Islamic protesters hurled abuse at Playboy magazine's first Indonesian centerfold Thursday, calling her a prostitute and saying they hoped her daughter would be raped. Andhara Early did not respond to demonstrators - among them several women wearing Islamic headscarves - as she left the South Jakarta District Court after testifying in the indecency trial of Playboy's Indonesia editor, Erwin Arnada.

To be honest, I haven't looked at a Playboy since I was in High School, but according to press reports, Playboy Indonesia features no nudity. Andhara Early posed in non-see-thru swimwear for her photospread, which means there is less shown than in British tabloids or most women's magazines in US supermarkets.

I suspect the Islamists object less to nudity than to any form of beauty at all.
The Islamic (Koran and Hadith) texts do not outlaw rape per se (as we now understand rape in modern times), but rather outlaw adultery and fornication. If a Muslim woman has been forced to have sex against her will, then she is "forgiven" for the crime of adultery or fornication, and the punishment of stoning is adminstered only to the perpetrator who forced her--provided those four witnesses' testimony support the woman's allegation.
As for non-Muslim women being raped by a Muslim man, there are no clear protections whatsoever. Non-Muslim women regarded as slaves, captives, or prostitutes, or having been suspected of "lewdness" (i.e., not dressing as per Islamic dress code) can be raped by Muslim men with no penalty according to Islamic law.
Hence, the protesters above can publicly express their hope this woman is raped, and they are not contradicting Islamic law. (Just ask Qaradawi, Hilali the uncovered meat sheikh, et al.)
They hope their daughter will be raped?

So, in summation, she can be raped in real life as long as Hollywood doesn't dare make a fictional movie about it, because real life rape doesn't contribute to "family breakdown". Retributive rape is good and pure, but animated movies about penguins and stuff from Hollywood are just another example from the pool of "the depravities of American society".

It's nothing new for Muslim women to call for other women's rape; when that poor Muslim woman who was gang-raped in Pakistan a couple of years ago (as punishment for her little brother's "crime" in becoming involved with a higher-caste woman) not only bravely went to the police but refused to commit suicide, some other women in her village were quoted as saying they hoped she would be raped again. No sympathy whatsoever was shown to her. They seemed outraged that she had not killed herself for the "shame" of having been gang-raped.

Sexual assault suspect’s ability to flee country raises questions

The disappearance of a Saudi Arabian man who surrendered his passport while awaiting trial on charges of sexually assaulting two Halifax girls demands a closer look, says the head of the Avalon Sexual Assault Centre.
"It begs the question: how could this happen? And it seems to me it may be prudent of us to look at some sort of inquiry to see how this happened," centre executive director Irene Smith said Wednesday..........
Crown attorney Catherine Cogswell said police are investigating how Taher Ali Al-Saba was able to return home to Saudi Arabia although he had surrendered his passport and was facing trial for sexual assault and sexual interference by touching. The touching charge involves a girl under the age of 14.
The 19-year-old, who had no prior criminal record either here or in his home country, had come to Nova Scotia to learn English. He was freed on bail in July after he gave up his passport and agreed to live in Dartmouth and not leave Canada. As part of his bail conditions, $10,000 cash was posted, a sum the Crown will try to seize later this month, since Mr. Al-Saba didn’t appear at his Jan. 2 trial at Nova Scotia Supreme Court.
Since Canada doesn’t have an extradition treaty with Saudi Arabia and Ms. Cogswell hasn’t had any contact from lawyers on Mr. Al-Saba’s behalf, she said it’s unlikely he will return to Nova Scotia to face those charges.
Ms. Cogswell said taking his passport should have guaranteed he couldn’t leave Canada and that getting to the bottom of what happened will help ensure that others aren’t able to escape trial in the same way.
But she said an inquiry couldn’t force Saudi representatives to answer the questions that police investigators are asking.
"We confirmed he left the country through the Saudi Arabian Embassy," Ms. Cogswell said. "They refused to co-operate with us in terms of telling us how that happened. No inquiry is going to get to the bottom of that, in my opinion."
No one from the Saudi Embassy in Ottawa could be reached for comment Wednesday, but the person who answered the telephone there suggested calling back today.........
(Ms. Cogswell) said she has spoken to the families of the girls involved in the case.
"This is very difficult on them because they feel they will never get closure," Ms. Cogswell. "They feel that their children were robbed of a day in court in terms of taking control and going to court and telling the truth and having justice be carried out.
"Nobody ever looks forward to going to court and testifying, in particular children . . . but there’s a sense of closure that, not always, but can sometimes come with testifying in these types of criminal proceedings."

I travelled through large parts of Indonesia 35 years ago. I didn't see hijab or veil or anything like that anywhere. People were generally friendly (almost) everywhere I went. There were always certain areas where the Islam thing was perverting the hearts and minds. You could feel it physically. The hateful looks, the open resentment, the hostility.
But if you were to compare Indonesia with Malaysia in the early seventies, even then, I found Malaysia more depressingly islamic.
In the last ten years I have been back twice, only to find that even Jakarta has turned into a veritable Muhammedan hole.
Sad...
So let me get this straight, the protesters were there to protest about a woman who took her clothes off for a magazine. They are outraged at this "attack" on their "morals"?
They then call for a child to be raped to punish the mother!?
That's some "moral" system.
The solution to cases like Taher Ali Al-Saba's is simple - no bail for Saudi suspects.
Whether they are aware of it or not, all Muslim women are being raped (by virtue of the fact that their lives are ruled by ISLAM)!
