I wonder how long this will last. Unfortunately, I expect it will not last very long. "US and Israel agree boycott plan," from the BBC, with thanks to Davida:
The US and Israel will not work with a new Palestinian unity government unless it recognises Israel, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has said.He was speaking as US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice prepared for talks with Mr Olmert and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.
Mr Olmert said he and US President Bush agreed on their position on Friday.

I'll give it three days.
Why not just acknowledge that the 'palestineans' are just the representatives of the pathology of islam, the puppets of the arab islamic ideology.
There will not be 'peace' because their masters do not want a cessation to the hostilities.
islam is truly evil, destructive, deceptive and an abomination unto mankind and God.
A scheduled press conference with Rice and Abbas was cancelled today.
Abbas said the world "must deal with Hamas" and that the Mecca agreement is in force.
This looks like a dilemma for President Bush.
Abbas appears to have removed the figleaf that allowed this administration to work with the Palestinians and at the same time say it wouldn't deal with a terrorist government.
It appears Abbas has joined with the terrorists.
Is he for us or against us?
This might be the turning point, l am being very optimistic here. How can any Western government deal with the PA/Hammas boys when they publicly do not recognize Israel. Before with Afrafa and Abbas they just lied through their teeth, and now we have Hammas who are actually more honest. Western governments in the past went along with dog and pony show of dealing with the Palis. now they cannot openly do this. So l am optimictic today :)
What is all this recognition shit ? Give everyone an income and a job, and who'll give a damn about recognizing anything except their own bank account !
From Reuters front-page story:
Senior Palestinian officials said Abbas replied angrily to a U.S. official who warned him on Saturday that Washington would have no contact with unity government ministers, including Fatah members, if the Quartet's terms were not met. President Abbas ... shouted (at the official), saying: 'You are placing pressure on me. I have internal pressure -- the pressure is unbearable.
Only a leader of the Palestinian Arabs -- a barbarous tribe steeped in hatred and violence, responsible for the most appalling acts of terror, engaged in the enthusiastic sacrifice of their own children, dedicated to the destruction of an entire nation and yet with all of this, recipients of the most generously-funded foreign aid per capita in history -- would have the chutzpah to excoriate the official diplomatic representative of the most powerful nation on Earth and insist that entitlements continue despite all refusals to fulfill a single commitment in the interest of peace.
The Arab League, UN, Europe, and US have created a monster -- a ravenous, pathological, insatiable, genocidal monster -- and the Jews of Israel are saddled with the results.
"I wonder how long this will last."
About as long as it took the words to leave the lips of the U.S. President, Secretary of State, and Israeli PM.
Well said, Charles Martel.
As for me, I lost faith in Ms. Rice last year after she made statements that were sympathetic towards terrorists.
Olmer is double crossing murderous liar. Who do you think is allowing the Philistines and neo Syrians to missile Judeans? Olmert
Who is stopping the IDF from striking the PA? Olmert
Who was negotiating with Syria to give back the Golan? Olmert
Who threw away the Saudi Bush peace plan for a divided Judea, the Olmert cabal in power, the destruction of Likud and Europeans in control? Olmert
The biggest problem the Jews face is Olmert. The IDF can wipe out and drive out all Israeli enemies if allowed to.
Mark the words: If al Qaeda is being herded into southern Lebanon out of Iraq by American sweeps, it is highly possible that someone in the Israeli regime will vaporize Hezbollah and al Qaeda in southern Lebanon.
There are massive kill zones being set up in the middle east by the powers mentioned above. America is talking peace, but someone in the European Olmert faction is stocking a powder keg to blow up a major war where death will be the solution in scorched earth for all of these current Islamocommunist problems.
While I continue to hope for the best, Rice's most recent appeasement of Palestinian terrorism makes me more than a little skeptical as to how long America's refusal will stand. It's hard to believe that this is not a temporary stance solely for service as media window dressing that will be torn down once the parade has passed by.
One of the only positive outcomes from this is that Abbas has now clearly identified himself with fellow Hamas terrorists and it certainly clarifies things for any fence-sitters who are willing to take note.
It is still beyond me why Israel has not long ago shut off power and water to the Palestinian Terrortories. Abbas and his Hamas cohorts would be dangling from lamp posts within days were they unwilling to resolve things at light speed.
It will last until Condi's high heels are heard clicking down the hall.
"It will last until Condi's high heels are heard clicking down the hall."
Sounds like the old "Taillight Guarantee". Upon departing the store, all product performance claims remain in force until the salesman can no longer see your car's taillights.
It appears Abbas has joined with the terrorists.
Didn't that happen when his Moslem father's tail wagging sperm latched onto his Moslima mother's submissive egg?
* 33:21 ** 33:21 ** 33:21 ** 33:21 ** 33:21 ** 33:21 ** 33:21 ** 33:21 ** 33:21 ** 33:21 *
As Moslems, they prefer to sit around on their dead asses with their hands out, taking their incomes in the form of welfare checks. Any US dollars left over are used to fund Jihad war terror against their benefactor.
In other words, Marxist causal analysis doesn't work with moon loving rock worshipers, for they observe Koran 33:21.
Today's Jerusalem Post editorial ( http://www.jpost.com ) opines that the three-way summit maybe shouldn't have taken place, given the fact that Abbas/Fatah has joined Hamas. Yet, the Post hopes that the PA will fulfill the Roadmap in renouncing terror, recognizing Israel and keeping past agreements.
I think John Bolton had the right idea when he recently said Ms. Rice was wasting her time with a lot of this diplomacy. There's about as much chance of the PA being civilized as there is of seeing kosher pigs fly.
How about we get real and expect the worst. That way, we won't be disappointed, and maybe we can formulate an efficient strategy to oppose jihad.
How about we get real and expect the worst. That way, we won't be disappointed, and maybe we can formulate an efficient strategy to oppose jihad.
And that strategy is en masse expulsion.
If Dar al-Islam is so great, they'll be happy to go. And anyway, if Jews are pigs and apes and all that, how can these poor Moslems stand to live among them? Must be all that money and the hygienic conditions in Israel.
What is all this recognition shit ? Give everyone an income and a job, and who'll give a damn about recognizing anything except their own bank account !

No doubt there are Palestinians who would agree with you, as polling by an Arab think tank in Israel found the majority of Israeli Arabs prefer their citizenship status for the obvious reason that they enjoy a much better standard of living than their Muslim brethren in the surrounding 21 countries of the "Middle East."
Unfortunately, a substantian number have also been so thoroughly indoctrinated over many decades that you have more than enough Palestinians who are committed to making Israel part of the Caliphate, some willing to send their children off to their deaths, and others risking their personal freedom in the west to raise money for the cause (Sami Al-Arian et al), and political leaders like Abbas who speak out of both sides of their mouths and continue to be lauded as " moderate".
The State Dept. should make this point front and center. Repearing the point over and over again.
Our involvement with the Palistinians should end all together unless this point is accepted. No deplomicy, no "Dialoge", no Aid, no nothin, Period.
Hammer the supposed riff between Hamas and Fatah to death. Their own.
The 2 state solution sounds very Multicultural and would appeal to reason. A bundle of Straw for Politicans and Diplomats to hold on to. The Straw is very dry and is soon to catch Fire. With many secoundary rammifications all of which are good for US and Israel. While fully exposing the Palistinians for what they are and what they really stand for.
