Saudis to Israel: Surrender first, and then we'll negotiate

Friend and Ally Update: "Saudis spurn Israel peace stance," from BBC News, with thanks to all who sent this in:

Saudi Arabia has rejected calls by Israel for changes to be made to a Saudi-led plan for Middle East peace.

Israeli officials have recently expressed interest in the proposal, adopted by the Arab League in 2002, while voicing some reservations.

The plan calls for Israel's withdrawal from land seized in 1967 in return for ties and a peace deal with Arab states.

But Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal described preconditions raised by Israel as "ludicrous".

"We only hear conditions from Israel about everything, but no acceptance," Prince Saud told reporters during a visit to Riyadh by EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana.

"You cannot have negotiations like that, you accept the proposals then you talk about this.

"This seems a ludicrous way of doing business," he said.

No, what's ludicrous is the idea that one must accept disadvantageous proposals as a precondition for negotiation.

"a peace deal with Arab states."

...no reason to think this would work...centuries of peace deals with Arab States and not one has been honored....

You can not negotiate with Arab Muslims.

sometime, perhaps the west will take over saudi arabia. poof.

No Israel, do not surrender. The Saudis are only making an offer of surrender because of their weakness...only to grow stronger and march over you later on. After all, their Prophet was just a commonplace cheat.

The Islamically wronged world will one day, with the alliance of Israel and (a willy nilly) India will humble Islam.

Yes of course, I am always more successful at getting thing done when I put the cart before the donkey.

the saudi prince speaks of israel's ludicrous "preconditions" and israel's non-"acceptance", yet are not the demand of israel's withdrawal from 1967 territory also "preconditions"? and why is israel expected to recognize the palestinian unity government, but hamas is not required to recognize israel? double-standard?

the hypocricy of the saudis and the arab league is unbelievable, but sadly typical.

Fugguetaboutit!

The Israelis will nickel and dime this proposal to death.

To death!!!!

Much as I'm a red-blooded Islamophobe...

Please don't spray perfume on the other Semitic Tribe. The ones on the East Side.

You know who I mean.

No,ludicrous is the US constantly bowing to the wishes and demands of the Saudi royals. How many times have Americans been summoned to that bastion of the ummah because something displeases the fat cats there? Of course the Saudis don't see it that way-it's their Illah given due to have a so-called superpower bow and scrape at their feet like dhimmis.

Saudis to Israel: Roll over and die.

"I summon my blue-eyed slaves anytime it pleases me. I command the Americans to send me their bravest soldiers to die for me. Anytime I clap my hands a stupid genie called the American ambassador appears to do my bidding. When the Americans die in my service their bodies are frozen in metal boxes by the US Embassy and American airplanes carry them away, as if they never existed. Truly, America is my favorite slave."
King Fahd Bin Abdul-Aziz, Jeddeh 1993

If this is true....it is the most disturbing thing I have read in a long time.

Checked out your link. Absolutely disgusting. The US not only grovels to this pimpocracy but defends it on every level. The more I see and read about Saudi Arabia the more appalled I become. I think I have more respect for the Iranian monkey man than for these wretched cretins. Only the palestinians rank lower in esteem as far as I'm concerned but that too may change with more stories like these.

The point in this story is; Why has Olmert so weakened the Judean military that they are begging for crumbs?

This kind of weakness causes real wars and usually drags America into the middle.

"Israeli officials have recently expressed interest in the proposal, adopted by the Arab League in 2002, while voicing some reservations.

The plan calls for Israel's withdrawal from land seized in 1967 in return for ties and a peace deal with Arab states."

Interest? What kind of imbeciles express interest in such a deal? Land for peace? Really, how many times will Israeli imbeciles fall for that one?

"Ties . . . with Arab states?" An offer that can be--that SHOULD be--refused.

Hope (for peace with the Arabs) lives eternal in the breast of those in successive Israeli governments suffering from diminished mental capacity. (Or are they still trying to please the hemorrhoids of the "Quartet" trying to revive the "road map?")

Then there are those in the Israeli government that have business deals with the Arabs--and put those before the lives of Israeli Jews or the continued existence of Israel. (Peres's name leads all the rest.)

And then there is Olmert, who is incompetent and corrupt.

Not the US's and the UK's governments can serve as a shining example to the Israelis on how to deal with a mortal enemy.

Yes Olmert is weak, but It is not Bush that it the problem in the USA, here is the problem, we live in a society where people will do anything to avoid war and we will pay for it.

"Still, if you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than live as slaves." -Winston Churchill

Bad little dhimmis. /sarc off

No acceptance my FOOT! My foot up your fat SOWdi glob!

I hope to live to see the day that Israel and others who have suffered under islam will take the fight to the heart of the enemy. Occupy Mecca, I mean liberate it. isn't that where mahomet first started killing Jews and other 'infidels'?

so the Jews have a RIGHT to take it back. It is rightfully THEIRS.

ACCEPT that, you SOWdi swine!

If the saudis way of negotiating is the way it's supposed to be then why hasn't psalistine and the other freak muslim hell holes signed on the dotted line a long time ago?

Perhaps Haliburton after it moves to saudi arabia can help them be more persuasive towards the israelies.

I guess with haliburton moving to saudi they can pool thier lobbying energies together faster and subtract a few annoying steps along the way.

Or maybe Haliburtons security services can work a little harder at keeping the King and his favorites safe from the frankenstein they created.

Once again i feel the need to ask...WHY IS IT THAT SAUDI ARABIA AND IRAN ARE NOT GETTING THE BILL FOR THE WAR ON TERROR?

This is all thier baby not ours.I think we are occupying Saudi Arabia and need to go.

And all that jazz.

Also PROUD HINDU i agree one day and hopefully soon islam will recieve the reward it's been seeking.

Monsters rising all the time!

Negotiate with Muslims? Somebody needs to sit this guy Olmert down in an isolated room and pound some Islamic history into his head. Like liberals everywhere, he ignores history and fails to project consequences of his proposals.
