Anti-Semitic attacks up sharply worldwide

"The report said the attackers primarily were Muslim immigrants and extreme right-wing youths." But Great Britain, France and Canada have been home to "right-wing youths" for quite some time. It is the Muslim immigrant population that is relatively new.

From UPI, with thanks to David:

TEL AVIV, Israel, April 15, 2007 (UPI) -- Great Britain, France and Canada saw a sharp rise in anti-Semitic attacks and vandalism last year, a World Holocaust Day report revealed Sunday.

Reported incidents of anti-Semitism rose worldwide -- the highest total number since 2000, said a study by the Stephen Roth Institute for the Study of Anti-Semitism and Racism at Israel's Tel Aviv University.

The report, written with the World Jewish Congress, was released on Sunday to correspond with Holocaust Memorial Day, Haaretz reported.

In all, 590 incidents of violence or vandalism were reported in 2006 against Jews, Jewish property and Jewish institutions, the study said.

In Great Britain, more than 100 Jews were attacked -- the highest number in the 20 years -- while the number of violent incidents in France rose by 45 percent and doubled in Canada.

The report said the attackers primarily were Muslim immigrants and extreme right-wing youths. Anti-Semitic influences in 20006 included Israel's attack on Lebanon and statements by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to deny the Holocaust, said Dina Porat, head of the Roth Institute.

I consider that a personal insult. I was once a "right wing youth," and I have never attacked any one. I do not know who is worse, the criminals or their apologist helpers.

I have been around Jews, Christians, Protestants, Methodists, Seventh Day Adventists(Jevahovahs Witnesses), Hindus, Sikhs, Buddists, even West Virginia snake worshippers, and not one violent attack have I seen from these people...The violent attacks began only when the Muslims appeared....

...let's 1 + 1====........

exsgbrown,

Add to your list Mormons, Wiccans, Charismatics, and atheists.

I wonder what facts that author of the aritcle used to say "right wing youth." What constitutes a "right wing youth?" Do they mean skinheads?

All the "right wing youth" I know could care less who's a Jew. They are all trying to get into some fancy college so they can make the big bucks...many of them are Jews themselves.

Are not the Arabs "Semites"?

So they are anti-themselves?

Wouldn't surprise me, what with the mental contortionism taught by Islam

Excuse me, Sgt. Brown, but they are snake handlers not worshippers.

Add to your list Zoroastrians, like the only Iranian that I ever knew and liked. The muslim Iranians I have known were arrogant and insulting, every one.

Now, now, let's not replace one sort of denial with another. There's a strain of anti-semitism in Extreme Right Wing ideology, as is well known. That has been known to lead to attacks on jews by white youths.
The Muslims can't be berated for supporting Hitler on the one hand, whilst denying that Right Wing Ideology:facism and hatred of jews, haven't got some connection.
Still that doesn't excuse the fact that Islam is a anti-semetic creed, which encourages Muslims to attack jews.

In my warped interpretation of Religious Text the Jews are Abel and the moslems are Cain.

South African Jewry rejects theory as ‘racist nonsense’

15 April 2007

South African Jews criticised Charles Murray’s theory of “Jewish genius” this week, with some describing it as dangerous.

Michael Bagraim, chairman of the South African Jewish Board of Deputies, said the claims of racial superiority were “absolute nonsense”.

“This is racism of the highest degree. It goes back to Nazi thought on social engineering,” he fumed.

“We’re not living in a world of race discrimination any more: we’ve seen what that leads to.

“People are people. Some inherit better genes than others, learn faster and are clever — their race is irrelevant.”

Bagraim said that while Murray picked out Jews and called them geniuses, “there were clever Catholics, clever Zulus ... We, like any other people, have our share of geniuses and criminals”.

A Cape Town comedian, Cokey Falkow, said that despite the “chutzpah” of Jewish folk he was reluctant to call them superior. “As a Jew I am loath to profess genetic superiority, since it seems to me one step away from eugenics theory,” he said.

Eugenics, a school of thought based on Charles Darwin’s natural selection, advocates the improvement of the human gene pool by intervention and has been used to justify gross discrimination against racial groups.

Falkow added: “However, we all know Jews are very funny — most of the top comedians and comic writers are Jewish, very creative, and leaders in their chosen fields. I guess it’s our chutzpah and underdog attitude.”

He said the success of some Jews could perhaps be traced to their mothers’ craving “nachas”.

“Nachas is a Yiddish word meaning to get great joy or satisfaction from your offspring’s success,” explained Falkow. “Especially if your friends’ offspring are less successful!”

Professor Milton Shain, director of the Kaplan Centre for Jewish Studies at the University of Cape Town, said the contributions of Jewish achievers such as Karl Marx, Sigmund Freud and Albert Einstein should be understood in a historical context.

He said: “I would stress the hugely complex process of Jewish emancipation from the late 18th century and the Jewish confrontation with modernity...

“That is to say Jewish intellectual activity related at a subtle level to the stresses and strains of being for the first time included in the wider society.”
