Pakistan lodges "strong protest" over Cheney's visit and U.S. remarks on Taliban

Bad dhimmi! "Pakistan Protests US Remarks on Taleban," by Azhar Masood for Arab News:

ISLAMABAD, 1 March 2007 — Pakistan yesterday lodged a strong protest with the United States for interfering in the internal affairs of the country.
US Ambassador to Pakistan Ryan C. Crocker was summoned to the Foreign Office yesterday and handed a strong protest note.
Pakistan said it had taken notice of various statements by US leaders accusing Islamabad of not doing enough against Taleban militants in tribal areas.
During the visit of US Vice President Dick Cheney to Pakistan, Foreign Office spokeswoman Tasnim Aslam had said: “We will not take any dictation from anyone.”

Not-so-neutral wording from the Arab News correspondent:

Meanwhile, NATO and Afghan planes violated Pakistan’s air space yesterday.
[...]
Pakistani forces tried to clear out foreign militants and subdue their Pakistani allies after 2001 and hundreds of people were killed. But the government later signed peace deals aimed at ending the fighting and stopping raids into Afghanistan.
The government of President Pervez Musharraf, a major ally in the US-led war on terrorism, defends the deals and dismisses concern about Talebanization.

Assalamau laikum all,

Pakistan said "it had taken notice of various statements by US leaders accusing Islamabad of not doing enough against Taleban militants."

It should have also added that it had also taken note of the Amerike not doing enough against Taleban militants when he came to visit Bagram.

Meanwhile, NATO and Afghan planes violated Pakistan’s air space yesterday.

Why!!!!

When you need to persue militants into Pak...you give PAF a call....you don't invade someone else's home.

We are on your side ...to a point ...but don't take kindly to someone coming to our house without knocking...take note!

"Why!!!!

When you need to persue militants into Pak...you give PAF a call....you don't invade someone else's home. ""

...Is Pakistan afraid the coalition forces might actually kill a terrorist or "Heaven forbid" accidently kill Osama Bin-Laden or Al-Zawahri?

....I believe Pakistan is hiding something or someone....or both....

....Pakistan is not an "ally" as some proclaim...

"We will not take dictation from anyone."
-- from the statement of the government of Pakistan

Oh, dear. And here we thought that Pakistan was our "staunch ally" (just like Saudi Arabia) in the "war on terror." Here we thought that Pakistan, for a mere $27.5 billion, was helping us to defeat the Taliban, to prevent it from regrouping in Pakistan, and it turns out that the Taliban not only found safe haven in Pakistan, but has been given active support, according to Afghanis in and out of the government, and is back in Afghanistan reinvigorated and re-equipped and with new recruits all the time, that weaponry and many of those recruits coming from within Pakistan.

And what is just as bad, or even worse, save for the odd cosmetic attack to placate the Americans -- attacks of little value, and often on non-al-Qaeda forces, Pakistan is not doing anything about Al Qaeda except helping it. It ended all efforts in the Northwest Frontier region, claiming that this would be a better way -- quite unexplained was how it would be better -- to deal with enemy forces who, the Americans were assured, would naturallly withdraw themselves in tandem with the Pakistani army. Why would Al-Qaeda, and why would the Taliban, behave in such a matter? When have they ever been known to exhibit such a spirit of compromise?

Meanwhile Pakistan spends most of its real effort suppressing the Baluchis in Baluchistan --whose movement for autonomy deserves American support.

"Won't take dictation" eh? Well, then, if Pakistan isn't going to be the dutiful secretary, then it, little Miss Pakistan, should remove its glasses, shake out its hair and display a bit of leg, like secretaries in those old Hollywood movies who are no longer going to "take dictation" but are now going to be calling the shots.

Unfortunately, unlike those fabled secretaries of Hollywood and Vine, or MGM Studios, Pakistan just isn't that attractive. No, in every sense, it is extremely unattractive.

Under the circumstances, the Pakistani government had better reconsider whether or not it is till going to insist that it"won't take dictation." Otherwise we have a right to ask for that $27.5 billion, or a good deal of it, back.

"Dictation" would not be necessary if Pakistan's military would vigorously deal with the Taliban. After all, if the Taliban is hiding and operating in Pakistan is THAT not a violation of its sovreignty? The US does not want to take over Pakistan-the Taliban on the other hand would probably love to do exactly that.

not one more dime....

naseem right a letter to mushy,if he dont want the U.S to "dictate" to him, tell him to get off our tit!!!take our many, and dam well get used to getting "dictated" too.

'money

and,he dont like our planes violating his air?do somethin about it,just tell them first, why so our target can flee?

Interesting...

"CIA: Bin Laden in Pakistan Establishing New Camps
February 27, 2007 6:56 PM

Brian Ross and Z. Byron Wolf Report:

In the most definitive statement in years, America's top intelligence official said Tuesday Osama bin laden is in Pakistan actively re-establishing al Qaeda training camps.

The newly appointed Director of National Intelligence Mike McConnell made the assertion about bin Laden and his No. 2 man, Ayman al Zawahri, in testimony before the Senate Armed Services Committee.

Referring to Pakistan's rugged tribal area, McConnell said "to the best of our knowledge that the senior leadership, No. 1 and No. 2, are there, and they are attempting to re-establish and rebuild and to establish training camps."

Until now, U.S. intelligence officials had declined to publicly identify, with such certainty, the location of bin Laden although he has long been suspected of hiding in Pakistan near the border with Afghanistan.

McConnell's testimony came the day after the CIA deputy director, Stephen R. Kappes, flew to Pakistan to confront President Pervez Musharaff with "compelling" evidence that new al Qaeda training camps were being established on Pakistani territory."

.....I suspect most Pakistaniis already know this.....
''

"Musharraf told Cheney that Pakistan was already doing all it could to fight the militants, his office said. "

...yeah, like giving them peace agreements and non agression pacts.....and telling them when Americans may be near....

"``We deny it,'' Interior Minister Aftab Khan Sherpao told The Associated Press, referring to McConnell's remarks"

...Al-Qae-da rule number one....deny everything...

"President General Pervez Musharraf, however, acknowledged that foreign militants were in Pakistan's tribal regions along the Afghan border and warned them to leave, the state-run news agency reported. It was not clear from the report whether Musharraf named any particular militants."

...hey,....how about trying to shoot them....

We in the USA have 2 things that no other people have, brains and money, it is the only tools we have left to fight this enemy. First we need to move Americans into Dearborn, and they need to be the parents on Service People. That will make the 'home of record' for them as well. 10,000 Americans moving to Dearborn will be the same as 50,000 votes, and that in its self will be a force to be reckoned with. I for one would go there, as I was raised there and have 2 sons in the US Army, in addition to myself, I have asked others to do the same, and I have found a good reception to the idea., as most of my high School friends were pushed out of there as well as myself. Rep. John Conyers can then be voted out of office. Recall that he is the one that introduced a bill that made it illegal to make fun of Islam. In all the US we need to repatriate Americans into the areas where the muz have taken over. If we fail to do this ASAP, we will soon see our Nation in the same fix as Britain.

OK, but just how to do this, that is where our surplus of brains comes into play, someone else’s brains that is.

Assalamau Laikum exsgtbrown, QuadoLama

Your worming and squirming with relation to muslim immigration is interesting. All here read your message...but few if any are moving to action.

A major difference with muslims and infedel is that the infedel is waiting for someone else to do their work. The Hindoo relied on the warrior caste while the infedel waits for the administration caste....you are waiting for your Maha mantrii to make those decisions...decisions of immigration may happen...in 50 years time...when the ISA is in place and your muslim grandchildrens want to ban infedel coming to it.

Islamic hadith says "O Lord, blind the spies of the Quraish to the news of our arrangements, till we overcome them in their land."(89)

Now obviously this is in reference to the vanquished Quraish...all those years ago...nowdays muslims exude and talk peace in the West...we are not spies...we are citizens.

Know that within Islam...every muslim is empowered via the koran...armed with Allah's faith to do their work..which is dawa ...i.e. the spread of peaceful Islam in Hereborn, Thereborn or Dearborn.

Know that Allah has no equal or more merciful...stop saying that which cannot be stopped.

"Button Gwinnett"

You know what they say about his rarissime holograph letters, don't you?

Button, Button, who's got the Button?

...We really need to Ban Muslim Immigration....

your right,we cant stop imigration naseem, but it sure is gunna be fun when the mushy turky shot starts after the next attack hapins, forget about the week government ,you mushy's have never faced any people like the American public before, when we have has enough, the fun will start.

Great post, Hugh.

Naseem:

Thanks for that, but my issue is not with immigration, but with reverse migration. A blood-less civil war. To go out and kill US citizens is just plain wrong and opens the door to them killing us. We need to fight them the same way that we are being moved out of our hometowns, by voting blocks. This we can do by returning to the areas where the islamites have taken over. No small feat, but it needs to be done.

Pakistan continues to be a breeding ground for terrorists and is most likely the hiding place for bin Laden. Terrorist groups operating out of Pakistan may already have taken over al-Qaeda's functions in a global terror network. Operating virtually unmolested under dozens of different identities, they are recruiting, radicalizing, and training young jihadists for future attacks on Western targets. The fact is that Pakistan remains a global center for terrorism linked to al-Qaeda. Time and time again when officials have uncovered plots or made arrests of terrorism suspects there is almost always a Pakistani involved. Pakistan remains politically fragile, and in a chaotic state that increasingly has become a magnet for religious fanatics and terrorists of which there are at least 11 known Islamic terrorists groups identified by the US state department. One group in particular may deserve to be on par with al-Qaeda, that of Lashkar-e-Taiba, that apparently has direct links to al-Qaeda and now serves like a proxy, attracting young Islamic militants to Pakistan, where they receive terrorist training and indoctrination before returning to their homelands programmed to launch attacks of their own. Pakistan's military and intelligence services are also riddled with Islamic extremists who played major roles in establishing the Taliban in neighboring Afghanistan. One possible positive note; Pakistan has revoked visas for any foreigners attending some 13,000 madrassas, which frequently preach the glories of jihad and martyrdom in the name of Islam, and of course D'Sousa would have you believe that these teachings are all about jihadism against the leftist in Western societies; yep take those leftists out of the equations and WALLA no more problems with radical Islam. Still we must try and work with Pakistan, a country with a population of nearly 160 million people and bordering on being 3 times the population of Iran.

Islam is mind control, it controls weak minds, Listen to a Muslim and you can hear...Judge for yourself...If you study current events and research the speeches, view the reports, attend the rallies, talk to Muslims, read the books, study the intellectuals, surf the internet, and do your homework, you can conclude, Islam is not a good thing you want to be around..The evidence is overwhelming....Muslims want your mind and if they cannot control your mind, your spirit, your desire for freedom, then they will seek to simply kill you...They cannot coexist with you in any other way...They do not want tro coexist with you....Just look at Muslim countries, ethnic cleasing at its zenith,no non Muslims, no new churches, no Christian praying allowed, no travelers desired; Muslims continue on a incessant wave of senseless violence killing anybody and everybody for the most illogical and irrational reasons...the barber for telling a joke, the garbage man for picking up trash, the ice cream man, the journalist, the nun, the priest, the tourist, the baker, the tow truck driver, the bystander, the merchant, the student, the teacher, the clerk, the gas station attendant, the politician, the voter, the child, the ambulance driver, the street sweeper, the Jew, The Catholic, The Hindu, The Protestant, The Buddist, The Christian, The Zoroastrian, The Chadian, the black, the red, the yellow,The Englishman, The Polack,The Russian, The Indian, ....well you get the picture...

......Ban Muslim Immigration Now...

Many people in India are pissed off that so much intelligence tying terrorist groups to Pakistan (the land of pure s***) is available but America is doing nothing about it. I have always said this. India will be a much better ally in this war. Indeed, India has its stupid lefty politicians, but it's better than leaders in the Pakistani government supporting the Taliban and other terrorist groups. Why can't American government see that? Perhaps there needs to be an Indian lobby in Congress like there (supposedly) is an Israeli lobby.

wrathofasma

India might be taken more seriously once they stop getting into bed with Iran (hows that pipeline deal via Pakistan going), waxing nostalgic about Saddam, and sucking up to Muslims worldwide in general, including Pakistan (why do they have bus/train services to Bangladesh and Fuckistan?) I have zero sympathy for a country that adapts as its de facto motto, "Love your enemies".

India may be a better ally once they get a leadership that's purged of all Dhimmi elements. For that, you would need a BJP/Shiv Sena alliance, but without any of the other secular allies that they have, who are as dhimmi as the Congress and the Left (e.g. Kashmir's National Conference can't be a member of such an alliance). Even the 7/11 bombings didn't do anything to elicit a response - at least in 1993, the Shiv Sena sent them a clear lesson. Both that, and the lesson of Godhra, seems to be a distant memory, and they are now in need of a reminder.

No, India needs some more successful terrorist attacks that take out not innocent people but dhimmi politicians by the hundreds. Then you might see them grow some cajunes.

Infidel Pride,

So that's what it has come to now. When India needs BJP and the Shiv Sena. Not only do they go after the Muslims, but they go after anyone else who's not Hindu. But I guess they're the lesser evil.

yes we must first ban moslem immigration.
NO MORE mosks on OUR HOLY SOIL!!!!!

They do nothing but defile our lands with their presence!!!!

The troll is pushing buttons. Do not feed the troll.

In Punjab, the BJP is a more than a token part of the Sikh Akali Dal led coalition that just got elected this week. How exactly would they go after Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis, Jews and even Christians (their anti-missionary stance notwithstanding)? When was the last time they did that?

I'm not a Hindutva supporter, since I wouldn't want non-Hindu Indian Infidels to feel out of place in India. To the extent that the Shiv Sena (more than the BJP) has ever targeted non-Muslims (e.g. Hindus celebrating Valentines Day), I condemn them. But I don't see any other anti-Jihadi parties in India, and in the absence of that, I'd support whoever is willing to step up and bat. Also, if it weren't for the Shiv Sena, one would see pro-Islamic movies coming out of Bollywood like clockwork.

And given the lack of a response for 7/11, I'd say that even the Shiv Sena has slackened a lot over the last year.

A Comedy of Terrors

or

From Abject Buffoonery to Supremacist Goonery

We are on your side ...to a point ...

Haa. Moslems are funny, and not to be believed or trusted.

Here's how the allliance really went: Zia got snuffed, and deservedly so. The CIA slid down onto thin ice after that. The Islamists (i.e., practicing Moslems) inside the Paki military and ISI then slapped together a series of proxy governments to pose as a fake ally in order to keep the welfare checks and weapons techology rolling in.

Then, after Russia's foolish adventure in Afghan and yet more CIA major mistake-prone buffoonery. The ISI (aka the Paki government) undertook its Taliban project with USA welfare dollars, weapons, and techniques as components.

Later, Osama declared Global Jihad in his '96 fatwa and things got to rolling from there. In other words, Moslems started getting their way.

Bill & Hillary along with Sandy Berger, then the resident buffoons in the White House, allowed the ISI to use money from the buffoons at State and weapons provided by the buffoons in the Pentagon and the training and logistics provided by the buffoons at CIA set up permanent infrastructure from which the Global Jihad could operate in Afghanistan.

After 9/11 and the Afghan invasion,
the new buffoons in the White House pressured the fake Paki President Musharaff to actually, gasp!, go to "war" against the Jihadists. The Paki military made the best of putting the fake alliance into action, but the ISI was pissed by that point with all the fakery, and so had its Jihadists kill off several hundred Paki "soldiers" --- an unacceptable loss to Pakistan's Moslem population, especially in the name of things as repugnant as honest alliances and freedom.

So, the Pakis had its soliders retreat from their fake mission, and the country reverted to its status as a dormant fake ally that eagerly accepts very real dollars.

Next, the world's newest nation, the Islamic Emirates of Northern Waziristan. al-Qaeda now has its own nation, and is poised to carve out a larger United Islamic Emirates from southern Afghan and western Pakistan.

But nobody has noticed any of this.

"The left wing/liberals in this country do not #1. read, #2. listen, and #3. have opinions based on facts. Their opinions are based solely on feelings"

...Their opinions are base on hate, hate bush, hate individual thinking, hate honest education, hate individual freedom, hate individual desire to get rich, hate successful people, hate people who understand Islam, hate people who can see through their smoke screens and lies..... Islamic Muslisms are proven haters...we have home grown haters which will be proven to be just as harmful to your freedoms as the Islamic terrorist....

Terrorists love leftists, they have even said so...I believe them..

Infidel Pride,

Even the BJP realized the Muslim voting blocs are lean, mean, (sometimes) killing machines so they've decided to pander up to them.

Politics in both the US and India will kill more people in the upcoming years. It will lead to a nuclear attack in both countries. How far is Lucknow from Delhi? Because my relatives there will be screwed if the fallout goes that far. Likewise I will be screwed if a nuke attack happens in San Francisco.

Yo Naseem.

Paks have long since given up. We don't need to ask them anything while persuing our enemies.

They don't deserve the respect they demand.

"This we can do by returning to the areas where the islamites have taken over."

It would be interesting if all the Jews and Christians forced from their lands and farms could be returned....Islam is conducting ethnic cleansing......

...Ban Muslim Immigration...you do not want these people in your neighborhood...

Poor Naseem, I'd hate to think of the future of you and your children. You'd better pray to Allah that the rats you allow to preach and set up camps and maddrassas won't turn on you (oh, wait, they already are!) and eventually overthrow your government. Because this is what will happen if Pakistan does not clean house. And what will happen if the Islamists take over? Peace for you and your family? Well, I can assure you, that either your sect will be persecuted or the US will attack Pakistan's nuclear facilities, and the effects of that will not be good for you. So better yet, you should pray to Allah that US would violate Pakistan's territory to get these terrorists before they affect you.

The United States and India need to launch Operation "Strong Protest" against the Taliban in Pakistan...

npabga

You need not worry about Nasseem's future in the event of an Ismaist takeover of Pakistan. She and her whole family, and millions of other "moderate" Pakistanis will be hotfoot it to the UK, where they will immediately start out to create the conditions that will lead to another Pakistan.

True DP111, I can see this happening, as it will happen when Iraq falls apart when the Coallition leaves, all the more reason for tighter immigration controls.

But I think many Pakistanis could come for treatment when their skin sloughing off. Musharraf has said that his nuclear facilities could with stand a nuclear strike, probably said for the sake for a second strike deterrence.

So if we had to take out these facilities, which the US said they would if something akin to the Taliban or al Qaeda were to take power, we would have to use powerful tactical nukes (the US has not agreed to any "no-first-use" of nuclear weapons). India is aware of this plan, has been giving us information about the locations of Pakistan nukes, and would most likely take part.

However, why again must we clean up the inherent problems within the body of political Islam? Reform now, dang it!!!!!!

If Pakistan does nothing, which they won't, and their is a coup, the onus would be on us to clean up after them. and we are damned if we do it damned if we don't. We either accept Pakistan spreading nukes, or we nuke pakistan pre-emptively, but then we would be expected to accept millions of pakistanis into our countries, since their homeland would be uninhabitable.

It seems like the inherent flaws in Islam is a strength for the Jihadists.

"Islamic hadith says "O Lord, blind the spies of the Quraish to the news of our arrangements, till we overcome them in their land."(89)"

well Naseem, you just blew it. you let us all onto your plans. You violated the hadith. Bad Muslim!

Oh, so if Cheney had come to their country and raped and killed a bunch of people in the name of Allah then the Pakastanis would have been ok with that.

Or had Cheney taught kids in school that it is ok to kill Jews and Americans, that too would have been ok to the Pakastanis.

But how dare Cheney tell them to work harder and be the friend that we are paying them to be. That will cause complaints and retribution.

Notice how everyone only complains about countries that HAVE accountability. No one ever complains about countries that will do nothing. That would be fruitless.

npbga posted: but then we would be expected to accept millions of pakistanis into our countries, since their homeland would be uninhabitable.

Very true, given the current obssesion with PC tolerance of the "other", regardless as to whether the "other" is an enemy.

We didnt have this PC stupidity for most of our past. The enemy was the enemy and that was that. Even as recently as WWII, we didnt allow in millions of Germans and Japanese to invade Britain or the USA after they had been defeated. No way -they had to taste and savour the bitter fruits of defeat. If they were suffering because we had bombed their cities and there was no food - well that was their fault, and had to take the consequence for starting a war and then being stupid enough to lose it. That afterall is the purpose of winning the war - to humiliate and so destroy the morale of the enemy population, that he is unable to contemplate any further resistance for the forseeable future.

If Pakistan or any other muslim nation is destroyed as part of this war, then those are the wages of war. We simply walk away. That will send a lesson to the rest of the Muslim world like no other.

On one point I agree with Nasseem. She is absolutely right when she states that we have become too dependent on someone else to do our work for us. I'm afraid we cannot rely on any government or political party to pull our chestnuts out of the fire. This will have to come down to us the people. Note how ordinary Muslims resident in the West are willing and keen soldiers for Islam.

"...US Ambassador to Pakistan Ryan C. Crocker was summoned to the Foreign Office yesterday and handed a strong protest note..."

No US Ambassador should ever be 'summoned' by some third-world Muhammedan ratbag.

This has to stop. We summon them, not the other way around...

Cheney is not the only one who has pulled Mushy's chain this week.

"ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - Pakistan on Wednesday rejected a claim by the U.S. intelligence chief that Osama bin Laden and his deputy were hiding in northwestern Pakistan, and that al-Qaida was setting up camps near the Afghan border.

Musharraf spoke a day after new U.S. intelligence chief Mike McConnell told a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing that al-Qaida is trying to set up training camps and other operations in Pakistan tribal areas near Afghanistan."

You guys just don't have enough faith in the American know how. Remember we are being betrayed by our own press to believe what they want us to believe. Don't fall for it and sit around and moan that nothing's being done.

Too many people on this site are not looking past the obvious.

Aunt Bea

the Pakis display that finely honed muslims sense of justice and fairplay - they try to whack our VP one day, then upbraid us for interfering in their internal affairs the next...

Dear Defender of Islam:

Legality the Evil America government is in the wrong for violateing than other nation air space against INTERNATIONAL LAW. An we DONOT have the LEGAL RIGHT TO DEFENDER ourself by INTERNATIONAL LAW.

In addition to not being very smart. Your grammer is so screwed up one can only figure out what you are saying by your name at the bottom.
You obviously have either not read any history or it was that goofy kind the Islamics use.

Being Illegal has never stopped the USA (God Bless) in the past and won't in the future. Many of the international laws were created by us to stop the rest of the world from trodding all over each other. If you look hard they are based on our laws.

It was iilegal for the colonists to kick the King of England off their land. A little thing called the American Revolution. And it wasn't exactly legal by today's standard for us to take the whole of the Western USA away from those people south of the border.

Forget it, we are Not weak, we enjoy life more than the people in the cesspool that Islam creates, but that won't stop us from pulling that big old Colt 45 out of that holster if we need to and once it is out we will pull the trigger and say we are sorry later.

American saying:
'It's easier to say I'm sorry than ask permission"

We have lots of $$$$ to say sorry with, and your leaders will accept it, because to them you don't count.

....your comments suggest Pakistan is not an ally and that Pakistan may actually be concealing people or equipment that belong to the terrorist organizations....

Are you saying Pakistan considers America "Evil", perhaps the American government is wrong for sending food, medicine, educational material, clothing for children, and technical help for the Pakistani people...

Are the members of your terrorist group sending anything other than bullets, bombs, or assassins?...

If you are a Defender Of Islam, you are defending an "Evil" concept....In its history, Islam has brought nothing to its people except despair, desolution, death, poverty, rape, torture, incest, cruel taxation, destruction, famine, ugly clothes, and so on and so on....

Need Proof?....Just look at any Muslim led country....look at that countries history and look at the living condition of the people who reside there...none are happy, few are educated, there is virtually no business, poor health abounds, people are terrified to speak, children must be guarded constantly, no one smiles, visitors are not welcome, people cannot enjoy being people....

Maybe you are Christianophobic, maybe you listen to the Islamic clerics (who, by the way , do not care what happens to you),maybe you are ashamed of your life, you could learn to live happily or wisely, but you won't...I can tell...

Ban Muslim Immigration now,..you do not want these people in your neighborhood...

"stop saying that which cannot be stopped."-

Nasseem is correct insomuch as the possibility that there is a drama of inevitability at work in this struggle. It's widely prophesized and believed, by many, that the world's last hours will be spent struggling in toils of war. But there are forces at work, mysterious or even ridiculous though they may seem to some, which are aligning to produce a future which those of Nassem's elk cannot fathom because their vantage point does not allow for the concept of any alternative future scenario, other than the one they espouse, for humanities descendants to follow.
