LONDON (Reuters) - The government said on Friday it was shutting down an Islamic school that was searched in anti-terrorism raids last year, and was investigating another accused of having textbooks that insulted Christians and Jews.The Department for Education and Skills said the Jameah Islameah School in Mark Cross, near Crowborough, East Sussex, had failed to fulfil an "improvement plan" to meet standards and would be shut.
"It is now illegal for Jameah Islameah to continue as an independent school and it could be prosecuted if it continued to do so," the department said in a statement....
The statement said the government was also looking into another Islamic school, the King Fahad Academy in London, which was accused by a former teacher of having textbooks that included a quote calling Christians "pigs" and Jews "monkeys".
The Saudi-funded school has said the references appear in a quote from a mediaeval scholar, and that it will tear the pages out of the books.
"It would be completely unacceptable for any school to have material which makes the sort of inflammatory assertions that are being alleged," Schools Minister Jim Knight said in a statement.
Then ultimately all schools that teach the Qur'an will have to be shut down, as the idea that Jews (and Christians) are monkey and pigs appears in Suras 2:62-65; 5:59-60; and 7:166.
Well, what do you know? The old British lion came back from the dead - at least for the moment! Let's hope that this becomes a precedent in England and not merely an aberration. Maybe it will touch off a similiar crackdown here in America.

Maybe, for once, the USA can follow the steps of GB by checking out what exactly is taught in Islamic schools across the USA and indicting all that teach the type of garbage that was taught in the King Fahd Academy (I suspect that might be 100% of all the Islamic schools).

You're right, but the mistake is more along the lines of: we keep trying to shove Democracy without the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights attached to it down people's throats, that's one problem. But the biggest problem of all is that we continue to treat Islam as if it has some right to exist! Did we approach the Nazis like that? The Imperial God-Emperor of Japan? Communism??
We identity the enemy, express our outrage and disgust, inform them of the changes that are coming because they have been paid for in the blood of NON-MUSLIMS (!) and if they don't like it, too bad. If a civil war breaks out in Persia between the Students for American Democracy and Ahmanutjob's Islamic regime, are we going to sit on the sidelines and do nothing? Of course not -- we should drop weapons and care-packages to the good guys at the least, and send in support planes and soldiers at the most.

Damn straight, Hugh! Rarely has truer words been spoken. It is time for the masses to hold accountable, those from both the left and the right, who have prostituted our safety and future for the sake of dirty, filthy Saudi oil money.

It's no small irony that I sat in front of the TV set during the Carter years EVERY night for the 6:30 EST news until the hostages release.
