Al-Andalus means all of the territory once conquered, for however long, by the Muslims (Arabs and Berbers). Since Muslim armies made it deep into France, and were stopped only outside of Poitiers in 732, Al-Andalus is in Arab minds and historical myths all of Spain, and not merely, say, Spain from Madrid south, much less modern-day Andalucia.

I believe it was the last area of Spain that was re-taken by the Christians during the Reconquista. It is not clear to me if Al Andalus means (to Muslims) the entire Iberian Peninsula, which the Muslims at one time controlled damn near all of it.

The islamic movement in Spain is largely powered by a group of approx 1000-1500 native Spanish converts who know how to work the system better and are more organised than the immigrant muslims.
It is these converts, mainly based in Granada, who push for more mosque-building and state support for their 'culture' and who had their greatest success when the Granada mosque was finally opened in 2003 - financed by petrodollars and all the usual suspects.

The Murabitun sees itself as the representatives of the oppressed - the poor, debtors, anti-globalisation activists etc.
As stated above, it was these converts who started the push for the reconquista of Granada as a first step with the help of certain Arab governments, the Partido Communista of Spain and the Izquierda Unita (United Leftists). These latter two mourn with the Muslims every 2nd January, the date Christendom celebrates the Reconquista.
The Murabitun are also active in Germany, again the leader is a convert, Andreas Abu Bakr Rieger, who associates openly with Milli Goros and is active in the Association of Muslim Lawyers which attacks 'corrupt financial systems'. I had always wondered at the phrase "the Moors" who invaded Spain. What country was that? Was there a country Moor? No. The history books always call them Moors, but they are muslims and should be called muslims, not Moors. FEDERAL police are investigating an anti-Islamic website that calls on supporters across Australia to oppose a mosque planned for North Cairns.
The "Winds of Jihad" website, created by a Cairns man who calls himself Sheik Yer’Mami, includes instructions to "do whatever it takes to stop them (Muslims) from spreading their tentacles".
It also urges opponents of a mosque being built at 31 Dunn St, opposite the Pioneer cemetery, to launch a public campaign against the development.
The Far North’s Muslim spiritual leader Imam Abdul Aziz labelled the website as "vulgar", saying he contacted the Australian Federal Police yesterday to alert them to the website.
He said the AFP was investigating the website because of its offensive and racist content.

Are you guys serious? Spain is totally lost. I have been living here for like 26 years and even spaniards do not give a shit to the lost of the land. Most of spaniards are pro-palestinians and support the arabs wanting this country. I am serious. The rest are neutral. Hey i2345 i feel your pain and I live here as well but I unlike you see this in perspective. I think your depression in the face of this seeming ambivalence of the Spanish people is unwarranted and dare I say shows a lack of understanding of history and human nature.
The Spanish and other Europeans do NOt feel threatened at the moment, even after 11/3 - it will take more "events" to create REAL fear for the future in their minds.

Hi Johnmac. I do understand what you are saying and I hope you are right. But I truly doubt it because it happened with March 11th. We get killed, we become cowards. That has always been the Spanish answer since the transition to democracy. Of course I am not saying the Dictatorship was better. However I really doubt the masses are going to react. Besides...for how long have we been into that problem anyways? Not only with the Islamic terrorism now, but with ETA? Nobody said a word until very recently. 12345, as someone who has gone through exactly the same emotions as you and rediscovered some degree of hope I would suggest you have a good long deep look at recent events even by the PC brigade in Europe, we are at the end of the begining, the lies of Islam are there in the open, the cat is out of the bag, now there is just policy and degrees of violence.
Europe thought it could just show the Muslims the way to modernity, but it needed more than that, what is happaning is that the Muslims are showing this is not working, and even worse the natives are starting to get pissed, I see it around me, even ardent lefties will agree that Islam is a huge problem and this is Dhimmi France.
We are at a point where eveything will soon change.
I'm also a little more optimistic about Spain than most. This is because I am looking at the cycles of Spanish history. Spain has had idiotic corrupt regimes in the past. Just look at the Second Spanish Republic (1931-1939) which was so leftist, it makes Zapatero look like a neo-con. Yet everytime the situation got too bad the Spanish returned to their traditional roots and rose up to face the threat. The same will happen again.
The leftist Spaniards simply aren't reproducing while traditional Catholics are still having children. This means that in one more generation, traditionalist Spaniards will again be a majority. Then we may see large numbers of Spaniards again singing the "Cara al Sol" and rising up to expel the Muslims just like they did under El Cid and Bl. Isabel of Castille.

I am writing this from my Lab in Spain- where I regulary challenge the ambivalence of the people here by "educating" them about the truth of "the religeon of peace" Its up to us as individuals to do this work. I tell them in no uncertain words that "islma is evil" and slowly they are begining to understand.
In some ways I do understand your pessimism but I say this - the only way to predict the future is to look at the past. The past of Europe shows that we are a violent bloody people and I know that we have not changed - this thin veneer of PC restraint can be ripped away suddenly to reveal our true nature -I used to hate these things about our past now I see they just might save us.

To be honest I have heard some lefties from France, telling such things. You may be right. I hope you guys are cause otherwise...We are in big trouble.
As for Johnmac, you certainly have a point there, about our bloody past. I also looked at it with shame in past, but someday I realized how bad we could be at this moment if the muslims had not been kicked out in time. We could be in a very hideous situation, similar to Morocco...wishing to be something similar to Turkey. But you know what? When I have talked about that specific time in History to some old friends, they seem to hate characters like El Cid or the Catholic King and Queen. The best tool is showing Islamic history as it is, doing what Mr Spencer and others do so well, what islam really is in its own words. No we are winning, but its damn slow. People are not fools, you can't keep killing people in the name of Islam and people to still belive that religion of peace pap.

I couldn´t agree more with you. Islam will probably remain as the National-Socialism ideology or similar in the History books, hopefully. Hope to see the end of it to make sure my children won´t have to fight it.
Another thing that really freaks me out is the Iranian nuclear development. Do you guys think they are going to be stopped by the US or on the contrary, the US won´t do anything just because the whole world is against them? I know it kind of gets out of topic but...hehe sometimes, for some strange reason I think of my country being nuked too. A pictured of Europe totally castrated, without the Spanish Peninsula. Sometimes I wonder what would happen if that happened and how the world would react under such an attack to any country of the world at a nuclear or biological level. Would the US respond with nukes? Would we just try to get moderated again and try to solve everything by peace? I don´t know, I think about it such as...a deterrent to stop some Iranian invasion and so on by showing nuclear terror only in one specific country and wipe it out and scare the rest of the world. Probably Israel would respond before that happened...they have some of the best intelligence with the Mossad anyways.

The USA is already doing something against Iran the screws are being tightened, sooner or later the shooting will start, you can start to see the weakness in the Iranian position. The issue is that the Persians still have a culture pre-Islamic and the trick is to de-Islamicise them, which the Islamic Republic has largely done and then make sure that the Iranians are strong enough to defend themselves. I think that Iran has a much greater chance of success in regards to the democratic process as thy have had their dose of the joys of Sharia, we should use that.
As for Nukes, well it has been made clear by France the position of the West.

Yes you could read it as a strong response, but it was typically French in being strong words showing a weak hand. Chirac should have been saying it was unacceptable for Iran to have Nukes, but he was showing acceptance and I am sure that the Iranians read it that way. This was proved by his comments later when he said that he did not have a problem with Iran having one or two bombs, which shows yet again he is past his sell by date.
