ISLAMABAD: The administration of Lal Masjid on Friday threatened the government of suicide attacks if it continues to demolish mosques and madrassas. The clerics also acquired a commitment to this effect from thousands of worshippers at the Friday congregation.Addressing the Friday sermon, Maulana Abdul Aziz, key prayer leader of Lal Masjid, asked the government to reconstruct the demolished mosques and urged President Musharraf to “seek Allah’s forgiveness” for demolishing “seven mosques in the country”. “We are ready to carry out suicide attacks if the government does not meet our demands,” he said, adding that the clerics would accept General Musharraf president for life if he accepts all their demands in letter and spirit.
Maulana Aziz, who is also the principal of Jamia Hafsa and Jamia Fareedia madrassas, issued a decree after citing verses from the Quran that jihad had become obligatory on all men and women against the backdrop of “prevailing evil in the country”. He demanded the government enforce a system based on the Quran and Sunnah in the country and stop dubbing jihad as terrorism....
Maulana Aziz said that millions of madrassa students had decided to sacrifice their lives in the name of Allah and the government must realise the gravity of the situation. He said that 10,000 students of Jamia Fareedia would sit in aitekaaf for 40 days to seek “divine help” and they would also be taught about the significance of jihad. “We do not want an armed conflict with the government, but we should not be pushed to the wall,” he added.
Notice he did not say anything about the Christian Churches razed by the Muslims...

Many would disagree with me, but I have often thought that the best thing that could have happened to Islamic countries like Pakistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and others, would have been if the Communist party had controlled them for about 20 years.
The Communist are the only ones who would have had the ideological fervor to confront the Islamic religious establishments in these countries head-on.
They would have put an end to Madrasas in short order -- and made no apologizes for it. And after shooting a few Imans, the rest would have been sent to reeducation centers for a good brain scrubbing.
Yes, children would have been taught that there is no God, but, at least, it would have freed their minds up enough to think other thoughts for a change. Besides, what's worse, to believe there's no God, or to have their minds drilled with allegence to a muderous fiction like Allah.
And yes, while Communist regimes were often oppresive in the extreme, their ideology at least paid lip service to the equality of the sexes. They would have taken Women fron behind their veils and put them on tractors, put them in positions of authority, and not required them to produce four witnesses in a a rape case.

My God, you're right! Do you realize how much more peaceful and tranquil the world would be if there were no muslims in it? I would say that at least 905 of the wars in progress today would be eliminated. There would be almost no terrorism. People could fly and travel with almost no concern of hijackings. Best of all, we could actually turn our technology and attention to other, more prosperous dreams, like exploring and settling other worlds off earth, solving world hunger, and just enjoying life!
