Iran Says Israel, U.S. Threaten Mideast

Pot and Kettle Alert. By Alexander G. Higgins for Associated Press, with thanks to all who sent this in:

GENEVA (AP) -- Iran's foreign minister accused Israel and the United States of posing the main threats to the security of the Middle East. The U.S. and Israeli delegations walked out during the speech Tuesday.

The comments from Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki come as Iran - under sanctions for its refusal to stop uranium enrichment - faces increasing pressure to open its nuclear program to greater scrutiny. The United States and some allies accuse Iran of using the atomic program as a pretext to build weapons; Iran says its intentions are peaceful.

Mottaki told the world's top disarmament forum that Israel was the only country in the region that refuses to accede to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, and said Prime Minister Ehud Olmert last year acknowledged that his country had nuclear weapons - which Olmert denies doing.

A nuclear-armed Israel poses "a uniquely grave threat to regional and international peace and security and requires to be seriously dealt with by the international community taking practical measures," Mottaki told the 65-nation Conference on Disarmament.

Mottaki referred to Israel as "the Zionist regime," which he said had "a long and dark record of crimes and atrocities such as occupation, aggression, militarism, state terrorism, crimes against humanity and apartheid."

The seething of Mottaki is a joy to Western ears.

islam is an evil ideology.

As Israel goes, so goes Western Civiliation. They created it, after all. (With all props to the Greeks here.)

"A nuclear-armed Israel poses 'a uniquely grave threat to regional and international peace and security and requires to be seriously dealt with by the international community taking practical measures,' Mottaki told the 65-nation Conference on Disarmament."
-- from the article above

Israel has been "nuclear-armed" for about 40 years. Not even during its imperilment, during the first few days of the Yom Kippur War, did Israel use -- as almost any other state, similarly imperiled, would not have hesitated to do so -- those nuclear weapons.

Does anyone think the Islamic Republic of Iran, were it to acquire nuclear weapons, would not use them in the first 40 years of possessing them -- and even refrain, as Israel did, from using them when subject to a sneak attack on two fronts, on a day of the highest religious significance?

Of course you don't. And that is why when some Iranian or Arab or other Muslim, or for that matter Western "geo-strategist," tells us that Israel's possession of nuclear weapons is no different from that of Iran or some Arab state opssessing them, one can laugh.

It is as silly an argument as those who would claim that, were Australia to possess nuclear weapons, that therefore it would be just as acceptable for North Korea to have them.

No.

No Muslim state, from now on, whatever the regime in power, can be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons. The other day the Boston Globe ran an article about the two dozen Iranians who came to MIT in 1975 to study nuclear engineering, and how, though some of them remained after the Islamic Revolution in America, others returned, to serve that Revolution, and at least three have been identified as having important roles in the development of Iran's nuclear project. There is always the problem of a change in regime, or a regime in a Muslim land that is not to be trusted. Those who came with support from the Shah found that the Iran that had sent them no longer existed, and the Iran that would employ them, and did empploy some of them, was now a clear menace to the wellbeing of the Infidel land to which they had come, had lived and studied in. That should be kept in mind.

Mottaki's accusations that the US and Israel are the biggest threat to "peace" in the Middle East is essentially correct from his perspective. If the US and Israel were "wiped off the map", Iran could install strict Sharia Law throughout the region and thus "peace" would reign. Albeit the "peace" of a graveyard; the "peace" of a prison during total lockdown; the "peace" resulting from a lobotomy.

Without Zionists, we could all Rest in Peace.

Hugh states, "No Muslim state, from now on, whatever the regime in power, can be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons."

I completely agree with you, Hugh. And like you said, Iran has proven to be a "clear menace to the wellbeing of the Infidel land", and that is why they shouldn't join the nuclear club.

Membership is closed to lunatics with a 'plan'.

The Persian is of course correct in the Judean state and Americans do pose the threat to the security of the Middle East for the following reasons:

America and the Israeli state if attacked will use military force.

America and the Israeli state will if attacked with WMD will respond with vaporizing a large portion of the Middle East.

America is intent on dislodging dictatorships which are secure in robbing their people and giving locals the opportunity to govern.

The Judeans are intent on building alliances with Turkey, Jordan, Egypt, the Islamastans which distablize dictatorships such as Iran.

For the thug this threat is a danger just like an armed female shooting a rapist is a real threat, but the American and Israeli threat is the policy of law and order while the dicator Islamocommunists of Iran rule by brute force and disorder.

"Mottaki referred to Israel as "the Zionist regime," which he said had "a long and dark record of crimes and atrocities such as occupation, aggression, militarism, state terrorism, crimes against humanity and apartheid."

Nice try. The Zionist regime exists because of ideological rationalizations (history is full of them) for conquest and the subduing of "the other" (as Waffa Sultan put it), and because of the will to exterminate "the other". (Isn't that what the Psychotic-In-Iran advocates?)

I'm sure the roughly 50% of the Jews in Israel who fled Mideast countries would love to return to Muslim "tolerance". Muslims don't like reality, even deny the "holocaust", as well as denying the Dhimmi status of Jewish people in Dar-al-Islam. Zionism is really a defensive ideology. What is Islam? Defensive?

"a long and dark record of crimes and atrocities such as occupation, aggression, militarism, state terrorism, crimes against humanity and apartheid."

Perfect description of Iran

Typical Muslim defense = Projecting/Mirroring their own tactics.

No Muslim state, from now on, whatever the regime in power, can be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons. " states Hugh..

I think we already missed the boat by letting Pakistan acquire WMD. They have been instrumental disseminating the technology throughout the Islamic world without punitive action. They have openly advertised the Nuclear technology export in the Western Media. I guess we were all deaf and dumb when our governments totally ignored them.

Iran can buy off Pakistan any time of the day, including their scientists. They come 10 a cent.

The real question is how long more can Israel keep its nuclear arms without using them? I think the time is coming soon when their threshold will be reached. I cannot imagine Israel can sleep very long knowing Iran may get the Bomb. No Muslim state, from now on, whatever the regime in power, can be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons. " states Hugh..

the very existence of Israeal and America is a threat to islamic world domination. may our interferance continue for ever.........

Meanwhile, Rafsanjani of Iran meets with Al-Hashemi of Iraq, and declares that he completely supports the same goals that Bush is in favor of, and for which American troops are now patrolling and fighting and being wounded and dying, as a crazed policy, the very opposite of what should and could be achieved, continues under an obstinate and not very intelligent executive branch, incapable of identifying the real problem (Islam), incapable of identifying the only "victory" in Iraq that makes sense (dividing and demoralizing the Camp of Islam), because it lacks the collective wit to comprehend:

Rafsanjani: Iraq needs unity
Tue, 13 Mar 2007

"Iran's Expediency Council chairman Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani says Iraq is in need of unity, calling on the country's political, ethnic and religious groups to put aside differences and develop mutual understanding.

In a meeting with visiting Iraqi Vice President, Tariq al-Hashemi on Tuesday, Rafsanjani said Iran seeks a free, prosperous and independent Iraq.

He urged Iraqi people and groups to avoid standing against one another, saying many of the disputes can be resolved through "education and mutual understanding."

Rafsanjani referred to the U.S. and Israel as the main enemies of Islam, adding that fanning the flames of disputes particularly between Shias and Sunnis would serve the interests of the enemies.

He noted Iran is ready to transfer its experiences to the Iraqi government, adding that after establishing security, the Iraqi administration should put all its effort into reconstructing the country, developing the infrastructure and resolving people's problems.

Al-Hashemi, for his part, said Iraq should resolve its problems through active participation of various political, ethnic and religious groups."

Can't any member of Congress opposed to the continued sending of troops to Iraq, or to continuing this idiotic (after the first year, of weapons-scouring and regime-destroying, was over) war, make this point -- offer the most deadly and unanswerable criticism of all, the one that the Bush Administration has no idea how to deal with,or to answer, because this criticism of the war is not based on the need to appease, nor the need to seek "negotiation," but rather on the need to weaken Islam, and the Jihad, world-wide, and in Iraq, it is not "freedom" for "ordinary moms and dads" that will do it (even if such a goal made any sense, or had any chance of success), but rather, the sectarian and ethnic fissures that work to Infidel advantage, and should be left not only to work their magic in Iraq, but to keep that cauldron simmering and spilling over to singe or even scald circumjacent states as well.

I would use the cover of bringing "Peace and Stability" to Iraq as a cover for a build up of Forces to confront Iran. nIn the mean time, US forces get to remove any other forces who might get in the way of acomplishing that Goal.

GOOD!

May the glass parking lot rule in the Middle East region forever after.

The rest of the world has gotten nothing but terrorism from these people. I say it's time we returned the favor.

Iran's tirade of blaming all on the U.S. and Israel is old news.. blah, blah, same old same old excuse.

o/t.. Iranian are pissed about new movie about the war between the Greeks and Persians, which is just out, where the Greek Spartan's beat the crap out the Persians.. somehow the Iranians are blaming this movie showing them in a bad way.. stupid iranians,, their crazed prophet mo,child rapist, and murderer was still not born. and iranians are still losers!

What a crock of BullS**T.

Whining and seething are the order of the day in Iran. Not enough faith dont-cha know. Allah will help them.

I heard this morning that Iran was seething about the movie "300". Are they smart enough to know not to pee off Hollywood? This is where their friends live.

Absolutely moronic.

Like i always say and will till the day i die, whatever islam accuse others of doing you can believe they relly mean to tell you they do or have done.

Everything this idiot accused Israel of doing fits islam to a capitol T !!!

I wished the whole room would have had the GUTS to get up and walk out.

The whole daily raping of my mind by islam, the thought of islam, the wish to anhialate islam is getting rather tedious.Something needs to be done about this sickness before there are too many madmen then the politicos can handle.

Why is there noone publicly facing off with these drones over what islam really is, where is the political leader for the freedom lovers?

Is there none out there with the sack to take on these cretons?

Make them publicly state that once converted to islam death is the only way out.

Make them tell the women they will be used only for sex and viewed as property.

make them tell people outright that a childs only goal in life will be to die for allah, even kill themselves to do so.

Make them openly state that islam is to be the masters and all else are thier slaves and never to be anything else unless they fully convert to all the above.

This next presidential race will almost reach a billion dollars. Is there no money to be found to publicly shed light on the hell islam wishes to unleash.

Once all the world succumbs to islam. When everyone becomes the master, who then will do the dirty work of the non believers?

The only thing islam has contributed to humanity lay six feet under.

Like a comment in this article said and a program i watched on the muslims mosques. The only greatness within islam as far as art and the like was gone once full fledged islam took the reigns.

The program i watched was over the mathmatics behind the tiles on ancient mosques. The first thought i had was that it was the slaves or dimmis that built them and no muslim lifted a finger to create such marvels.

There is no chance for advancement in the muslim mind ,not until the twelfth imam appears and tells them to do so.But hey theres still a chance huh 'imanutajoba' could just about tell us when the joker will arrive. keep your fingers crossed.

I wonder what the decade to century ratio is on this long dark history of atrocities is?

You know how terrible the Israelies have been in thier decades of existance compared to that of the centuries of the nut bag islamic existance.

Islam just hates to lose and its really hates the truth.

Truly islam IS for losers!

Hugh,Please consider the following two arguments which it is believed contain the reasons for the Western policy in Iraq:

1. The Pax Americana depends on a regular supply of oil which underpins the world wide carbon based economy, which would collapse if the Iran-Iraq supplies failed to appear.
The resulting recession depression would make, with wholesale destruction of populations, a Hobbesian appraisal (nasty brutish and short) appear benign.

2. To lose Iraq would embolden our enemies such that the very Pax Americana would be in jeopardy.

To opt for the Gaza recourse, where the killing ground is limited hopefully by the border and does not involve the oil mandate - we have yet to see what beast may slouch out of Gaza.

We are in Iraq because our lives depend on it.
