Muslim women wearing the niqab or burka - veils that hide the face entirely - will be allowed to vote in the Quebec elections, without showing their face. That's the directive from the Director general of elections, despite the fact it goes against the electoral law. Typically a voter is to present photo-I.D. But women wearing a full-face veil will have to either swear that they are who they say they are - or have an adult with them verifying their identity.
In this Quebec authorities are going even farther than their future masters are yet demanding:
But Sarah Elgazar, from the Canadian Council on American Islamic Relations, says it's an interesting directive, but not necessary. She says very few women wear niqabs or burkas in Quebec, adding they're used to having to reveal their faces at banks, for example, provided it's in front of a woman.
Good reason for Quebec to be its own country.

And what will they swear on? A Bible? A Koran? Even if it's a Koran can such an oath be believed?
One thing I can't believe is this story-the foolishness just gets worse and worse.

Well Hoja, Muslim women BARELY exist even in ISLAMIC societies anyway - practices such as veiling assure that! For that matter, since men are assumed by the practice to be loathsome beasts controlled by base desires, unable to control them - and apparently not responsible for controlling them, since its so much easier to hide the woman, just like any other piece of property - men fare little better.
Since you want to distort Robert's position, let me do one better than Robert in reply. If it were up to me, no Muslim - man or woman - would be allowed to vote, or hold citizenship - anywhere in the Western world.

Hoja you must be completely insane! How can you make a leap from someone being concerned about electoral laws being broken to accommodate Muslims, and having women non existent in western countries.
Sorry to even give you attention but you must be out of your mind. If you want to bring an argument to the table bring one that makes sense and can be debated.
How can you think that it is OK to vote without showing your face. Every time I vote I have to show my drivers licence or some picture i.d., but you seem to think that Muslims obviously hold a higher place in this world than the rest of us, and therefore should be exempt.
These complaints of being picked on are embarrassing, I'm embarrassed for you. Go cry a river and return to your native countries if our laws aren't good enough for you.
Hoja: So, what have you done lately to help women attain fair and equal treatment in Muslim countries? Or, for that matter, what have you done to help non-Muslims in Muslim countries achieve anything other than second-class citizenship? Mr. Spencer is not the problem. However, I will concede that the government of Quebec has a problem, which they have just made worse by the latest election ruling.
People should protest in Quebec by showing up on voting day wearing halloween masks and demanding their 'right' to hide their face
O, Canada, why stop half way? A Muslim woman's testimony is only worth half that of a Muslim man's. As long as Canada is going to permit these women to take their religious beliefs into the voting booth in violation of Canadian law, then their votes should only count for half of a man's.
This really bothers me because it creates two sets of rules: one for Muslims and one for the rest of us. Muslim women don't have to prove their identity but the rest of us do. This is wrong. It seems to indicate that Muslim women have more of a right to vote than non-Muslim women.
The last time I voted, for some reason I wasn't sent a voter's card. I brought my passport and a piece of mail with my name on it but the person at the desk still wanted my birth certificate to prove I was born in Canada. Why should it be any different for anyone else? Are we not equal under the law?

All my life I have listened to Quebec whine and complain, and been sickened and outraged at the way successive Canadian governments have tried to appease them by giving them money, money, and more money - OUR money, taxpayers money. For 200 years they have been threatening to separate from Canada until the rest of the country would be glad to see the back of them. I have always said of Quebec, sh*t or get off the pot, but just shut up about it !
It seems they have a lot in common with muslims. I thought maybe some Quebecers - the ones in Herouxville - had actually grown a pair. But now, after this, they can separate and take all the muslims in Canada with them when they go.
When Quebec separates from Canada, the Islamists will take over like they did with France. They will bring the Quebecers to their knees. Down the road it might be a decision they will regret.
Quebec will end up like Lebanon where the Hezbollah Islamists will exist within the Government while having terrorist fire rockets into the USA and hide among civilians in apartment

CAIR already has terrorism links and is working witin the US and they could easily have spotters report to Hezbollah on where the rockets landed to correct their aim to murder more civilians.

Apparently this decision has been overturned, inpoart because disgruntled non-Moslems threatened to show up at the polls wearing masks!
Jean Charest, Liberal leader in la Belle Province, seems to take issue with the reversed decision. If I were in Quebec, I'd want him to explain such a position, one that potentially jeopardizes the election process. In Western culture, masks are worn by those who are up to no good. The niqab might be necessary in a culture where women are considered to be possessions and unveiled women simply uncovered meat. But that isn't here. And the use of the veil should not be used as a toehold to give that type of mentality any sort of legitimacy here. Shame on you Mr. Charest.
I will tell you what will happen... The Muslims and jihadists will support the sovereignty movement. Muslims love to support "causes". They see an opportunity to form an independent Muslim country and will support the sovereignist movement. The "Yes" side will win the referendum and Quebec will separate. Meanwhile, the jihadists will hijack the Quebec agenda. Force the Sharia law and in turn Quebec WILL become a strict Muslim country like Nigeria. Oh sure, there will be a civil war, but it won't be against the separatists and the federalists... It will be against Islam. I am afraid that Quebec will not have their own country, unless they want to call it Quebecistan. In Canada we have Calgaristan, Torontostan, Montrealistan, Vancouverstan, and soon Quebecistan.
