We have a big issue in the UK with county councils haveing to pay to contest actions against themselves and not being able to aford it, and thus letting the action pass. For example Tesco (the UK's largest supermarket chain) applies for planing permission for a new supermarket, the council refuse it, Tescos take then to court, the council can't afford £0.5million to fight the case so capitulates.
How long will it be before other UK mslims -

It is unfortunate that the previous head of the school had allowed this girl's sisters to wear veils.
However, as we embark on what will be a long and often painful period of re-adjustment, it is inevitable that situations like this will arise, in which infidels seem to be less tolerant, or foolish, than in the past.
Many people believe that more Muslim women began to cover to their faces after 9/11 and that they were doing so as an expression of support for jihad, and so veils are no longer regarded with the degree of understanding which is generally extended to other forms of religious or traditional attire.
Also, we know that male terrorists have successfully used female clothing as a disguise, and on that basis veils are unlikely to be welcome in any places that are considered likely terrorist targets - planes, trains, buses, schools, hospitals, government buildings,shopping malls, public gatherings, etc.

This is true. Our town has a large muslim population and before 9/11 veils were rare, now they are quite common and usually on young British born women.
Has anyone wondered, like I have, about whether it is the lawyers, or the father, or the girl speaking?
The article confounds the three parties together. In other legal cases, we may reasonably assume the three parties identifying themselves with the plaintiff side are really together, but we all know how Islam is about men having absolute control over girls and women. The hijab and niqab being two of the many symptoms, of course.
Home-schooling for niqab wearers is a good idea. A better idea is to send them back to whatever Islamic dump they crawled out of to come to the civilized world. They can be schooled there, and the parents should go with them.

In a school the problem is not so much one of security as discipline. The assumption that girls in niqabs will be little saints is ridiculous. And, when I think about it - and remembering my visit yesterday - my bank at Lowndes Street is also guarded by armed personnel.
I am trying hard to think of a single instance in the last few years when I wasn't re-assured by the site of armed guards in my two banks.
Actually, even on the avenue de Grande-Bretagne in Monte-Carlo and in the Twin Towers on
Baniyas Road in Dubai, one of my banks maintains armed guards. As far as I can see, all banks arm their security staff in sensitive areas of the world and this includes London!
I suggest you look very closely at the guards!

It is common knowledge in Britain that many Muslim girls disappear from school at the age of about 12 when they are sent back to Pakistan or Bangladesh. They reappear after about 5 years with a husband and couple of children and they all enter the UK on the girls British passport.
The Government as usual pretends it does not know.

Ahem! If you mean the Great Pyramid at Giza you could, conceivably, be correct - if we had a firm dating for the Stonehenge earlier than that of 2,560BC commonly given for the Great Pyramid. However, we don't. Sorry, but we don't. Lots of datings but none are firm and all can be argued with.
What is more, pyramids were being built in ancient Egypt long before the Stonehenge was even a twinkle in some priest's eye. The oldest pyramid in Egypt certainly dates from 4,200BC (or earlier) which, by any interpretation of the dating data, pre-dates the Stonehenge by at least a thousand years.
By-the-way, most of the so-called Celtic myth, including Samhain, is nothing but a Victorian construct. We know little, verging on nothing, about what the pre-historic Celtic peoples of Europe may have believed. They left no written records and although our written records go well back there is no evidence of so called Celtic festivals in the original documents much before 1750AD with a huge surge in spurious festivals being initiated between the years 1830AD to 1885AD.

I am wondering if the government is paying for her defence, just as they do here in Australia, it is called legal aid here and I know very deserving people who couldnt get it so couldnt fight against their brutal husbands yet an illegal immigrant can have appeal after appeal and we pay for it... I say that if they are illegal send them back... if they dont want to do when in Rome as Romans do then they must go home instead of making us change our ways...

Yes, Gaye, it was brought under Legal Aid.
I am so appalled by it, that I do not even have the strength to put an exclamation mark on the end of that sentence. Like the professional politicians (ie they have never had any other job, so they don't know anything about real life) who have become our rulers, the Legal Aid lawyers, the police, the Crown Prosecution Service etc etc have become politicised and politically correct. There is no Justice in the civil justice system, and it is becoming much less Civil as well.

Yes, they do. at least in Ontario, Canada - there was a Supreme Court case here just a couple of years ago. The (just the Ontario Supreme Court, I think, not the federal) court found in the student's favour. As far as I can tell, only a tiny minority of Sikh students have demanded this "right." There was only one student who actually filed a complaint. The kowtowing of our highests courts to religious extremism, needless to say, does not bode well... I'm just waiting with bated breath for the first niqab case here. I fear our courts will not prove to be as wise as the UK's.
BTW, there seems to be a bit of confusion around some of the terminology here. The "veil" seems to be used by some people interchangably, to describe both the head covering worn by many Muslim women and girls, and the head-plus-face-covering worn by mostly Saudi-Wahabi-influenced Muslim women. It's the latter that was at issue in the UK court case; Muslim girls have been allowed to wear the head covering to British schools for a long time. Regardless of how one may feel about the wearing of the headscarf, there is a big difference between trying to communicate and interact with someone whose face is covered, and someone whose face one can see.
Forcing a little 12-year-old girl to go to school with her face covered like she's a member of a harem is, I think, the litmus test for Western tolerance. We may or may not allow parents to force their daughters to cover their heads (yes in Britain and Canada, no in France), but once we tolerate the covering of faces too, I think all is lost. It must not be allowed--ever.

Dominic it's not my parade and there's certainly lots of Roman historical data concerning the early days of the Romans in Britain and their observance of the celts/druids the cross polonation of the two cultures and their practices.
Just a quote from one clergyman/historian:
