Israel no longer has a Golda Meir, or a Moshe Dayan.No one of that calibre. The army is made up of the next generation. They don't have the stomach for what their parents did in the 6 Day War etc.
If they attack first - they are damned.

If someone else nukes Iran they will be in the cross fire and they will be damned.

Israeli government sources via WND state that a new order is being negotiated with Europeans in charge of the West Bank with 40,000 peace keepers.
Olmert and Peres are negotiating behind America's back in Europe with the Europeans. Olmert was forced to quit negotiations with Syria by Washington as he was trying to give back the Golan.
Olmert is of a minority sect like all of the leadership of Israel is. He is loyal to European Ashkenazi elitists. They are attempting to gain control over all of the Judean state and almost have it. They have marginalized the Judean majority and are negotiating to gain the West Bank.
You need to pay attention to the reality of what is going on and not be led around by headlines and shallow 7 second responses that bias all Jews are Jews when they are no more all one people than all Muslims are Muslims.

Did this official not see this coming when they pulled out of Lebanon? Were they hoping these thugs would change? Olmert sold out the Israeli people, its soldiers and its will to establish its rightful statehood when he took his hands off the throat of Hezbollah.

Israel, in the grip of a cowardly and confused government, stopped doing what is going to have to be done, and is now waiting for the next Hezbollah

Ignoring conspiracy theories, as long as Israel cannot come up with a leadership that is determined not to fold under US and EU pressure, this cycle will be repeated.
We in the US should not feel superior to the duped Israeli public (meaning Jews only, Arabs are Arabs, not Israelis), our leadership is not much better, cowed or bought off by the Moslem Arabs.

However, the idea that the EU is going out of its way so that it can place 40,000 peace keepers in the West Bank is contrary to everything the Europeans have done in the past 50 years.
No European country (besides maybe the Brits, and not at the present time given Iraq) would have the guts to send troups anywhere near the West Bank. Olmert is lame, but he can't be stupid enough to think that the EU would do anything to police the West Bank.
If you have a link, I would love to check it out. However, I don't think the EU could dig up the personnel for what you are suggesting.
