Ajka Omerovic, who said she was Talovic's aunt, visited the home Tuesday afternoon. She told the Deseret Morning News that Talovic had been "a good boy." She said the family are Muslims from Bosnia who had lived in the vicinity of Sarajevo.
Omerovic said she believed the young man's mother had been living here for about four years. Omerovic was extremely distraught and at first said she did not speak English. But she did try to conduct an interview. She and a younger man went inside the home and left with a large cage with two birds in it.
"We want to know what happened, just like you guys," Omerovic told reporters. "We have no idea.... We know him as a good boy."
Asked what he was like, she replied, "He liked everybody, so I don't know what happened."
His mother is in "a difficult situation — she is very sick," she added.
A loner
Many neighbors said that while the mother and young girls were always pleasant and the girls often played with other neighborhood children, Talovic kept to himself.
"I don't even know that there is a man living there," said neighbor Yasmin Castellanos.

I assume that as soon as the murderer was identified the police went straight to his house, sealed it off, removed every item that was his from that house and especially from his room, if he has one seized his computer, and took every single shred of evidence, and are continuing to look for more, about what he read, what he viewed, whom he talked to, what was on his mind. And if there is any sign that his mother or sisters have destroyed or hidden such evidence, or that others have done so, the police will of coure charge them with all kinds of things. One has to know exactly what was going through his head, about what, and against whom, he expressed or without openly expressing felt resentment.
And eventually this will all be shared not only with other law enforcement agencies, but with the public in Salt Lake City.
Surely I am right to assume that all of that will happen, or has in part already happened.

Three Urgent Needs for Infidels
Does anyone know of a website that has been tracking all the possibly jihad-related incidents that have occurred in the USA to date?
Don't you guys think we should have the complete stats on all these incidents at our fingertips? It's 2007 for God's sake. Why are we still straggling along with scattered pieces of data here and there, spread out so widely and thinly that no single individual can possibly track them all down?
I. Central Database
Why don't we have a central database for all possibly (as well as certainly) jihad-related incidents -- not only for the USA, but also for each country of the Dar-al-Harb?
II. Comprehensive Booklet
My questions here reflect my similar concerns I have voiced before about how we lack a single comprehensive booklet or tutorial that would list in simple yet sufficiently complete form all the relevant info we Infidels need about --
1) the dangerous aspects of Islam
a) jihad
b) sharia
2) the apologetic defense arguments
3) our counter-arguments to #2.
This comprehensive booklet must be unique and supreme, otherwise it will be useless: if it is crafted along the lines of the thousands of other books, websites and sources that exist out there as a mountain of bewildering information about Islam, it will be useless. It has to be the last word on a comprehensive tutorial about what we Infidels need to know about Islam.
III. Questionnaire
Finally, why don't we have at our collective fingertips a simple Questionnaire (based on II above) which lists a Top 20 key things we need to know about Islam?
Conclusion:
The three deficiencies I note above in our War of Ideas armory should be filled as soon as possible. It's ridiculous and perilous for us, at this late stage of the game, not to have these kinds of central and comprehensive sources. It simply will not do for each one of us to have to go Google-hunting every time we have a basic question -- particularly as such Googling inevitably leads us to a veritable jungle of criss-crossing complex data that bewilders and frustrates.
I wanted to thank s_sgt for a recent posting that you can find in google searches what one writes here, but also what others are screaming at you in posts.
It is eye opening to have people define who you are in their bias, curse you, be so misinformed and prove the point made.
A hindu who was collectively in superstition like all 3rd world prejudice was screaming that "cows are sacred" to prove a point.
A person named goldberg was screaming about the Talmud proving the point in it is an anger which is as deep as it's Babylonian roots.
Another jared was claiming religious hate, because in a posting Christian Identity was mentioned proving the thought police do reside in part here.
In all of this it proves exactly what is: If people can not deal with challenges to their bias without screaming then what hope is there and what difference is there from Islam which people line up here to bash for it's violence.
Strangely if I am a rabbi does that make those who attack me bigots, religious haters and anti semites. It does not matter, because all that matters if people can not act civil here then no one has anyone to blame but themselves for a world at war by ignorance and bias.

What happened to him from 14 to 18? Those are important years. Did authorities check on him for being AWOL from school? They certainly would have done that with my children at that age. Did his mother lie for him (after being beaten by him?) and say that he was going to the mosque school down the street? Didn't his mother or other adults in his family, like the aunt who spoke to the press, explain to him that he was given a chance that millions of other young people in the world would like to have, namely come to the US, get an education, acquire a skill/career and make a better life? I don't buy the "he was a good boy but frustrated, traumatized, etc....." The press will paint that picture, but most of the readers won't buy that story. My condolences to the families of the victims who have to suffer the consequences our country's stupid and dangerous immigration policies.

Folks, we're on an uneven playing field here. We're told these people are very family oriented, that they care about the morals of society, that that's why they don't want to assimilate. However, that site is inadequate -- it only lists the names and places of attack, but doesn't say anything about what the attacks were, how they were carried out, or how many victims. Also, I can't be sure it's complete. I shouldn't have to wonder if it's complete, and have to spend time hunting down obscure news stories just to make sure.

It could be this is just another case of a very disturbed young man. Our counry seems to have no shortage of them.
There's plenty of pain and suffering to go around in a tradegy like this -- not only for the victim's families, but even his mother and three sisters.

His religious background is completely irrelevant to the shooting. If he were a Christian, you would not hear anything about his religious affiliation. Having his possible affiliation as a Muslim stated in the article only makes it look as though Islam was a factor in his crime.
