This is hilarious. Humor is a distinctly human quality/ability, rooted in reason and logic, the ability to see absurdity and contradiction. The greater the intelligence, the greater the potential to see reality/truth with humor. It is our intellect that sees, our heart that laughs. I'm sure God must has a perfect sense of humor.
Develop a sense of humor and you develop your intellect, the ability to think logically. It has other benefits too.

Peace is not equivalent to Submission in Western civilization. In fact, submission usually leads to the opposite of Peace if you study events in Western history.

There are a few dots missing in the picture that the reader asked to construct from this comment. For instance, right now in Iraq the world is exposed to the image of Moslems killing Moslems. Where is the peace, within and without, of these people, both groups of which have supposedly submitted to the Allah of Mohammed? Where was the peace of Islam within the founders of both the Sunni and Shia factions, back when the rift first appeared, back when Ali, the nephew of Mohammed, fought for leadership of the Ummah?

The script is good, and I'm sure that the actors put lots of work into memorizing the strings of names. It was worth it for the effect.
The delivery could have been better.
The fake expert said that after thousands of hours of study looking for a common thread in the jihad attackers [implicitly: that was not Islam] he and his colleagues were stumped, and gave his practical recommendation: "So in the meantime why don't you just let the detective work be done by the detectives." That was an absurd enough line in context, and close enough to what we are actually being asked to do (that is "go shopping" and leave everything to "experts" who constantly prove their lack of expertise) that I think it could have earned a big laugh if it had been sold better.
It would be worth laying a little stress on the "meantime," inviting the audience to wonder: how long is this "meantime"? And what would end it? And what is likely to happen in this "meantime"?
The problem is identified.
They are looking for "a" common denominator or "the" common denominator.
To solve the mystery, one needs to look for the LOWEST common denominator.

I agree there is a semantic disconnect here. To me, the brilliant Jewish philosopher Baruch Spinoza had it pegged: peace is not an absence of overt hositlities. It is a state of being where one lives free from fear and oppression. Your notion of peace is one of psychological and intellectual enslavement.
