172 jihadists planning attack on oil fields arrested in Saudi Arabia

"172 Militants Planning Attack on Oil Fields Arrested in Saudi Arabia," from Fox News (thanks to Infidel Pride):

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — Saudi police arrested 172 Islamic militants who were on the verge of carrying out a series of terror attacks on oil facilities, military zones and public figures, the Interior Ministry said Friday. A spokesman said all that remained in the plot "was to set the zero hour."
An Interior ministry statement said police seized weapons and more than 20 million riyals ($5.33 million) in cash, from seven armed cells.
"Some had been training on the use of weapons, and some were sent to other countries to study aviation in preparation to use them to carry out terrorist operations inside the kingdom," the statement said.
U.S. officials characterized the plot as "extremely serious" and said a connection to senior Al Qaeda leadership — Usama bin Laden or Ayman Al-Zawahiri — had not been ruled out.
The officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, noted that the plot was very similar to Sept. 11, by having militants train as pilots to use planes in the attacks and hitting several targets simultaneously.
"They had reached an advance stage of readiness and what remained only was to set the zero hour for their attacks," Interior Ministry spokesman Brig. Mansour al-Turki told the Associated Press in a phone call. "They had the personnel, the money, the arms. Almost all the elements for terror attacks were complete."
Al-Turki told the privately owned Al-Arabiya TV channel that the militants included non-Saudis.
The militants also planned to storm Saudi prisons to free the inmates, the statement said.
"Certainly anytime the Saudis or anyone else takes action against those involed in terrorism it's a good thing. It's something that makes the world safer and makes America safer," Tom Casey, a State Department spokesman, said in Washington.
The Saudi statement said some of the military targets were outside the kingdom. Al-Turki said the arrests occurred "at various and successive times" but did not elaborate.
The Saudi state TV channel Al-Ekhbariah broadcast footage of large weapons cache discovered buried in the desert. The arms included bricks of plastic explosives, ammunition cartridges, handguns and rifles wrapped in plastic sheeting.
The ministry referred to the militants only as a "deviant group" — the Saudi term for Islamic terrorist.
Al-Ekhbariah showed investigators breaking tiled floors with hammers to uncover pipes that contained weapons. In one scene, an official upends a plastic pipe and bullets and little packets of plastic explosives spill out.
The channel also showed investigators digging up plastic sacks in the desert.
Bin Laden has called for attacks on the kingdom's oil facilities as a means of crippling both the kingdom's economy and the hurting the West, which he accuses of paying too little for Arab oil.

Imagine some point in the future where technology and foreign policy meet in such a way that the foreign oilfields are no longer an issue. Getting there sooner rather than later will only help national security, as well as the economy, and yet in the absence of an immediate crisis, the political will to make that happen evaporates like... well, pick your volatile petrochemical.

5.33 million? But I thought they were poor?

Imagine some point in the future where technology and foreign policy meet such that the Saudi oilfields are no longer an issue. Getting there sooner rather than later will only help national security, as well as the economy, and yet in the absence of an immediate crisis, the political will to make that happen evaporates like... well, pick your volatile petrochemical.

Absolutely true. And we should be much farther ahead of this curve than we currently are. We for sure have seen this coming. But all our pols are being blinded or bought off by the oil lobby, from the good ole boys here in the USA to the royal Saudi's. And still Bush is just tossing a little token money at trying to develope alternatives to OIL. That, and his insane immigration policy, Lame Cherry, is how he has lost most of his support base, not his Iraq war.

I would be willing to drive only 50 miles an hour if electric cars were available to get us off of oil.

Save the oil for aviation or military needs.

It can be done.

I think this will prove to be a performance staged by the al-saud to impress their useful idiots in Washington. Bravo! Is it too early for the Tony nominations?

Where I am, the cheapest gas is currently $2.39 @ Costco, so it's back to the expensive fuel.

I mentioned this in the Somali thread, but looks like there are some pilot versions of solar powered cars that are out there. Don't mean to go off-topic, but for those who're interested, check this out

http://www.extremesolarpower.com/

and then click on the article way down about

Flying Dutchmen Win Aussie Solar Car Race

Note the date on which this happened - September 2005. I'd be intrigued to find out where the technology stands now. Cant wait for the day I can buy a Saturn Outlook or a Subaru Tribecca that's completely solar powered, so that I don't need to feel guilty about funding terrorism every time I fill up the car.

Isn't it just AMAZING how well the Saudi's can round up terrorists when it comes to protecting themselves and their OWN OIL???

Now, does anyone on this board actually believe that these buttwipes would have given us a heads up if this was going to happen in Iraq?

Doubt it.

Crude Oil Surges After Saudi Arabia Announce Foiled Terror Plot

Maybe they just wanted to make more money????

Ah Marisol respectfully, President Bush and the Republicans tried to drill for oil in Alaska, Florida, the Carolinas and the Gulf, but were told no by Democrats whose intent is in controlling Americans via gas prices for their banking cartel masters.

The political will was there, but the American majority did nothing to help the Republicans pass what needed to be done.
President Bush then passed through the bio fuels funding which are going to drive up food prices. (Mexicans were rioting over this 4 months ago in corn prices.)

There is never going to be a meeting of the minds on this as Democrats and their world order operatives use Middle East oil as a tool to control populations and to fleece the public of money in a shearing operation. Oil is only important as a tool of control and harvest of money.

Having read of the great detractors of the Saudi's , this is proof that they are in fact doing a whole lot more than what people are blaming them for. Prince al Turki is one of the greatest friends America has ever had in the Middle East or the world. The Saudi's are the reason oil has not risen to 100 dollars a barrel.

The problem in this story is not as stated the oil. The problem is al Qaeda which is a proxy of Russia and China have failed at a plan to destroy the Saudi fields. (The destroying of the Saudi fields would mean no oil for the west except out of Russia in their oil blackmail.)
This failure will mean that a nuclear option which will be blamed on Iran or a "rogue Muslim" will be used to shut down the Saudi fields.

ALL OF THIS now should start to dawn on the people complaining about Iraq, stating falsely that Iraq could not form a government and be a democracy of rule and causing America to withdraw from Iraq JUST HOW VITAL IRAQ IS in 3 areas.

1. Iraq oil can cut the price of oil and thereby break the terrorists, Russians and banking cartel of their war on America.

2. Iraq oil is a hedge against any attack on the Saudi fields which means gas in American cars.

3. Iraq oil means a sovereign America.

The oil is in America, the Gulf, Mexico and the Atlantic just waiting there. The oil though is not drilled for or brought out of capped wells (There are many capped wells in the plains region.) for the expressed purpose this is nothing about government getting together in a meeting of the minds nor some advanced technlogy is going to save the day. (GM 10 years ago was marketing a Chevy Lumina which slipped out of Detroit in field tests whose 6 cylinder engine was getting 50 mpg. I know this for a fact as my brother had one and others did to, but others were getting just the 30 mpg rating.)
The technology is there, but Democrats only collect taxes on each gallon sold to buy power and the banking cartels only collect and control on the highest prices, so the net result is oil is not the issue unless someone is going to starting pumping it as the renewable earth produced resource it is and not the propaganda of fossil fuels.

Methane ice is another earth produced fuel which America has an ocean full of, but this is about ridding the world of the middle class as they are a threat to the elite for control.
Americans though in the majority want to be controlled just like the socialist ilk of Europe like governments taxing money and letting workers slave for benefits.
President Bush tried to stop this. The Saudi's tried to stop this, but the majority abandoned Iraq and the policy in place.

The meeting of the technology, oil and policy was in place.....and Americans including people here dumped the policy.

"Imagine some point in the future where technology and foreign policy meet such that the Saudi oilfields are no longer an issue. Getting there sooner rather than later will only help national security, as well as the economy, and yet in the absence of an immediate crisis, the political will to make that happen evaporates like... well, pick your volatile petrochemical."

I'm looking forward to that day. But we should also take some personal responsibility ourselves, and not wait for technology or fickle politicians to lead us to a brave new world. There are many common sense things that can be done on an individual basis to reduce petroleum consumption, without any technology advances. For example, buy a more fuel efficient car. You don't even have to buy a new Prius, although they are nice. Old diesel VW's get 40-50MPG, and small Honda's from the 80's and 90's also do very well. Stay away from SUVs. How often in your daily driving do you REALLY NEED 4wd, seating for 8, and 400hp? Purchase a vehicle based on what you will be using it for 90% of the time. Check your tires regularly to make sure they are properly inflated. Try to stay under 65 mph as much as possible. It makes a big difference. Also, accelerate and brake slowly. Use public transportation, walk, or bicycle whenever possible. And maybe most importantly, live close to where you work! I would even propose a ...GASP.. increase in the gas tax, the proceeds of which should be earmarked for improving public transportation, and research into alternative fuels and propulsion systems.

Many people associate conservation with sacrifices in lifestyle. Making 'sacrifices' that result in lower petroleum usage, some of which are detailed above, will result in your increased safety, an increase in disposable income, more free time, and better health. Oh yeah, and a lot less money going to Ahmadinijad, Hugo Chavez, and Saudi jihad funders. Not really much of a sacrifice if you ask me.

With a large number of terrorists like this caught at one time, what a message it would send if they were all simultaneously executed with a week or so. Their simultaneous deaths were what they were all planning anyway. Would that not send a message that might strike fear into the hearts of their fellow travelers? I'm sorry for not sounding very Christian, but the fact is being moderate in response to violent attacks doesn't seem to be working.

Sounds good but it will take a non career politian with no ties to oil in the big house to make that happen fast, i don't see anyone running who matches that description . Think zzzzz

Sounds like the old; "See, al Qaeda targets us as well. It's all about terrorists, not Islam."

Knowing that any news coming out of Saudi Arabia is suspect at best, and especially the officials who "spoke on the condition of anonymity," and the reality that "Interior Ministry spokesman Brig. Mansour al-Turki told the Associated Press in a phone call.", I have my doubts about the validity of the threat, as reported from al Saud.

Lame Cherry

You noticed only the word 'foreign' in foreign oilfields, and ignored the word 'oilfields'. But even if the US were to get all its oil from Infidel sources, or home grown, as long as petroleum remains the world's primary transportation fuel, the Saudis and others will continue to have customers. The argument about getting alternative energy sources, from a non-environmental standpoint, is about drying up the entire customer base of the ummah. You think that bereft of oil, Iran can survive on rugs and pistachio nuts? That Saudi Arabia can survive on the sale of Qurans? That Iraq can survive on.... what exactly? What will Libya, Bahrein, Qatar, Emirates have once oil no longer is a necessary fuel? Also, these countries don't even build their own cars, so it's not like if one day, we started driving solar powered cars, the Arabs could build their own gasoline powered cars. That's how big a class of losers they are - they can't even build the one thing they'd need if they lose all their customers. They don't even refine their own oil.

I agree that Environmentalists are a problem - they not only oppose drilling, they oppose nuclear power, coal power and everything else one can think of - including wind power (birds will fly into the windmills) and hydro power (the fishes will drown). But that doesn't mean that the long term solution is oil.

Oil is an Islamic fuel - it fuels Islam. Never forget that!

I listened to Rush Limbaugh for a few minutes this afternoon. I will repeat some of his questions which he hopes that the mainstream media will be frantically and loudly asking of the Saudis....after all, what's good for Gitmo is good for Riyadh....1) Do the accused have lawyers yet? 2) Do they all have brand new Korans? 3) Do they have new prayer rugs and arrows pointing to Mecca? 4) When will representatives from Amnesty International be visiting them? 5) How many calories will they be served each day? I hope these questions can all be answered..before the accused get a super-speedy trial, Muslim style, and are off to the chopping block.

President Bush tried to stop this. The Saudi's tried to stop this, but the majority abandoned Iraq and the policy in place.

The meeting of the technology, oil and policy was in place.....and Americans including people here dumped the policy.

LC.. I've read quite a few of your posts. Have you considered contributing at Rense.com?

maryrose

They won't have lawyers or Amnesty International, since when in the fiqhs do Muslims have lawyers? But the other items you mention - Qurans, prayer rugs facing Mecca, and halal food - not only will they get them but also, their prayers will be strictly enforced, just as they are on all Muslims who live in KSA.

But they are likely to be beheaded. Of course, that will happen in the name of being anti-Islamic, even though you can't get more fanatical than them.

Theres an old saying that comes to mind, " If you can't dazzle them with brilliance , baffle them with bulls--t. Seems to fit that scenerio!!!!

LC also wrote this:

"Having read of the great detractors of the Saudi's , this is proof that they are in fact doing a whole lot more than what people are blaming them for."

They are indeed doing a whole lot more. Financing madrazas and mosks all over Europe, American, Canada and Australia. They also fund Middle East Studies all over our Ivy League. They have james Bakkker III's Law firm on retainer and you can guess that's not chump change.

Come to think of it, Cherry.. if the SOWdis are such good friends - how do you rate Israel as a friend?

Inquiring minds...

"Prince al Turki is one of the greatest friends America has ever had in the Middle East or the world. The Saudi's are the reason oil has not risen to 100 dollars a barrel."

They know damn well that if the price goes too high production in other sources becomes increasingly affordable and thus feasible.

They need the oil money for themselves so they can complete their world-wide islamization project before their income wanes.

To this aim they will team up with anyone - even dumbya.. all they have to do is pay him and hisw cohorts off and - BINGO!

No drilling or exploration at home comes from the dhimmicrats - who are paid by the SOWdis for their stance.

They are paying - and playing - both ends against the middle.

But they are likely to be beheaded. Of course, that will happen in the name of being anti-Islamic, even though you can't get more fanatical than them.

Your post has given me great concern. we must lobby for the Red Cross and Amnesty and Human Rights Watch to have access to these political prisoners immediately.

Second, call your Congressperson to demand we organize a rescue mission immediately to free these innocent religous freedom fighters.

/sarc off

PS. At yesterday's dhimmicrat discussion Obama said he wouldn't retaliate if we were attacked with nukes. Only later did he try to "adjust" his original statement.

Hitlery said she'd retaliate - but wasn't asked HOW.

Having to listen to her rant and screech could be considered retaliation already. Worse than Rosie the taliban-grokker's lunatic ravings or Howie the Deanie Weenie's scream.

The only good that may come from this, is that if Saudi Arabia wants Ben Laden dead, he will be dead. Saudis can get to him, if Saudis want to. Perhaps this purge is a pretext for what is coming next!

Disgust of Islam is growing worldwide exponentially. The Saudis may feel that Saudi islam is getting such a bad rap worldwide that Ben Laden is a liability. (sort of like che and casto!) Saudis may have more than one reason to liquidate comrade Ben Laden. Perhaps the arrests of the usual suspects is just a prelude to royals cleaning of their Harems that the Saudis intend next.

bin laden may be the golden boy to the sauds, but he isn't the gold!!!!

Not quite David:

But you have the right idea in mind...they've been bragging about their impending attacks slated for this summer, like criminal minds always do (it's an ego thing)...and this planned attack was only an asymmetric prelude for things even bigger to come.

Lame Cherry...not all conspirasy theories are theories, some of them are actualities...

The Saudi's are protecting their own interests.

If any of them are really friends with the US, they are apostates, cause Allah said not to do that. They can however 'pretend' to be our friends, while viewing America as a usefull idiot and slave. 'America is my favorite slave', said dead king Faud.
He could not have made it clearer than that.

Allahfanculo

You may be sarcastic, but I'm looking at it another way. If they are so busy targeting their rulers, it's in some ways a shame that the plot didn't materialize. Such an event would have rocked the Saudis, and forced them to examine the co-relationship between Islam and Jihad, and the role of the Wahabi influence on Islam in the country.

Here is SaudiArabia at its best, a professor talking about Neil Armstrong, zero magnetic field etc. Watch the video and be amazed how well informed the Saudies are ;)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ixfk4LsKWnw

"Some had been training on the use of weapons, and some were sent to other countries to study aviation in preparation to use them to carry out terrorist operations inside the kingdom"

So. Do the Saudis realize what this says? They were allowing people to take weapons training within the kingdom of peace. They knew what was happening and only took action because the terror operations were to take place INSIDE the kingdom.

Makes me wonder if they had the resources to learn what was going on pre 9/11 and kept their mouths shut about it because it was no skin off their noses if someone else got hit.

They run what is essentially a police state. They know full well which of the princes are supporting terrorist groups and dear Prince TURKEY (or whoever) does nothing about it. They know full well what is being planned around the world and they DO NOTHING.

If you want un-Christian Pastor Jr., I might not have minded if that plot had succeeded. It would have served them right. The extremism they have been exporting for decades would have finally made its way home to a most deserving group of people. Their economy would have been destroyed and they would have deserved it. The price of oil might have skyrocketed afterwards, but the Saudis wouldn't have been able to reap any of the rewards. Poor guys (in more ways than one).

Oh the love of muslims, one for another!

With no infidels around it's Muslim against Muslim, Muslims against Muslim nations.

We are not so alone.

Borg,

Thanks for being willing to slow down. Where's the electricity to charge said electric car going to come from?

Saudi Arabia has 262 Billion barrels of proven oil reserves. Canada has 330 Billion barrels in its oil sands alone and the resource is coming online. They make money at $18-$23 per barrel.

http://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/energy/2004-09-07-oil-sands_x.htm

Create the electricity with Uranium from Wyoming, there’s lots of it out there. This won’t be feasible under our current form of government, but when things fall apart, expect to see blanket permitting for nuclear power plants. Things will fall apart politically long before we run out of oil.

While we’re waiting for the nuke plants to come on line, seize Iran's islands in the Persian Gulf, not as liberators but as conquerors. They will give us a good excuse soon.

Maryrose; Rush said something much more important today. He said 'if you believe this'.
Second point; these arrests were carried out over the last six months.
I heard this on Fox News. To me this seems to be a big deal, no one else? Why are we hearing this today? Could it have anything to do with the Democrat News Conference last night?
Keep your eyes open people, things are going to be moving so fast you will not be able to keep up.
Soon I will be disappearing from here because of some changes in my life.
Keep in mind that Obama's response to the question about two American cities being obliterated was to talk to the rest of the world to see if we would offend them. I couldn't believe that Rush Limbaugh was actually praising H. Clinton cause the first words out of her mouth were retaliate. In fact as much as I dislike her I was shocked at my own feelings that we desperately need a President that would kick some serious a** if it became necessary.

Thanks for being willing to slow down. Where's the electricity to charge said electric car going to come from?

Posted by: turn at April 27, 2007 06:27 PM

AND, battery technology is going to have to advance greatly before the electric car is a viable solution. It is estimated that the batteries in these cars will have to be replaced every five to six years, costing thousands of dollars? Not that I'm against pursuing this technology. The electric grid must also be driven by alternative, renewable sources, or nuclear. Yes, Infidel Pride, the enviromentalists will have some kind of problem with ANY kind of energy. If we all went back to horses, they would complain about the gas. There are so many things that all our jizya money could be going for, for US, in the USA. AND if we develope it, you can bet the world will follow. Everyone is getting tired of being held over the barrel of the oil cartel.

"...so the net result is oil is not the issue unless someone is going to starting pumping it as the renewable earth produced resource it is and not the propaganda of fossil fuels."

Posted by: Lame Cherry at April 27, 2007 04:09 PM

And regardless of what Lame Cherry has said, oil Is NOT renewable, and many experts believe we are on the downhill side of the oil era. It's only a matter of time. The USA needs to be the leaders in the nest era, not followers or hanger-on-ers. As Marisol says, our national security, our economy, and our lives are based on this issue. Why can't Bush and the rest of our useless elected politicians realize this, and ACT?

I believe the source for that may have come from the book:
Black Gold Stranglehold.

That is, however, another forum entirely, and outside the scope of this thread.

al-Turki is wierd. I have heard him on multiple occasions. When he speaks to al-Arabiya he says something completely different than when he goes on later to al-Jazeera or another, non-Saudi linked station. (Al-Arabiya is not entirely privately owned, if you count Saudi princes "privately owning" something, but Fox is just covering its own rear, because the Saudi royal family has extremely heavy investments in Fox News). Actually, there is no evidence that they were in the "zero-hour" at all, or whether these weapons meant anything. The most recent reports state that the weapons were very old and had been buried for some time and most of them arguably wouldn't work. (although this all as well might not be entirely true). As to the statement that some of them were non-Saudis, this is a very common Saudi government tactic, don't blame Saudis (like this site's policy of NEVER blame non-Muslims, especially when they do something wrong, defend it by calling any opposition Muslim and hope that makes them be quiet). All of you are so ready to get off of oil but don't realize that solar cars aren't the only thing that runs on oil, nor the majority thing. The argument of the old "Midland meeting" that we are just going to keep our oil fields capped until we suck the Middle East dry is odd--most of the Middle East countries have enough oil reserves to remain at capacity for an average of 75+ years, not to mention the diversification moves in progress that are rapidly changing the faces of these countries, further extending oil reserves and removing these countries' dependence on oil reserves as the only source of income.

Just doing some thinking...
(I noticed, that in the same day I have been called D'Souza and a Muslim (again)...I must have hit a nerve somewhere...probably where I suggested that not all Muslims are violent killers...)

PS. What's this??? Up in the sky??? It's a bird...a plane...youths...Muslims...no! Europeans! Run for your lives!!! I'm going to write a book about how Estonians have it in their DNA to destroy all Russians!!! (just joking, although it might sell well in Russia)

Okay, "An American," try this: Scroll up to the website banner. Read it. Move your lips if you have to, and take your time.

Re: 172 jihadists planning attack on oil fields arrested in Saudi Arabia

It could be Shia. In any case, it is important to know exactly who planned this. However, in the long term it is vital to not need the oil and not to even care who did this now or in the future.

maybe the saudis need a good kick in the balls.

if they bring down the saudi regime i'd be happy. then at least the entire middle east will free fall into anarchy and internal civil war. this will spread to north africa and will consume the islamic world for decades of wars.

this would be a great time to depart, deport and sit back and defend our borders ( and protect our israeli friends) 'til the firestorm is over.

There's An American again.

"Just doing some thinking..."

Because naturally, the others commenting here are never using our higher reasoning powers. Please continue to enlighten us with your superior intellect and lofty views.

Your arguments are beyond specious--they border on the childish. No one here claims that all muslims are murderous nor that all non-muslims are blameless of any wrongdoing. But your lame attempts to equivocate are simply sieves when it comes to holding water.

So we know where you like to post your impotent little barbs. How about providing us some links of where you go to reinforce your preconceived notions?

Just curious...

No you know what? You're sounding VERY Christian in a very very good way!

No more laying down like dogs!

Let's RISE and DEFEND!

Forget all the turn the other cheek stuff.

I prefer an eye for an eye!

And since we [the West] have the means I say many heads for even ONE of our eyes!

I saw Youtube video on what they do to Churches in Bosnia!!! They burn them and they break off the Crucifixes off the steeples.

I want islam OUT of Europe and America!

My dear Pastor. if you can get some of your colleagues to get a BIT MORE MILITANT I guarantee you that you will see an amazing amount of young people FLOCKING to your churches again!

All this peacenik lameass loser-posing is npt very attractive to the young.

You're on the right track, Pastor!!

Now give a ROUSING speech this Sunday!! Don't mince words and TELL it LIKE IT IS!!!

I do agree with you that it is a shame they blew it, but I don't think that had they been successful in their endeavour, it would have "rocked the saudis and forced them to examine the co-relationship between islam and jihad". They already know that islam = jihad. For us, The Infidels, the equation is jihad = terrorism. Look at the multiple cesspools of islam that have no crude. Places like afghanistan, sudan, somalia. All these places are the way they are due to islam. The afghans have been butchering each other for centuries after they had finished the Infidel culture there, and they were still at it when we went in there and, for some reason incomprehensible to me, but no doubt within the intellectual reach of some U.S. policy maker, are actually trying to bring democracy to these savages who have absolutely no desire to live under any system other than islam. They just want to imitate uswa hasana, and emulate him in all respects and deeds. No Infidel Pride, the saudis would not have been shocked had these 172 did their jihad, though the success of the enterprise upon which these particular jihadis had embarked would have brought immense satisfaction to Yours Truly.

Good to be back.

I am no fan of Rush the Bush-bot but to his credit he also said that they failed to ask Hitlery HOW she would retaliate, which was my first thought when I heard the clip.

Hitlery knows how to kick Bill's ass and that's about it.

Hitlery is NO Maggie T.

Good to be back.

I had the same thoughts when I heard it on the news. It sounded kind of silly. I think it is a fabrication in order to keep the USA believing that the Saudis are our friends.

Besides reports like this one, what other evidence do we have that the Saudis are our friends in the war on terrorism?

Based on what gets thrown around as headlines, I almost expected that to say, "172 al-Quada Number Twos Captured."

GO FIGURE......the Saudis arrest 72 Jihadis...
and Georgia Tech etc won't run an ad warning of the dangers of Jihad....doesn't that make a lot of sense???

Arjun

Welcome back

Of course the Saudis know the relationship between Islam and Jihad. That said, despite all the bravado in the Quran and Hadiths, nothing shatters them like a threat to their regime. When Iraq overran Kuwait, they were a nervous wreck, and had this attack succeeded, they would have been forced to choose between picking either the al Qaeda side or the anti-Jihadi side. They know what they have been teaching: no way could they have continued in that vein given that those very teachings serve to undermine the Saudi regime.

Sure, they could have taught that hatred of Infidels is okay, and that of other Mohammedans isn't (like they do now), but there is no way it would have flown with al Qaeda. Given that, had they been shaken, they would have lost some of their value to the West, and at the same time, the momentum would have been there to overthrow their regime.

Good news, Saudi government should be held responsible for this because they created all these terrorists and they provided funds to all terrorists. This is the consequence of building mosques and madras to poison the minds of Muslims living in different parts of the World. But the Saudi will not call these people terrorists, instead they will call them something else.

Next friday we will be able to hear the story in details during the Friday prayer. The imam will put blame on U.S.A or Isreal. He may say that this is the result of not killing all jews and christians in the World or this is the result of technology and democracy. So we should destroy all technologies and stay in a cave where Bin Laden is now living.

Infidel Pride,
Thanks. I think I understand now what you were saying. I also think that it would be a blessing in disguise if the crude supply is disrupted just for a short period, say one or two months. We are burning the candle at both ends by being on crude. A. We are providing the muslims with more money with which to wage jihad upon us, and B. We are destroying our ecology by burning this crude thing that is slowly but surely causing the Global Warming. I am not afraid for the planet. I am not afraid for Mother Earth. We the humans might think ourselves as very mighty, but we are not mighty enough to destroy The Earth. We can only destroy the forests, we can make entire species disappear, we can convert our rivers into sludge, we can poison our oceans, and we do have the power to make this planet inhospitable for ourselves, we can actually make ourselves extinct. But we cannot destroy Mother Earth. These jihadis do not know how big a favor they will be doing to us Infidels by somehow disrupting the supply of crude. Necessity is the mother of invention Infidel Pride, and once the supply is broken, we will suddenly see alternative technologies blossoming throughout the planet. It happened during the Second World War in Europe, when several parts of Scandinavia had wood-gasifier driven vehicles. That technology (wood gasification) is 60 years old but even that is better that burning crude and its derivatives. Once the supply is broken, individuals who could not do without their SUVs will suddenly find that they can do without them, or else they will start producing bio-diesel at their homes using waste vegetable oil, maybe some shall start using ethanol for fuel. Each of these alternatives is much, much better than the crude basket. Only 10 years to go before Global Warming really hits us, and every year is going to be warmer than the previous one, every year the ice caps will melt faster and faster. The ice caps are already warming at twice the rate of the rest of the globe, and the process is acclerating. I used to say that Civilization faces only two threats, the jihad and Chicom. Now I think that we are threatened by the jihad and Global Warming.

Hope we make it.

Use less oil: Buy a sailboat instead of a powerboat.

172 Militants captured in Saudi Arabia. Bet they are being most horribly tortured at this moment-real thing with lots of screaming-not just being denied halal food & Korans.
How come none of the Lefties at Guardian & BBC ARE PROTESTING TO SAUDI ARABIA?? Where is all the demands for lawyers,U.N visits and articles
about 'their Human Rights'...
Lucky old Totalitarian Saudi Arabia that can torture with impunity & having extracted every ounce of useful info can dispose of their Terrorists in Chop Chop Square[very cheaply] whilst providing entertainment for the masses.
Even the Romans couldn't have managed this better.

Iraq oil means a sovereign America. AMEN to that one! my God people do not realize that oil runs our democracies, and the market forces will givne a chance ues our technolgies to bring new sources of oil. even if we save now, what we dont use, India and hungrier China will take.
The saud's are getting payback for sending out their cult, yes payback's a bitch.

Militant muslim comrades being tortured. The pigs begin to devour themselves.

Please affirm that your previous comment was tongue-in-cheek.

Global warming or rather ocean warming is real.
the concept that we puny humans caused it is nonsense.
It's as we used to say in the 70's a guilt trip.

Aunt Bea picks up phone "Hello travel agency, I'd like to book a heavy guilt trip."

Scientists get huge grants to study the effect that we puny humans have on the planet. Scientist gets new car, new house.
Even the government is not dumb enough to give out a grant to a scientist to find a way to stop volcanic activity. Not going to happen.

Check out the parts of this website that are dated 2006. Did you hear any of this in the MSM?

Borg
What are you going to do with the millions of very large and grossly polluting electric car batteries discarded regularly? They don't last indefinitely and neither does your car's starting battery.

Kool-Aid Alert!

The film above is actually one of the most important pieces on climate change ever made and everyone should watch it.
One very important point raised was by Patrick Moore co-founder of greenpeace who became disillusioned by it's outlook and infiltration by the anti-globalisation marxist groups.

It's not a leftist vehicle by any means if that's what jcom972 meant...(apologies if not)
quite the opposite in fact. It's pro-globablisation and debunks many myths and fables, primarily the CO2 issue.
The earth is warming but not as a consequence of human activity.

Again I urge everyone here to watch "The Great Global Warming Swindle"
It is a great piece of work and pertinent to the Oil debate.

David England says:

"Disgust of Islam is growing worldwide exponentially."

Would you please expound by giving some examples?
Growing relative to what?

Disgust may be "growing", but it is not growing as fast as fear and appeasement ( see this weeks JW articles on pigs in the Dutch classrooms verboten, UK savings bonds for Muslims, et al).

See recent pew global survey of how westerners and moslems view eachother.

It clearly indicates that Islam has a public relations problem globally.

Agreed, thanks (someone IS on the ball here... ^5s).
It's just more snake oil that is irrelevant to this forum, and is another absurd diversion from the main topics of this site.
Thank You for your welcome addition to my post.

it is not often you see dogs shitting on there own doorstep

true...that's why we laugh at them, but dogs have more sense than they do.

;-)

Based on their history and current actions I'd say Al-Qaida and the Saudi rulers have the same game plan, only the means and timetable are a little different.

Both are twin baldes on the same bloody knife.

True lycaste...but the saudi royal family has a lot more to lose, so they pay their periodic extortion so their counterpet will attack other interests first...but that appears to be wearing thin.

Let it play out...and hold & maintain that thought-
it will come in handy when the big show starts.

"In order to win the big prize, sometimes you have to play the game (that you may not like)."
