but not worth the expense to challenge, and so they settle. But here it is not merely a matter of expense to NWA, but of security policy more generally, and of the attitudes of local Muslims pressing at every point.
One wants to know what an airline is supposed to do when a group of forty Muslims, back from the hajj, shows up. Are they to pretend that this does not include people who are the most deserving of being searched? Should they act as if these are just 40 people who are like any other group of 40 people? And if they will have to search all of them, and they should, that will take time.
Perhaps it should be made clear. If you fall into a category of those likely to require searching, and any such large group of Muslmis does, and for obvious reasons, then you should simply assume that it would be best if you turned up earlier than others -- say, an hour earlier. Given the billiions of hours that are now forcibly spent by non-Muslims in arriving for every flight at least an hour earlier than they used to, it would not be much to ask that "any group of five or more people in the likely-to-be-searched category" must arrive not two hours but rather three hours before scheduled departure" would solve the problem. It would require an unembarrassed and unapologetic recognition that this category of passenger consists of Muslims, for it is Islamic terroisms and Muslim terrorists who are responsible for almst all of the plane hijackings and bombings in recent decades. Not all: There are once every few years a political dissident or two who try, by re-routing a hijacked plane, to fly themselves to safety but not to harm the passengers or crew. There have been cases of a few groups -- such as the Tamil Tigers, or a Sikh group that blew up a Canadian airliner, that have nothing to do with Islam.
No, not all.
But almost all.
Translation:
If you want to plant a bomb in a NWA airliner arrive late and carry a Koran. You won't be searched (since its going to be illegal to search Muslims for any reason) and will get preferred seating - even if they have to bump an infidel off.
Bonus points if you hide a gun or box-cutter in the Koran (since it'll also be illegal to touch it unless your muslim --- and even the mythical moderates won't tell will they?)
Time to drop NW air a e-mail congratulating them for caving to the Islamist faster than anyone else in history, while gently informing them that I will never fly their airline.

Northwest should take a lesson on how to handle Islamintimidation from US Airways. And so should we. This costs lots more than money .. and guess who's going to pay (including $$$)? Don't you miss the old days when NWA was short for N****s With Attitude? We need some freakin' attitude to deal with people who will sue for just about anything. Not only will this hurt their religion and the perception of their religion, but it will hurt those who do experience actual discrimination.
I just went to the Northwest Airlines website and and sent them an e-mail telling them that it wasn't 'compensation' that they paid but protection money! I also told them "Congratulations! You are now full-fledged dhimmis!"
The big question is what if little old ME should get there just 20 minutes before boarding. I'm Jewish and believe me I can kvetch and try to get on that flight but if I'm bumped I will not call the Anti-Defamation League.

I never cared much for North-Worst anyways. I usually pay more for flights with longer stopovers becuase North-worst used to give me half-hour layovers with the connecting flight across the airport...I have yet to actually walk through MSP airport. But now that I don't fly North-Worst anymore I won't have to endure the headscarfed Somalis that work there either!
I predict that Airlines will start using smaller cargo plane to fly the luggage ahead of the flight time to be at the Airport of destination , to make up for the extra costs there can now be more seats installed and less fuel needed which will make take-off easier
on the engines for lower maintenance.
Cargo bays may also be used for private mail by companies like FedEx that will pay to sublet
a spot even at cost just to keep up the image and get the advertising value , in fact , I remember when courriers paid passengers to carry a package
for them and hand it to the other Rep waiting
at the other end , it could pay up to $30.00
if you had no carry-on items and used the overhead storage.
International flights may have to use FedEx for luggage but domestic routes only need prop-engine
planes.
Passengers can board just befor the flight
after they dropped off baggage earlier ,and Insurance for the Planes will go down if the risk of a bomb is almost zero.

Well, I'm not too excited about this. It's just par for the course for US Airlines companies to offer near-total deference to customers. It's part of the airlines' SOP. The apology aside (which was really an unnecessary and unfortunate precedent to set) had the airline simply stiffed these passengers they'd have been hard-pressed to over non-Muslims a break if something similar happened to them. I really wouldn't count this a a victory for the Ummah. It's sort of like that guy who solve the children's puzzle in that TV commercial, and then triumphalizes about being the "king of that thing". All it means is that the airlines have a compulsion to give deference to customers, because their profit margins are so meager. That's actually a good thing.

I would argue that, because the NWA has completely destoryed the confidence of its counter staff and flight crews, it is significantly more dangerous to fly NWA than, say, US Air.
NWA has provided terrorists a perfect opportunity to board unimpeded. Of course, this is CAIR's goal, as this is simply part of the Jihad.
