Qaddafi: "All those believers who do not follow Islam are losers"

No word on whether he extended his right thumb and forefinger in the shape of an "L" and held it up to his forehead to drive the point home. "Gaddafi says only Islam a universal religion," by Salah Sarrar for Reuters:

AGADEZ, Niger (Reuters) - Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi said on Friday that it was a mistake to believe that Christianity was a universal faith alongside Islam.
"There are serious mistakes -- among them the one saying that Jesus came as a messenger for other people other than the sons of Israel," he told a mass prayer meeting in Niger.
"Christianity is not a faith for people in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas. Other people who are not sons of Israel have nothing to do with that religion," he said at the prayer meeting, held to mark the birth of the prophet Mohammed.
Gaddafi, who is seeking to expand his influence in Africa, said his arguments came from the Koran. He led similar prayers last year in Mali.
"It is a mistake that another religion exists alongside Islam. There is only one religion which is Islam after Mohammed," he said in the sermon, which was broadcast live on Libyan state television.
"All those believers who do not follow Islam are losers," he added. "We are here to correct the mistakes in the light of the teachings of the Koran."
Gaddafi also said it was a mistake to believe that Jesus had been crucified and killed. "It is not correct to say that. Another man resembling Jesus was crucified in his place."
Libya grants financial aid to Islamic communities in Africa and elsewhere to build mosques, Islamic schools and facilities.
Libyan state television often shows Gaddafi meeting groups of African men or women telling him they converted to Islam.
The mass prayers, chaired by Gaddafi, came a day after Arab leaders wrapped up a summit in Saudi Arabia. Libya was the only Arab state to shun the gathering.

Shunning Arab influence in North Africa is a good start, but one can't help but suspect Qaddafi is mainly concerned with their stealing his thunder as an influence in the region.

"Libya has turned its back on the Arabs ... Libya is an African nation. As for Arabs, may God keep them happy and far away," Gaddafi has said to explain his boycott of the summit.

And here I thought Bush had made a fool of himself by trying to be the Theologian and Chief.

Gaddafi:
Libya has turned its back on the Arabs...

You should also turn your back on Mohammad, he was an Arab too.

Gaddafi:
Libya is an African nation. As for Arabs, may God keep them happy and far away

Good thought.
That should also include Mohammad.

I am going to guess that Quaddafi, Gaddafi, or Gadfly, or whatever, is one of them there Berbers that Hugh once said that we might be able to woo away from the Arabs and their religion. Well, it ain't happened so far.

Christianity is not a faith for people in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas

Lesee... that leaves: Australia and Antarctica?

Another man resembling Jesus was crucified in his place.

Wow, talk about bad luck!

I like it when he says:

"Libya has turned its back on the Arabs ... "

This means that they are not going to go to Mekka for Hajj, I suppose.
He is here promoting the Arab religion and then comes with those platitudes.
Does gaddafy think people are stupid?

So gadafi gets Africa.. Turkey gets Europe and the SOWdis get India?

Gadafi stopped his nuke research so he can spend more money on mosks and madrazas.

WHY is noone spreading alternative REAL Faiths to African and beyond?

WHY is noone actively aiding and supporting the non-moslems of Africa and beyond?

One of my Chinese friends heard for the FIRST time yesterday that moslems had slaughtered Buddhists. I told her yes I know, they're doing it all the time. when they're not busy cutting the heads off Christian schoolgirls.

She was totally surprised to hear this.

Good for her, she'd become sceptical about islam after much talking-to from little old me.. She's a Berkeley reclamation project so I am a little proud that I've been able to aid in her de-programming.

I don't hear this white men are evil drivel out of her mouth anymore either.. that went out a couple years ao.

Too early though to ask her to come to the demo tomorrow. Even my GF doesn't want to come with me. Oh well!

"As for Arabs, may God keep them happy and far away"

Does anyone remember the play Fiddler on the Roof where Tevye says "may God keep them (the Cossacks) happy and far away from us". Quadaffi is a Fiddler on the Roof fan! How amusing.

Sorry i meant to say she heard that they'd been doing these things in Thailand and in Indonesia. I forgot to ask where she heard this too. Something I will be sure to ask next time we talk.

Another man resembling Jesus was crucified in his place."

Oh, he's confusing "The Greatest Story Ever Told" with "The Life of Brian."

Gaddafi stated, "it was a mistake to believe that Jesus had been crucified and killed. It is not correct to say that. Another man was crucified in his place."

Correction!! It is a mistake to believe that Jesus had NOT been crucified -- and -- another man was NOT crucified in his place. This is a matter of historic record.

Muhammad was not only a liar, murderer and a pedophile, but he has rewritten history too; and anyone gullible enough to follow this lying loser deserves to be lost.

Choose the Truth instead.

Thank you Marisol, that was much needed.

Wow. Did he really use the term "losers"? How junior high school. But then, amazing as it is to actually contemplate, Muslims really are so immature that they really DO think of religion in the sort of competitive terms - we win, you lose - that we associate with junior high school. In fact I recall a prominent Muslim from Texas posting here a while back and expressing PRECISELY that "we win, you lose" understanding of religion. Muslims really ARE that immature. Only, there's nothing remotely cute or charming about it. On the contrary, it's about as cute and charming as Lord Of The Flies.

"All those believers who do not follow Islam are losers"

Sorry Qaddafi, but I take exception to your statement for obvious reasons.

Looks like his mind is still addled after all these years judging from his statement.

To beleve what he said means the writers and people of the Bible (N.T.) all lied and mislead others to bring them to Jesus.

Muhammad taught that use of lies and to mislead is good to help advance islam.

You make the call.

One very good reason to seize, with a few thousand troops, Darfur and the southern Sudan, and to hold both until the population of black Africans, the Christians and the animists in the south, where all the oil now producing can be found, and the nominal black African Muslims of Darfur, who may be keen at this point to rethink their commitment to "Arab" Islam, and may be susceptible to Christian missionaries, have had a chance to vote on a referendum on separating from the Arab Muslims who have been killing some of the southern peoples for twenty years, and those in Darfur for a mere five.

There is plenty to do in sub-Saharan Africa, to propagandize against the Arab slave trade, to urge the black African countries to sue the Arabs for reparations for that cruelest and longest and largest of all slave trades, and in other ways to split the black Africans from Islam.

Is there, in the vast Pentagon, a single room marked "Sub-Saharan Africa" where each country in Africa is marked with pins indicating Muslim and Christian and animist populations, and with the amount of Saudi money that has come in during the last two decades, and further noting of the resources (oil, uranium) and other strategic value of that country? Is there? Because if there isn't there had better be -- and not in five years, or one year, but starting right about a day after someone at the Pentagon -- you know who you are -- finishes reading this posting, and starts talking about the matter to others, higher up.

Black Africa can be taken back from Islam and its Arab masters. Islam can be seen, correctly, as merely a vehicle for Arab imperialsim. It doesn't require much cleverness. But it requires some.

ISLAMSFORLOSERS

Re: the use of the term "losers".

I think Qaddafi may have been invoking that word not in it's typical modern usage ("you're so lame") but in its islamic connotation ("you're going to burn in hellfire"). In the koran "the losers" is utilized several times in reference to those who dare to disbelieve in allah and his prophet, or refuse to follow the commands of allah. If you go to one of the searchable koran sites on the web, and plug in the word "losers" you'll get a lot of hits.

I apologize if you already know this and were just having some fun.

Burgundy Infidel - Actually I didn't know that and so was not intentionally poking fun in my post. But the truth is, it's not all that clear to me why the Islamic "you're going to burn in hellfire" is really all that different from the adolescent valley-girl statement, "Nah nah nah nah nah you're so lame." Other than the fact that the Muslim is willing to cut off our heads to back up his juvenile, competitive claim. But intellectually speaking, I see little substantive difference in their respective claims. Rather, I think that the average valley-girl is a step-up, morally speaking, from the average Muslim who takes this sort of religious "one-upmanship" claim so literally that he is willing to back it up with violence.

Caroline

But the truth is, it's not all that clear to me why the Islamic "you're going to burn in hellfire" is really all that different from the adolescent valley-girl statement, "Nah nah nah nah nah you're so lame."

I agree, it's not, really. Both derive from a juvenile tendency, as you put it. I just wanted to point out that he was using religious terminology that an Arabic-speaking/Islamic audience would recognize.

I think that the average valley-girl is a step-up, morally speaking, from the average Muslim who takes this sort of religious "one-upmanship" claim so literally that he is willing to back it up with violence.

Absolutely.

Several years ago, a European diplomat who had been posted in Libya and had a chance to see Qaddafi close and personal, told me that the Colonel kept a number of slave boys bought from Sudan in his palace. Maybe the ownership of black slaves is part of Qaddafi's, "We're all part of Africa" theme, another chance for Arab Muslims to show just how much they love and respect black Africans.

I wonder how many black people are aware that the Arabs use the word Abd (meaning slave) when referring to them.

Black Americans stupidly believed that idiot Malcolm X who claimed that Islam is color-blind based on his haj experience.

Excerpt from A Thought in the Kingdom of Lunacy

I came home. Greeted my father and my sweet, sweet brother, T. And the first thing that came out of their mouths was, “9erty 3abdah!” (translation: you’ve gone black! - but the actual translation for the second word “3abdah” is slave – not a very nice way to refer to dark skinned people, but this is Saudi Arabia and nice is an alien concept here)…

"There are serious mistakes -- among them the one saying that Jesus came as a messenger for other people other than the sons of Israel," - Gaddafi

What does the Bible say?

"I will also make you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring my salvation to the ends of the earth." - The Lord God of Israel (Isaiah 49:6)

"Therefore I want you to know that God's salvation has been sent to the Gentiles, and they will listen!" - the Apostle Paul (Acts 28:28)

Looks like Gaddafi got that one wrong.

"Gaddafi also said it was a mistake to believe that Jesus had been crucified and killed. "It is not correct to say that. Another man resembling Jesus was crucified in his place."" - Gaddafi again.

So, Mr. Gaddafi believes that the hundreds who wittnessed His crucifixion and resurrection were "mistaken". Most of them, including eleven of the Apostles, willingly went to their deaths to spread the message of salvation amongst the Israelites and Gentiles.

While it is not uncommon for people to die for their beliefs, whether these beliefs be true or not, no one willingly goes to their deaths to preach something they know isn't true.

Not to mention this supposed Jesus "look alike" fooled His own Mother & family? Sorry but Islam's attempted hijack of Jesus is such a idiotic joke...I will laugh long and hard.

ROFL!!!

Jihadee go home!!!

Ironic, for Mr. Qaddafi to say this since tommorrow starts the most important week in the Christian calendar, Holy Week, and since it is also April 1st I am not fooling in this posting.

Christianity is not a faith for people in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas. Other people who are not sons of Israel have nothing to do with that religion,

hey Gahdify,, with that statement, then l would logical say islam and muhammud are for arabs only.
as Hugh and others pointed out, arabic people are the preferred flavour for islam.

Qaddafi forgets that it is the Christian faith that is growing by leaps and bounds in Africa, Asia, and Latin America bigtime. For this it is the true fastest growing faith, not Islam. Qaddafi is a crazy fool to believe otherwise.

Qaddifi forgets also that Jesus does commands the apostles to go out and preach the good news of the Gospel to ALL to the ends of the earth.

Gaddafi also said it was a mistake to believe that Jesus had been crucified and killed. "It is not correct to say that. Another man resembling Jesus was crucified in his place."

Gaddafi just proves by his statement that Islam denies that Jesus Christ willingly hung on the cross for the sins of mankind. So Islam denies attonement for sin. Satan must be dancing.

HOWEVER

Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

1 John 2:22

Qur'an 23:91 Allah has not taken to Himself a son, nor is there with him any (other) god - in that case would each god have taken away what he created, and some of them would have over-powered others.

1 John 5:10 He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son.

Also we must remember that ALL the Christian churches this year are celibrating Easter on the same day, April 8th. Since Satan was and is defeated by both the Holy Cross and the Precious Blood of Jesus, he knows that the end of him at last at the end of the age is coming, so he is going to attack thru nonsense coming from the mouths of people such as Quaddifi.

Re: "Gaddafi says only Islam a universal religion,"

Islam is at its core Arab Imperialism. It is the Rationalization-System that permitted the conquest, subduing and even the extermination of people from India to Spain and elsewhere. History is full of such rationalization systems for the subduing or extermination of some lately "indigenous people". But Islam is the most efficient Rationalization-System invented by humans for that purpose (for the subduing, exploitation, or extermination of a "native" culture or people).

Islam even has the African Negros in Darfur (those being exterminated) bowing to their Arab-Semite-Caucasian masters at Mecca. The Rationalization-System has also convinced the exterminators (many obviously have African Negro ancestry) to identify with their Arab-Semite-Caucasian masters. No doubt, Gaddafi considers the Africans inferior to the Arabs, who are "the best people". But "war is deception".

There is no way this bum Gaddafi believes African Negros equal to Arabs. If you believe that I got a bridge in Brooklyn and I'll sell it to you.

Arabs are very racist.

And Jesus said:
“I am the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIGHT and NO ONE comes to the Father except thought me” (John 14:6)

Not by mohammed, Mickey Mouse or anything this proven moron, Qaddafi, might presume to say.

Qaddafi is simply (and tragically) DEAD wrong! May God forgive him!

'And Jesus said:
“I am the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIGHT and NO ONE comes to the Father except thought me” (John 14:6)"

Yes, but Jesus also said (from the Gospel according to Luke)...

"25 And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying, "Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?"

26 He said unto him, "What is written in the law? How readest thou?"

27 And he answering said, "`Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind, and thy neighbor as thyself.'"

28 And He said unto him, "Thou hast answered right; this do, and thou shalt live."

------------

So which is it?

Gaddafi also said it was a mistake to believe that Jesus had been crucified and killed. "It is not correct to say that. Another man resembling Jesus was crucified in his place.

Yep, all you Christians should cast your beliefs aside and follow a 7th century pirate who was dead 200 years before anyone wrote down any of his "wisdom".
The followers of Jesus were so sure of His resurrection that they gave their lives in the most horrible ways rather than to deny Him. They were eye-witnesses.

Call me William.

No, I do not make my statement on behalf of Islam or the Qur'an. I am not a Muslim, nor am I a spokesperson for Islam like some of the media appear to be.

All I am saying is that in Luke He says one thing and in John He says something different.

This isn't about a knife at a gunfight.

It is about reading what the Scriptures tell you.

Jesus said:

"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."

Mohammad said:

"Strike at their necks."

Which is it?

Shahryar ,
Thank you for that quote.
I used it on another site, hope you don't mind (didn't use your nic)

William, Jesus spoke cryptically at times to avoid arrest. He never lied, He just let the questioners answer their own questions. He gave His life willingly when He had accomplished all He came to accomplish. Jesus spoke plainly about who He was, it got Him crucified.

"Christianity is not a faith for people in Africa,Asia,Europe and the Americas. Other people who are not sons of Israel have nothing to do with that religion." -Qaddafi

"Mark what I say! Many will come from the east and the west and will find a place at the banquet in the kingdom of God with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob." -Christ (Matt 8:11)

TFY -

You stated, "Which is it?" (Luke or John)

Both!

Both passages in John and Luke are correct, and to be quite honest with you, I don't see your point. Are you claiming a contradiction within these two passages? Because there isn't one.

Why are you raising these two passages, and why do you think a choice has to be made between them? Please explain.

Jesus also said, "I and my Father are One, no one comes to the Father except through me."

Does that answer your question?

In today's Gospel reading for the Roman Catholic daily mass, in verse 52 of chapter 11 of John's gospel, it is said that Jesus was going to suffer and to die not only for the nation of Isreal but also so that the dispersed children of God can gathered once again. Also Mr. Gaddifi forgets is that Christ commands his disciples before he accended into Heaven to go and make disciples of all the nations. So Mr. Gaddifi is in complete error.

I wonder how many black people are aware that the Arabs use the word Abd (meaning slave) when referring to them.

Abd from Wikipedia:

"This term, literally "slave" in Arabic, is used as a slur against Blacks and persons of mixed African descent. Usage is consistent with the Arab institution of black slavery that lasted from approximately 900 to 1962."

"So Mr. Gaddifi is in complete error."

Amen to that!

Honestly, what would we do without Col. KaDaffy? (I like the George Bush Sr. pronunciation of his name.) He's just about the most entertaining despot on the planet today: the fashion-victim wardrobe; the fembot security detail. It's like Ian Fleming wrote him.

Question: it's obviously plausible, but is it really true he goes full-drag in private?

Burgundy Infidel, Caroline,

These Muslim spokesmen sound like talking Korans. They (or those who translate the statements) seem to use the exact same terminology as is used in English translations of the Koran. I recall a while back Ahmedinejad said of non-Muslims "they are like cattle--nay worse than cattle," which is directly from 7:179. One of the mullahs also gloated about Hizballah's attacks last summer against Israel, stating the party of Allah will be victorious (which is from 5:56; and Hizb'Allah of course means Party of Allah). Apparently the statements of these leaders have been tailored to suit their audiences and to translate a certain way in English.

"Losers" in the Koran refers to disbelievers in the sense that they have lost in the world and in the hereafter, insofar as both are ruled by Allah/Islam. Disbelief eradicates deeds or works, thus their works amount to nothing, will not avail them, their "scales are light," lose their souls, etc. Therefore Allah burns them in hell because they disbelieved; disbelief is considered the worst crime. In the world the Koran states that they will have no protectors, they are cursed, humiliated, subjugated (e.g., dhimmitude and jizya 9:29), disgraced, enslaved, or killed through Allah-directed natural disasters or through the hands (swords) of the believers (9:14) striving in his cause.

Mr. Gaddifi and anyone else who denies the truth of the passion and resurection of Jesus should be gentlely reminded from a certain passage in scripture that will be read at many Palm/Passion Sunday masses, divine litugies, and worship services since this year the Christian Holy Week/Easter holy days will all come together this year, 2007. What a great message of the need for not only full Christian unity and its hope but also as a witness to the truth of the good news of the Gospel. Ponder this Mr. Gaddifi, repent and believe!

Philippians 2

Imitating Christ's Humility

" 5Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
6Who, being in very nature[a] God,
did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
7but made himself nothing,
taking the very nature[b] of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
8And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
and became obedient to death—
even death on a cross!
9Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father."

Champ,

God Bless you!

"Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi said on Friday that it was a mistake to believe that Christianity was a universal faith alongside Islam"

I agree. Christianity is not a universal faith alongside Islam.

Islam is a perversion of what we commonly call a religion. It is an immoral belief system that promotes everything that is anathema to most people of faith.

Nothing is alongside it because nothing else is quite as twisted.

It is about time for Gaddafi to draw another "line of death."
