Ingrid Mattson and other Islamic leaders don't want that to happen: "Islamic leader urges Jews be wary of fundamentalists," by Charles A. Radin in the Boston Globe:
CAMBRIDGE -- The president of the Islamic Society of North America warned last night that American Jews who ally with right-wing Christians to oppose Muslim organizations are pursuing a high-risk strategy that could backfire.Speaking at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, at an event sponsored by the school and four Muslim student organizations, Ingrid Mattson, a Canadian-born convert from Roman Catholicism who became the Islamic society's first woman president last year, said that many American Jews have an existential fear that Muslims are anti-Israel.
Such fear leads Jews to ally with Christian fundamentalists who are supportive of Israel and critical of Islam, she said.
"Right-wing Christians are very risky allies for American Jews," Mattson said, "because they [the Christians] are really anti-Semitic. They do not like Jews" and enter into the alliance on the basis of fundamentalist beliefs that it would be desirable for all Jews to return to Israel. She suggested that fundamentalist Christians might turn against Jews or that there could be backlash from ordinary Americans against Jewish and fundamentalist Christian supporters of Israel.
This is flatly false. I'd like to see Ingrid Mattson produce anything antisemitic from any of the Christian fundamentalists who have allied with Israel. I'd like to see her produce anything from any contemporary Christian spokesman to rivals the antisemitism of this from IslamOnline: "Jews as Depicted In the Qur'an," which concludes:

They have revolted against the Divine ordinances, distorted what has been revealed to them and invented new teachings which, they claimed, were much more better than what has been recorded in the Torah. Utrecht: Ethnic Riots after Dutchman is Killed by Police

Ondiep, a working class neighbourhood in the Dutch town of Utrecht, is in turmoil. After the death last Sunday of Rinie Mulder, a 54-year old indigenous Dutchman who was shot by a police officer, non-immigrant citizens went on a rampage, burning cars, looting shops and arsoning a community centre in “inverted Paris style riots.” According to our sources the police officer who killed Mulder is a woman of Moroccan origin.
The Ondiep residents have been complaining for months about harassment and intimidation by immigrant youths of Moroccan origin. The Dutch mainstream media do not go into much detail about what is going on. Most of them do not mention the ethnicity of the victim and the police officer, though the riots clearly have an ethnic nature.
Apparently Mulder intervened when Muslim youths harassed a pregnant native Dutch woman. He was able to grab the knife of one of the youths. When the police arrived Mulder was shot because he had raised the knife. Witnesses say Mulder was indicating to the police that he had called for them.
Locals claim the police has failed to protect them for years. They say the authorities are afraid of the immigrants and tolerate their criminal behaviour. After the death of Mulder the indigenous Dutch decided they had had enough and started riots which went on for two continuous nights. The police made 130 arrests: 60 of them are Ondiep residents. According to the mainstream media the others are mainly “football hooligans” from other parts of the country. Annie Brouwer-Korf, the Socialist mayor of Utrecht, has ordered Ondiep to be sealed off from the rest of town to keep non-residents out. She expressed some sympathy for the frustrated Ondiep residents. “I understand that residents are sometimes upset about the nuisance around their own house and neighbourhood. That does you no good whatsoever.”
The bitch has every reason to be afraid. The Jews are mind-boggingly intelligent and hard-working and persistent. They've survived longer, much longer, than the Muhammadans. They'll be here long after the Mohammadans have obsolesced themselves and been swept into the dustbin of history.
Evil Mohammad realized that his spawn would alienate everyone (just as he alienated kith and kin at Mecca very early on) and that in time the Christians and Jews would have to team up. The intolerant mussulman bigots would finally (after 1400) years solidify an alliance between the Jews and Christians.
It's a beautiful thing. Because, trust me, Jew and Christian, united, vs. the permanently fractious, suicidally self-destructive creed of Mohammad is a no-brainer!

The so-called Christians who are anti-Semetic do not have the backing of the Holy Bible. Ms. Mattison should realize that. There is no verse in the Bible describing the Jews as the descendents of pigs and apes. It is therefore only logical for Christians and Jews to ally with each other. The only difference between the two groups is the Jews do not believe the Messiah has come yet. Other than that we hold the same values.
Our enemies will always try to sow discord. I watched a clip on MEMRI with Dinesh D'Souza's favorite Muslim, Sheik Ali Gomaa. In it, he was discussing the implications of a Christian-Jewish alliance. He also said the Muslims must confront the Christians and basically show them how the Jews are using them. Ingrid Mattison is doing the same thing. And I find it sad that Abe Foxman of the ADL buys into this.

But I suppose you have to try to drive a wedge between fundamentalist Christians and Jews. I wonder if the Jews are listening to you. Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell and their legions will never listen to a muslim.

This is an interesting glimpse into the head of Ingrid Mattson. What is clear is that she is one of those people to whom there is no threat more dreadful than American Fundamentalists. Brought up to fear and hate her own fellow-countrymen, she could not, once the need of God took hold of her, do the natural thing and become a Christian, for her education had clearly marked this as the most dreadful of all paths. So she became a Muslim. The very fact that she warns Jews against "Christian Fundamentalists" without saying anything about why it should be so terrible to be allied with the likes of the late Johnny Cash (who travelled to the Holy Land) shows the sort of person she is. I had been indoctrinated against "American Fundamentalists" as a teen-ager too, but, thank God, I am Catholic enough not to have to base my whole identity on hate and fear.

Just FYI, Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell do not speak for all Christians any more than some rabbi speaks for all Jews. Lots of Christian haters try to link all Christians with Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell for political reasons. Just isn't true though.

This women is actually very clever. There are some fundamentalistic Christian sects that do hate Israel and Jews (a co-worker of mine is one). However, the Fundementalist Christians that ally with Israel do not hate Jews (mostly evangelicals).
She is claiming that the Fundamentalists who ally with Israel are the Jew-hating kind. She is trying to apply the label of Jew-hater to the non-Jew hating Fundamentalists simply because they share a similiar name.
I suspect she is also scared that the combination of the Christians and Jews working together to fight Islam might succeed. If there had been such unity when Mo was alive, perhaps Islam would have been nipped in the bud.
An extremely good book to read about Jewish-Christian relations is The Mystery of Romans: The Jewish Context of Paul's Letter by Mark D. Nanos.
Simply put, Ingrid Mattson is projecting herself with this accusation.

Ingrid Mattson's appearance with Barbara Kellerman, amuses and horrifies. I deliberately went to Boston to see, and meet, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, when she took part in the same series -- something about Women As Leaders, or some such predictable and off-putting title, but I knew Ayaan Hirsi Ali would be able to handle that.
Kellerman's questions to Ayaan Hirsi Ali -- with a kind of business-school or kennedy-schoolspeak about What It's Like To Be a Woman Taking a Leadership Role, or words to that effect. Ayaan Hirsi Ali, careful, dignified, far more eloquent than her officious interlocutor, knew just how to handle the situation, and managed despite the banality of the questions of her interviewer, managed to transcend the limitedness of the whole thing and to convey, to those who had ears to hear and minds to think (there are such people -- not many, but some -- even at the Kennedy School), her own trajectory, and her own views on the Netherlands, Western Enlightenment values, and the dark backward and abysm of Islam.
The Kennedy School Host and Official Interviewer and Defender of the Banal, was one thing. Ayaan Hirsi Ali was quite another.
So what's new here? Divide and conquer is a tactic as old as Methusla. I do get tired of the misunderstandings and the lies though.
I have heard Ms. Mattson interviewed on CBC Radio a few times, and, she's a typical moonbat offering all the usual apologia. Her organization being very much the beneficiary of Saudi largesse, I don't think much digging would need to be done to discover that the ISNA's major benefactors are on record at the Middle East Media Research Institute as having made all sorts of bigotted and hostile comments about Jews, and provide funding for jihad against Israel in particular and all things Jewish in general, so thanks for the caution, Ms. Mattson, but I tend to judge people individually and know some left-wing athiests who are no less hostile and bigotted toward Jews than Mel Gibson and his daddy.

As an evangelical Christian convert to Judaism, I can tell you that this Jew is not! The only Jews I know that lend any credence to radical muslims are the radically liberal, self-hating kind. Unfortunately, there are quite of few of those type of Jews out there.
Funny enough, not a single one of my Christian friends objected to my conversion at all. They even graciously accomodate my religious views when we're together (not preparing pork, praying to G-d without the "in Jesus' name", etc.) I'd like Ms. Mattson to tell me how her muslim contemporaries would accomodate a muslim convert to Judaism?!
I know who my friends are, and I know they're not muslims.
This is such BS its unreal. I was raised as a Christian and I was never taught anything bad about Jews. To the contrary I was told that they were God's chosen people and they had been persecuted since the beginning of time and thats why we should support Israel. I have never even known a anti-semantic Christian (I'm sure that there are some out there because there's wackjobs of every flavor out there) and certainly never heard anything against Jews from ministers or preachers or priests growing up.
Truthfully I have never understood why Jews have always been persecuted. They have always been pacifists much to their detriment (until Israel, God bless her).
Yes Christians will probably always try to convert Jews along with everyone else, but they don't do it by threatening death or subjugation. They generally just come to your door and try to hand you pamphlets about the 'Good News' and you can just say politely "No thanks!" and shut the door. Rarely will the door-to-door missionary blow himself up because of it. lol
I prefer Pat Robertson and Jimmy Fallwell and whoever else that preaches Fire and Brimstone VASTLY over the likes of the assahla kakamamie and osama bitch laden.

I don't understand. As Jews have no dearth of Spirituality. Gnostic Christianity also sounds like Hindus' Vedaantham.
