My theory is that the West in its current form is on a terminal glide slope. The basic split is between those who are depending on the social safety net and those who are independent. The majority of adults are relying on Social Security benefits for their retirement and will vote to preserve the benefits. But the Laws of Economics will make today’s promises impossible to keep.

Islam in the West will ally itself with those voters who are dependent on government benefits. The alliance benefits both parties. As traditional ‘independent’ Americans are or will soon be a minority, and we live in a democracy, these talks will become more common. Expect to see Iraqi 'refugees' to be relocated in swing congressional districts.

International credit ratings will bring the party to a close. The end game is a massive cut in social benefits, and the emergence of a much meaner society. Democracy in its current form will probably not survive, but neither will Islam. My math shows an over-under date of 2027. Expect to see a preview in France.

Only difference is that at least with the Pope (in this century) we know that there will be no Inquisitions whereas with the Imams, that is a given!

After all, how many times have Muslims so prominent in interfaith gatherings been found, behind the backs of the Infidels, in mosques and other Muslim-only gatherings (or so the speakers or attendees thought), to denounce the Infidels, with the traditional language of the Qur'an and Hadith. What might have been good is if, at the time, a few native speakers of Arabic had been there, non-Muslim native speakers completely familiar with Qur'an, Hadith, and Sira (so an allusion, say, to Al-Hudaibiyya -- of the kind Arafat used to make, most notably in his Johannesburg speech to fellow Muslims just a month or two after those Oslo Accords were signed)--so that they could at once signal that the speaker was doing something downright sinister -- as this one was.

This must not be repeated. But it will be repeated, unless the entire text is written for the Muslim speaker by non-Muslims. And then what is the result? The result is that this will, quite misleadingly, cause Infidels in the audience to think the fellow is a swell guy, a true "moderate," and there's absolutely nothing to worry about.

Apparently, it's all about self-esteem. The "big lie" is necessary to promote the self-esteem of Muslims (or any) minorities, when actual reality flies in the face of the big lies our educators insist on telling. At some point we're going to have to choose between teaching truth vs merely boosting self-esteem. No doubt many people truly believe that instilling self-esteem is more important than being truthful. But one has to wonder what happens in the long run to the self-esteem of the very folks who were lied to all along. It is quite conceivable that these sorts of well-meaning "white-lies" could in the long run simply create delusional monsters. There's probably a very good psychological reason for that old truism that 'Truth is the best policy'.

But of course as the problem grows, the number of people we each happen to know personally grows also, doesn't it? I don't say that to be critical. Just to note the obvious source of the problem. Obviously if we reduced the number of folks that anyone knows personally, that personal element would cease to be a problem. Which essentially means that the problem feeds on itself. Quite a conundrum.

If what I said came out as arrogant, supercilious or having a post-colonial chip on the shoulder, it really wasn't meant that way. My aim was to state that in INdia the actions of Christian missionaries aren't as blameless as they appear to be. As arjun.sevak pointed out, the main point of post was that the missionaries target the "passive" Hindus rather than the Muslims since they know they'd get "fatwaed" see?

There is only one God and God is worshipped by the Jews and the Christians. The Laws of the Old Testament were fullfilled -- not destroyed by the Jesus Christ. The New Testament states that the the way into Heaven is through salavation through Jesus Christ.

Can an Hindu make it to Heaven? Immaterial to me. It would be great if all persons have the opportuinty to read the New Testament and obtain salavation that is guaranteed to all that ask for slavation through Jesus Christ who was slain for all of our sins. Very few countries allow free preaching of other religions........so sad..........that their beliefs are so weak that they must keep Christianity out.
