KHARTOUM (AFP) - Iran and Sudan's presidents, whose hardline regimes are under intense international scrutiny, struck a defiant pose on Thursday in the face of Western pressure vowing to defeat the "enemies of Islam."
"We are determined to foil the conspiracies aimed at planting the seeds of discord among Muslims," Sudanese President Omar al-Beshir said at a press conference with his Iranian counterpart, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Wrapping up a two-day visit to Khartoum, the Iranian leader echoed Beshir's words: "We proclaim our desire to solve the Muslim world's woes... and rise up against attempts to sow discord in its midst."
Beshir lent his full support to Iran's nuclear programme, which the West fears Tehran wants to use for military purposes, while Ahmadinejad lashed out at the "enemies of Islam" and accused the West of seeking to destabilise Sudan.
In a joint statement, they drew "the world's attention to Israel's possession of nuclear weapons" and called for a Middle East free of weapons of mass destruction.
During a meeting with Sudanese clerics Wednesday, Ahmadinejad launched into one of his trademark diatribes against the Jewish state.
"Zionists are the true incarnation of Satan," he was quoted as saying by Iran's official news agency.
"The Zionist regime was created by the British, brought up by the Americans and commits crimes in the region with their support," he said.
The two leaders discussed the latest developments in Iraq, Lebanon and the Palestinian territories while their delegations agreed to enhance trade ties and other fields of cooperation, including culture.
Iran's ambassador to Khartoum, Reza Amiri, said before Ahmadinejad's trip that he hoped business partnerships could help increase the volume of two-way trade to 70 million dollars a year from 43 million dollars now.
However, an issue that has also been at the heart of Iran-Sudan ties is military cooperation, with Sudanese Defence Minister Abdel Rahim Mohammed Hussein having visited Iran three times over the past year.
According to press reports, Sudan has shown interest in acquiring Iranian missiles and unmanned aircraft.

What is amazing is that the local police themselves have admitted that the killing of Kumar Pandian was executed in a planned and methodical manner after keeping a close watch over his movements. The police have been able to arrest two Islamic terrorists called Hanifa and Abdulla in this connection. It is understood that these two terrorists told IG Sanjeev Kumar: "The only issue was the construction of a Palli Vasal (Mosque) near the Kasi Viswanatha Swami Temple in Tenkasi. That is why we killed Kumar Pandian". Both the murderers and Kumar Pandian were friends. The irony is that one of the two murderers called Abdulla was a Hindu and converted to Islam only about six months ago. Abdulla was known as Murugesan before conversion. His father is Karuppiah Pillai and mother is Mariammal. They live in Achanpudur village near Tenkasi. Karuppiah Pillai has said: "The moment I got the news that my son has converted to Islam, I made it clear to him not to set foot on my house again. Hanifa is responsible for my son's conversion and it is he who took my son to places like Coimbatore and Mannadi and trained him in the methodology and acts of terrorism. He has converted my son into a murderer."
During the enquiry, when the police asked Hanifa and Abdulla as to why they murdered their known friend Kumar Pandian, they coolly replied: "When we are called upon to choose between our Islamic Faith and Friendship, there is no hesitation about the answer. That is why we voted for our faith and killed our friend."
Muslim unity? The Islamic government along with their Jackaweed henchmen are slaughtering thousands of "black" Muslims who just aren't Muslim enough according to their Jiahdist standards. Shame the Romans weren’t about when Muhammad came out of his cave with a cunning plan. They wouldn’t have been arsed worrying about the jihadists feelings, they would have fed em to the lions. Islam is a typical human rationalization system that was set up for conquest, exploitation, cultural destruction, deception, and genocide. Every group makes such things holy. There is not one nation, not one empire in history, that has not been founded in violence and often by the extermination of some recently "indigenous people". I just wanted to get that outrageous bit of bovine fecal matter out of the way before anyone countered with it. We fought the Nazis to victory and did not ourselves become Nazis. End of story.
Terrorists must be paid in their own coin. It is the only currency of value to them. Their attempts to impose dhimmitude amounts to nothing more than collective punishment. It is time for Islam to receive an unequivocal demonstration of collective punishment's ultimate ramifications.
A.) Each terrorist action results in attacks upon a hostile Muslim majority country which kills between 10 and 100 times the number of victims lost in the West.
B.) Significant terrorist atrocities result in both massive retaliation against Muslim civilian populations and tremendous damage to surrounding infrastructure (i.e. dams, power generation, industrial capacity)
C.) Use of NBC (Nuclear, Biological or Chemical) weapons result in a larger application of similar type to one of the Islamic shrines. Medina should serve as a primary target with contamination or destruction of Mecca itself held in reserve as a future threat.
D.) Actual use of a nuclear weapon (as opposed to a radiological or "dirty" bomb), must result in the obliteration of an entire Muslim majority nation. Use of neutron bombs would be preferred so as to minimize structural damage for later repopulation.
The Muslim world must learn to dread even small terrorist attacks upon the West. They must understand that the only route to safety is by slitting the throats of violent jihadists before their acts endanger the ummah.
I maintain that actually taking the Islamic shrines at Medina and Mecca as physical hostages may yet prove to be a viable method of countering terrorism. Lay seige to each site and starve out their entire population. Fence each location with a kill zone of robotic automatic weapons fire and landmines.
For every 13 calendar months without a single terrorist attack, permit the haj to occur. All attendees of an allowed haj are pre-registered via biometric (retinal, fingerprint and DNA) information to detect any subsequent terrorist involvement. Subversive activity results in punative action against the individual and all family members as well. Even a single terrorist act shuts down that year's haj.
Somehow, the West must reach out and touch a major portion of Islam's one billion Muslims. Few levers exist with which apply substantial pressure to such a vast population. Due to Islam's decentralized nature (no Vatican or Pope), there is no central authority (beyond al-Hazar University), which any coercive force can be directed against. This leaves few options. One central theme to the lives of every Muslim on earth, is the haj and the primal role of Mecca and Medina in that obligatory pilgrimage. We must use to our advantage the vital place these shrines hold in Islamic theology.
Each year a percentage of this world’s Muslims visit the shrines. If that fraction of Islam’s population sees their once-in-a-lifetime opportunity slip away due to terrorist atrocities, perhaps then they will take action. At the very worst, the hostage shrines would provide the most massive stretch of jihadi flypaper this planet has ever seen. The lure of liberating the shrines from infidel hands would draw them like moths to a very fatal flame. Just a thought.

Islam is basically just a strategy of military conquest with a religious facade wrapped around it.
Islam’s biggest problems are the internet and modern armour and tactics. The internet reveals there demographic conquest to all, and modern armour and tactics put them in the ground wherever they mass troops.
This leaves them with exploding followers and mass suicide frontal assaults like the ones the Taliban attempted in Afghanistan last year. Both of those tactics are as likely to win wars as operation Rolling Thunder.
All we need is the time to boot out our current governments and adopt ones that follow the doctrines of common sense.
Personally I wish they would keep trying to blow us up at home, it speeds up the process. But I will have to rely on idiots like clever Trevor Brookes and Abu Qatada to keep getting the point across for now.

The Shiites have their sites in Iraq and Iran.
What about Jerusalem? If we lay siege to Mecca and Medina will Israel be able (or allowed) to control the Temple Mount and maintain the safety of its citizens? Do we hold the Al Aqsa Mosque hostage to the good behavior of Muslims? Will Israel be allowed to level the mosque in retaliation for any terrorist attacks?
The similarity between the Jews of Israel and the Blacks of Darfur is that the Arabs are tyring to wipe them out. The Jews of Israel realized this in 1948 and held their ground and then some. They have had to fight for the land, just as Moses said that they would.
Now the Arabs are coming after the Blacks in Darfur. Their aim! To eventually drive the Black people out of Africa and replace them with Arabs. Those locations may well need to be considered if the Shiites get too frisky. The neutralization of Iran should make this unnecessary, but the option of containing or obliterating Q'om or other Shia holy sites should not be taken off of the table.

This is a far more complex issue, if only due to the high concentration of pluralistic shrines in the area (e.g., the Temple Mount, the Church of the Nativity and the Dome of the Rock). We do have the technology and expertise to totally dismantle the Dome of the Rock, stone by stone, and package it for safe keeping as insurance against attacks, should both Mecca and Medina succumb to unavoidable reprisals for terrorist atrocities.
The single fact that some sort of "hole card" will be needed to discourage any Islamic recourse against Western holy sites like Notre Dame, makes such a prophylactic measure worthy of consideration.
