British Muslims criticise media for anti-terror reporting

They could be holding meetings about how they will redouble efforts to root out such plots and eradicate jihadist sentiments from among Muslims in Britain. Instead, this.

I have put in a couple of links below to show you the perspective of the people AFP interviewed for this story.

From AFP:

LONDON (AFP) - Muslim leaders in the British city of Birmingham rounded on the media after nine men were arrested in anti-terror raids on suspicion of an "Iraq-style" plot to kidnap and behead a Muslim soldier.

Speakers at the meeting at Birmingham Central Mosque called for fairness in the way the arrests were reported and for gagging orders to be placed on the names of those detained....

Businessman Tariq Mahmood, from the predominantly Muslim Alum Rock area of the city where several of the raids took place, said: "There is no evidence that we know of, but pure speculation, statements from the home secretary, houses raided and the media frenzy.

"The media will go away, the police will move on but we will feel the effects of this farce for years to come."

Imran Waheed, from the Islamist Hizb ut-Tahrir party, added: "The brothers who have been arrested are innocent until such event a just conviction is secured. At the moment, we have sensationalist reporting and trial by media."

Moazzam Begg, a British former Guantanamo Bay detainee, was also angry at the media coverage.

"I hope that when the truth manifests itself that, metaphorically, heads will roll with the people who put out these stories in the first place," he told the audience.

Metaphorically, but of course.

"" ... but we will feel the effects of this farce for years to come."

Not for too many years sunshine, because you're not going to be here for too many years to come.

Arguably, Islam's most favorite metaphor.

Along with it's kin ... heads will go missing.

"I hope that when the truth manifests itself that, metaphorically, heads will roll with the people who put out these stories in the first place," he told the audience.

Muslims can always be counted on to leave clues as to what they are thinking and planning. I guess it wasn't a farce afterall.

All mainstream British parties are toadies to the Muslims. Unfortunately, only the British National Party ( bnp.org.uk ) takes a firm stand. I say unfortunately because I hate to praise a far-right party which has anti-Semitic tendencies, but, as Robert has aptly pointed out, if only the right-wing parties take a firm stand against jihad, then only the right wing parties will be looked to by voters worried about that issue.

"The media will go away, the police will move on but we will feel the effects of this farce for years to come."

Beautiful! Now we are not even allowed to protect ourselves? These Guys have not even been Tried Yet and Muslims know it is a FARCE? Somebody needs to make it Clear to THE so called " Moderate " Muslims that if you are not going to be part of the solution , then you are part of the problem , so sit down and SHUT UP!

The Nerve!

In terrorism, there's no such thing as innocent until proven guilty. Let's face it, Islam is not democratic, and yet they demonstrate in favor of justice within democracy ? Oh, I see; if you're in the Free World, you're innocent, but if you're in Islam, you're guilty.

Boo friggin hoooo.

When they get caught, they bawl like wooses.

Come on you all know only a small minority support peace. Oops I meant extreme sports, I meant extremist radial tires, I meant radical tires, I meant islam. To heck with it they support something.

"Iraq-style" plot to kidnap and behead a Muslim soldier.

Metaphorically speaking of course.

"There is no evidence that we know of, but pure speculation,"

Oh? The pure speculation is on Tariq Mahmoods part. Unless of course he is privy to inside information.

The Muslim community should have invited all Muslim soldiers in the British Military to march through the neighborhoods to show support and that this type of threat would not be tolerated. Sometimes by not picking an action you show your hand.

The Muslim code on free exchange of information:

1)Any discussion, reporting, examination, or critical analysis, of situations involving Islam by non-Islamic sources is hereby deemed "Islamophobia" and shall be forbidden.

2)Just as no image of Muhammad (PBUH) shall be viewed, no reference to Islam shall be made in any event that may portray Islam or Muslims as less than divine perfection.

OT guys,
if you have cable, see if you can get to see
“Terror in its Own Words” with E.D Hill.
I think there is one more screening this weekend,,or early tomorrow morning Oz time.

Good they are showing it. See Wafa Sultan, Brigitte Gabriel, Walid Shobat and others. (Hate to say this but for many of us there is nothing new here. Just glad it is on MSM.)

Ronin-

"The Muslim community should have invited all Muslim soldiers in the British Military to march through the neighborhoods to show support and that this type of threat would not be tolerated."

If they'd like, we could send a few of our more 'expressive' regiments marching through their neighbourhoods to show support of our servicemen and that if they want to make threats, they're welcome to try it.

The golden rule of an insurgency is to have the backing of the people, the UK Muslim community has shown their colors, time to show yours.

I resent the sacrifices that our troops are being forced to make to protect the enemy from himself. I resent the money that is being wasted. I resent that my tax dollars are being redistributed to people who threaten my family. I resent 9-11 and having to pay personnel to look at my shoes whenever I fly. I resent the fact that these communities will not cooperate with the authorities to police the militants who live among them.

Withhold the names of the accused? Islam will be crushed because of its arrogance and lack of situational awareness.

"I hope that when the truth manifests itself that, metaphorically, heads will roll with the people who put out these stories in the first place," he told the audience.

If only the media could understand how literally he meant this statement.

Hizb ut-Tahrir...one of their websites

No chance that the Muslim who has to stress that "heads will roll" is a metaphor will ever have any insight as to why the need for clarification, is there?

Thx, Brian.
Nick Griffin of the BNP has done his homework on Islam.
I dislike the far-right, but, as Winston Churchill once said, if the Devil himself was against Hitler, he'd have to join forces with the Devil.

OT
I'd bet it's a work accident, but the Jews get blamed. What a surprise!
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2089-2583167,00.html

These British muslim leaders are trying to have it both ways, first they cry out about the arrests, and if all goes the way in the courts and those are found guilty, then those poor muslims were victims.
and thirdly, you never hear of any concern of the "intended victims", even one of their own!

Sorry for posting OT but is quite alarming.

US: Indian consulate caught dumping visa applications

"Data from the documents could be used to get false passports. Some of the 9/11 hijackers used false passports. This is absolutely sensitive information. It needs to be safeguarded,' Charles Cresson Wood, a Sausalito information-security consultant, was quoted in the report".

Jewdog:

In five years I have went from being a Guardian reader with a slight interest in Politics to being a BNP member who is highly politically active.
It was not an easy process to abandon all my liberal beleifs and many friends and family thought I hade went mad.
But when you see the light there is nothing else to do.
By the way I have started to make inroads with all the "friends and family" who thought I hade went crazy - slowly but surely, with logical argumanet and evidence I am winning them over and I am talking about "hard left" people - all is not lost yet

When I heard about this meeting I actually imagined some soul-searching and self-reflection was going to take place. I'm so naive and optimistic at heart.

I guess we have to bear in mind that the practice of this 'faith' effectively roots out any self-reflection. The Koran doesn't contain any wisdom in the way the New Testament does. For example, we search in vain for anything like looking to the mote in one's own eye. What it offers instead is what mobs love to hear, "the people who aren't like us are evil and we have a right to kill them if they refuse to become like us."

The way these muslims react to these events doesn't suggest they are ever going to reflect on these things and change their behaviour. So long as they're locked into this belief system, they are going to carrying on denying what's really happening and blaming everyone else for the mess they're making.

Well, obviously their religion doesn't allow them to respect any other law than their own.
The only thing from others Muslims seem to be willing to accept is money and conversion.
But that shouldn't wonder either, as there too, they follow the quran - demanding the famous yizha (ransom/tax squeezed out from infidels). Ever since Mohammed's time this has been one of the main sources of muslim income before there was oil..
And western social welfare system and yizha seem to be a match made in heaven.
It's by the way interesting to know that Mohammed himself was entitled to 20% of the loot his men robbed during their raids.
I sometimes wonder if there'd be a second - similar - religion of peace as the one we know - if Captain Morgan (the famous Caribbean pirate who later became governor of Jamaica) had not just lead a bunch of pirates but indulged in transforming them into disciples of a religion...

Hallo to all out there,
This is my third posting, previously I have asked for advice how we can raise public awareness about Islam and when I suggested adverts in the Public Notices comparing Islamic texts with Bible texts......Nothing..........
I also asked if anyone would be interested in critiquing a lecture on Islam I have been asked to give....Nothing.
Do all of you just it at your computers and post?
What are you doing about raising awareness???

This may be a shock for some

How can we fight and win against terrorism when we can't tell the kids the truth.
Maybe because he lied and didn't say all suicide bombers are muslims?

A supply teacher has been sacked from a secondary school following complaints from Muslim pupils.
Andrew McLuskey was sacked from Bayliss Court Secondary School in Slough after a Religious Education lesson discussing the pros and cons of religion.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/london/6326277.stm

Robert is quite correct to draw attention to those people AP reference in their article.

When seeking out vox pops, this esteemed press agency speaks to a representative of a extreme Islamist organisation and another Islamist who was nowhere near the area when the raid took place; and an anonymous 'local businessman' who just happens to parrot the same line as the other two.

Begg has no link to the affair whatsoever but he happens to be a iconic Muslim victim who, we are told, was wrongfully imprisoned by the US. Yeah - a really disinterested spokesman then.

Hell, why didn't AP speak to the Birmingham Six as well?

AP could have asked the local BNP spokesman for a comment - if they had, then their article would have shown a balance of sorts.

AP really are complete tossers, aren't they?

Thx, johnmac, you sound very open-minded. It's a tough situation and politics is always messy. Since I'm American it's hypothetical for me re the BNP.

farmgirl,
i would be happy to read your lecture, if you can post a link to where i can see it, or put a summary of it, or whatever.
regarding raising awareness: well, it is a bit difficult. i used to write letters to newspapers and to my local MP but,in the uk, we have to be careful what we say because of the authorities, and because families and friends may worry about being associated with someone who may attract the attention of the muslimwhitevanman. (i say that because it seems that the white vans referred to in the MSM were to be the kidnap vehicles and, i suspect, mobile torture chambers).
being able to express opinions with a degree of anonimity here and at similar sites is really nice. not brave, i know, but nice.

Just what exactly do these people want?
They whined after the CH4 Dispatches Undercover Mosque yet last year the same programme disussed
the Muhammad cartoons issue.
Ch4 asked viewers to phone in and vote as to
whether the cartoons should be broadcast or not.
The viewers voted to show them but CH4, showing
them what tolerance and respect really means decided against it.
Really it is as simple as this , IF YOU DON`T

In Australia you can pretty much say what you want on 'blogs. You can pretty much say anything! Look at the Meat Mufti and his ilk. They get away with a lot.

We are but a few. Sometimes it only takes a few to change the world.
I have to say this site, and the many posters here, helps keep me sane.
Good luck with your work.

Thanks M Al-content.
I live in Australia and hadn't thought about the dangers of 'telling the truth about Islam' in the UK.
Here in Australia we still have freedom of speech. What is happening in Britain, could it happen here? Maybe, but not without a big fight.
Thanks for the offer and I will take you up on it. I don't have a web page but I will open a new hotmail account and send you the address via this site. (Administrator,is that permissable?)and post it there.
Many thanks, and God bless,
p.s. Funny you mention white vans, that's what I drive a white Ford Econovan. (ideas)?

Hi Gramfan,
Looks like you're in Aussie too!
I am a born again Christian and share my faith with anyone who will listen but now I find I have a great need to understand Islam so I can speak about it with confidence. I know I will have to be careful in light of what happened to Catch the Fire Ministries but I am willing to take that chance.
You say we are few but I think we are part of the silent majority and when the rubber meets the road then the Cronulla riots will look like a Sunday picnic.
What I have said may sound like a contradiction because of my Christian beliefs. Not so. We are told to love our enemies and pray for them, which I do but we are to hate the sin. Which I do.

farmgirl,
regarding your new hotmail address, if you showed that here it would i think still be traceable to your URL ? i am not very web-savvy, and you need to protect your secret identity, so maybe someone else can suggest what would be best ?

M Al-content
Oops, I will have to think of something else. I'm not really computer savy. I don't know what a URL is but will find out.

Well farmgirl and Gramfan looks like there is at least three of us posting to our polies, media etc, in Australia, I would love to know if any read them, most just delete without reading...
I do know of some Politicians in the liberal party who are well aware of the problem, but dont know if there is any in the left... I do know that the aim of the left is to make Australia an Asian country, see below... and it is binding on all ALP politicians.
"In 1993, Bob Hawke admitted that to the implementation of broad policies on immigration that they know are not generally endorsed by the electorate".
In May, 1993, the then Prime Minister of Australia, Paul Keating, was openly touting a European Community type of agreement for the Pacif
"All that remains beyond economic integration is political integration".
Integrate politically. We are talking here about being governed by Asia, through APEC, or a similar body.

* Australia's commitments to this New World Order under the GATT (General Agreement on Trade and Tariffs) and other trade agreements includes:

* Handing over the country's (Australia's) economic sovereignty to APEC.

* Removing all controls over imports and eliminating all other barriers to "free" trade.

* Giving preferential treatment to imports from other countries, even to the point of sacrificing home industries.

* Reducing wages and conditions of Australian workers to the levels of the country's Asian trading partners (the so-called "level playing field").

* Leading supporters of a republic have gone so far as to openly advocate not only economic, but political integration with Asia. This would end in the dissolution of our country.

We cannot integrate, be governed by, APEC, while we are a Constitutional Monarchy and predominantly a Christian based country. Here we see one of the reasons for the determined push to make Australia a Republic.

This is also one of the reasons for high immigration which fuels the Government promoted and taxpayer funded policy of multiculturalism: i.e. the erosion of our Christianity by the immigration of non-Christian immigrants.

"Australians have to come to terms with the inevitability of their Asian destiny". (Editor of the Bangkok Post, reported in The Age, 2/11/96).

"The Asianisation of Australia is inevitable". Professor Fitzgerald again, in The Australian, 18/5/97.

"Australia must cease being a branch office of empire (British Empire), become a republic and aim for enmeshment in Asia. The case for re-defining Australia as an Asian country was grounded on the assumption that economies over-rule culture in shaping the destiny of nations". Former PM, Paul Keating, in The Australian, 27/11/96.

"Australia is destined to become...a prototype Eurasian nation". Phil Scanlan, businessman, in The Australian, 23/10/96.

TAOA (p. 13), reported comments by former Prime Minister, Bob Hawke:

In 1984 he said: "We will not allow to become a political issue in this country the question of Asianisation". (no wonder they got rid of Pauline Hanson)

"This paper argues that Australia's elite developed a long-term plan and strategy to integrate Australia into Asia. This integration was to be pursued at political, economic and cultural-demographic levels. McCormack presents an impressive array of evidence to substantiate his case. The Asianisation strategy was adopted by Australia's elite initially without the knowledge or support of the Australian people and, more recently, against the polled opinion of most Australians.

"In recent years, Asian immigration into Australia has expanded to make up 40-60% of yearly intakes.

Thank goodness Mr. Howard came to power to stop the above...

farmgirl, I would sugest that you send an email to Robert and ask him to help, if you are in Brisbane I also would help you...
I am sure that Robert has my email address as we have corresponded a bit, although with the billions of emails he gets it might be a bit hard....so mention my name and see what happens..

FarmGirl,
yes I am an Aussie and there are quite a few of us here.
There is a lot of info re islam on this site especially under the top tabs. I have found it most helpful.
I have also found the posters are very helpful also:)

What happened to the pastors was pretty disgusting compared to what meat mufti etc have said and gotten away with.(The pastors spoke the truth!)

You said:
"What I have said may sound like a contradiction because of my Christian beliefs. Not so. We are told to love our enemies and pray for them, which I do but we are to hate the sin. Which I do."
Phew,,I am relieved! However I still oppose the churches who post "Jesus loves Osama".I think it shouldn't have been proclaimed like that, it was tasteless and unnecessary. The sort of thing muslims would just love to read and interpret as weakness.Oh well,,,just MHO.

Re your email as M Al-Content was concerned about your identity:

Perhaps you could email it to Robert and then he could send it on? I don't know if that is alllowed, but worth checking with Robert for your own safety!

Superb - more victimology

Hi Gaye!

Well, another Aussie!

I am sure the word is getting around. I agree more libs are aware of this. Labor might be but they have sold out.Someone here called Keating and labor vote-whores! (Can't remember who.)

We have a labor MP (a muslim) in Victoria who has sworn allegiance to Syria!
I had read about it before the state election: just found out a couple of days ago that he had won. They had managed to keep it very quiet.

Arnie

"A supply teacher has been sacked from a secondary school following complaints from Muslim pupils".

This is listed over on Dimmi Watch and according to one post the teacher in question is a "Guardian reading liberal" and Teachers Union organiser!

Thank you, Briars, for alerting us to this article by Nick Griffin, leader of the BNP. I too worry about the BNP's anti-semitic leanings (and advocacy of race-hatred in general, for that matter).

'Jewdog', are you jewish? Did you actually read the article you praised? It is certainly very interesting and informative.

In that article, Griffin argues that the BNP and the far-right in general, for purely strategic reasons, should tone down their anti-semitic rhetoric, in order to take advantage of the current situation of public concern about Islam. Gaining increased popular support as a result of taking this stance on Islam will enable the BNP to achieve its ultimate and traditional aims (i.e. a whites only Britain).

That is the main argument and main point of the article. If anyone thinks I've misrepresented it, please say so, and explain to me my mistake.

Could somebody also explain to me what on earth racism towards all non-whites has to do with opposition to Jihad?

Griffin's article is particularly significant here as BNP supporters have swamped Jihad/Dhimmi Watch en masse, using an anti-Islamist smokescreen in order to further their ultimate white supremacist racist aims.

The speakers are correct that people should be presumed innocent until proven guilty. However suspects have no right to have their identities hidden. The public has a right to know who these suspects are.I also think it's in the public's interest to know from what communities terrorist threats are most likely to emerge. The reality is that it's not the Amish or the Mormons who are flying planes into buildings and beheading people on the internet.Only one religion is committing murder and other atrocities world wide in the name of their "god".

I also think it's in the public's interest to know from what communities terrorist threats are most likely to emerge.

posted by Roxane

I think the British public can figure that out without the help (or lack of) of their useless press.

Keep your eyes on Fox Reporting, they're exposing Islam for the terrorist they really are !

Regarding the BNP, the choice that some poeple make is to chose those that seem to be the ones facing the issue.

The article is interesting, note that any party has a core group of followers who fight against a direction that the party is heading. Is there a bit of a revolt occurring within the BNP that resulted in that article. That article is interesting, as it twists and turns in trying to deal with the deranged Jew haters in the BNP.

I will always support the Jewish people, I know that there are Jewish lobby groups, but so what, I know that there are Jewish people in high position, but they get there through talent and hard work, so what, from my view of the Jewish people as a generalisation I see a people who very high morals and that is good enough for me and I feel that I a European owe them for the senseless sick massacre called the holocaust.

But what a choice, Islam or Fascists.

schmegel, thanks for that article, I may vote BNP at the next election, but I will only do so because of what I would refer to as dire need, sorry...

my poor mum in england spoke to me over the phone a few weeks ago and proudly stated that at least the muslim leaders are starting to condemn islamic extremists. i told her that the koran condems all non muslims and compares jews to pigs. she then said, "oh i dont want to talk about this". without being disrespectful to my mother but all british people now have this mentality that we cannot speak out openly about muslims. it's somehow bad and our telephone could be tapped!
