New York Times runs interference for CAIR

In a fawning article entitled "Scrutiny Increases for a Group Advocating for Muslims in U.S." in the New Duranty Times (aka the New York Times), Neil MacFarquhar plays fast and loose with the facts about the Council on American Islamic Relations, pretending that those who are suspicious of the organization do not have any facts on their side. He says nothing, of course, about the arrests and convictions on terror charges of various CAIR officials, or the Islamic supremacist statements made by other CAIR officials.

Protein Wisdom has an able deconstruction of MacFarquhar's unconscionably irresponsible piece.

Neil MacFarquhar writes only about Islam for the NYT

http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/people/m/neil_macfarquhar/index.html?offset=0&&

This article cannot be excused as the work of a naive reporter

Off topic, the WAPO has a slide-show about the "Nominees for the New Seven Wonders of the World" here is what they say about the Hagia Sophia:

"The sun sets over Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, a church that was first built in 537 B.C. as a Mosque when the city fell to the Ottomans. When Turkish President Kemal Ataturk turned it into a museum in 1935, Christian mosaics covered up by the Muslims were revealed."

WTF?

here is the link, it is picture #18

After the Turkish conquest of Constantinople (1453), Hagia Sophia became a mosque, It not a mosque prior to that time...Muslims hate the truth...

Propose that "New Duranty Times" be renamed -
"New Pravda" -the news for the party elites- and "WaPo" can be the "Novaia Krasnaiaaia Zvezda" ("New Red Star") which is nothing but "New Pravda" light -same propaganda with fewer words -for the average proletarians.
Don't forget to send congratulatory cards/letters to each on the occasion of the rebirth of central control editorship, historical revisionism, and censorship (care of Main Directorate of the Central Organ of Proper Cultural Marxism Information Dissemination via c.a.ir., a.c.l.u. dhimmicrat party and a.c.u., r.i.n.o.s, etc.). Consolidate all "schools of journalism" into one centrally located -somewhere in the mid-east - as only a few "writers" are now necessary (the rest to be dispatched by "black marias" to nearest collective and or State (work) Camps). Re-education camps comming soon to villages all across Arkansas...
Idiots of the world unite and prepare for the knock on your door - around 3 a.m.! All will submit -one way or another until utopia on earth is reality!

That's just bad and sloppy editing. Not intentional. Good Wiki on the Hagia Sofia --->>

Boo hoo, CAIR is being scrutinized. Time for the "mainstream" media to come to its aid yet again with another piece of propaganda to take the heat off. With allies like the still somewhat highly regarded NY Times it's no wonder CAIR and its minions think they can do whatever they like.

Don't you just love how CAIR reps say that they have only a "handful" of critics, and that their critics are Muslim haters?

Personally, I don't dislike all Muslims, I dislike CAIR, their beliefs, their actions, and their dishonesty.

They are only fooling themselves. And, of course, the dingalings who believe their rhetoric.

From the article: "One Arab-American advocate compared CAIR to “the tough cousin who curses at anyone who speaks badly about the family.”

Sorry, but I find no one at CAIR who's all that "tough"....Whiney, busybodied, deceptive, arrogant, yes. But tough? No. They haven't the courage to debate their existence and true mission on stage, and until they can muster that up, they will remain a collection of Muslim crybabies who deserve plenty of scrutiny, and an entity that this nation can certainly do without.

"The group’s officials say the accusations are rooted in its refusal to endorse the American government’s blanket condemnations of Hezbollah and Hamas, although it has criticized Hamas for civilian deaths."
-From the article

CAIR is absolutely correct about that assupmtion. These groups, Hamas and Hezbollah, are defined as terrorist organizations. They are either endorsed or condemned.

Failure on CAIR's part to comdemn them, implies endorsement of them....period. It really is that simple.

The only way CAIR can justify this position, going forward, is if they can convince the US government and the MSM media to change their position, and no longer consider Hamas and Hezbollah as terrorist institutions.

Given the current sad state of affairs, I give them a 50-50 chance.

IslamsForLosers~"Boo hoo, CAIR is being scrutinized. Time for the "mainstream" media to come to its aid yet again with another piece of propaganda to take the heat off."

If I didn't know better (and I do), I'd say that the Times is just trying to cover it's a$$ets. When dealing with CAIR the truth (facts) will get one sued.

Meanwhile, the NYT just lost another 10% of sales.
