MADRID – One of the accused in the Madrid bombing trial planned to attack the Kio Towers, one of Madrid’s most foremost landmarks, a court heard on Monday.Witness Y-26, who is under protection, told the court Mouhannad Almallah Dabas, organised meetings in which a group of people watched films of training camps in Afghanistan and talked about ‘yihad’ and ‘radical things’.
The witness claimed Dabas said: ‘I will not be at peace until those towers fall.’
He allegedly made the remark one day as they passed the two towers in a car.
The Kio Towers are two of the largest skyscrapers in Madrid and dominate the skyline.
“Mouhannad was always talking about this,” said his former brother-in-law in reference to ‘yihad’ and the situation in Iraq and Afghanistan.
At this, Dabas gave an sarcastic smile from the bullet-proof cell where he is being held during the trial.
The witness had a distant relationship with Dabas who was married to the witness's ister. They later split up acrimoniously.
The witness also told the court Dabas and others, including his brother Moutaz Almallah Dabas and Serhane, known as The Tunisian, held meetings.
He said they called themselves the ‘Brothers of the Martyrs’.
The witness did not speak nor understand Spanish well. But at the same time, he could not speak classic Arabic.
This meant some of his answers were contradictory.
What? Classical Arabic contradictory? But isn't it true that many key concepts, including "yihad," can only be understood in classical Arabic? What, is Expatica Islamophobic?
The violent realm of Islam keep giving notice to the world that they intend to attack, and yet the various governments keep trying to appease them..Remember, it took only one attack in Spain to force them to withdraw from Iraq....In the end it will not make a difference, Spain is still considered an Islamic target and Spain will see more violence soon...

Why the KIO Towers?
The KIO Towers (originally owned The Kuwait Investment Authority) are representative of the 1988 – 90 defrauding of Groupo Torras by Sheik “Fraud” Fahad and Co. for $430 mil. They have since become the property of Caja Madrid and Realia. Caja Madrid is the fourth largest financial group in Spain (Business volume of $240 mil in 2005) Realia is the property division of the Spanish construction and services group Fomento Constr y Contratas (FCC) and is expected to be listed on the stock market in May.
Much like the World Trade Center in NY, they are representative of wealth and power that were once (albeit fraudulently) in Muslim hands. Now they stand proudly over all other Muslim structures in Madrid in both the physical and financial sense.

Isn’t there a Sharia law against buildings taller than muslim buildings or does that only apply to homes? (P.I.G. to Islam, p. 51) And if it is acquired rather than built, wouldn’t that technically make KIO Towers exempt? And why would this guy care?

I'm not sure what's enshrined in Sharia law, and whether the injuction is limited to residential structures, but I doubt it. More likely it applies to any structure built by and for kafirs, but presumably, wherever Muslims are firmly in power, no new church or synagogue could be built and that which was there and not seized or destroyed, was not permitted to be maintained.
Plans to rebuild Jerusalem's Hurva Synagogue (the original having been destroyed by Jordan's armies in 1949) in accordance with plans drawn up by the late American architect Louis I. Kahn back in the 1970s had to be shelved because the structure would have dominated the architectural landscape to the detriment of the nearby Dome of the Rock and the late mayor of Jerusalem, the legendary Teddy Kolleck, was loathe to stir up the you-know-whos.
