An update on this story. "Four UK men plead guilty on terror-related charge," from Reuters:
LONDON (Reuters) - Four British men pleaded guilty on Wednesday to charges of conspiring to cause explosions in a case linked to that of a Briton jailed last year for plotting to blow up the New York Stock Exchange.
The men -- Junade Feroze, 31, Mohammed Zia ul-Haq, 28, Abdul Aziz Jalil, 34, and Omar Abdul Rehman, 23 -- pleaded guilty to conspiring with Dhiren Barot between February 2001 and August 2004 to cause an explosion or explosions, the court said.
Barot, 34, was sentenced last year to 40 years in prison for the stock exchange plot and his plans for other attacks in Britain involving gas-filled limousines and a "dirty bomb".
Another suspect in the ongoing trial, Mohammed Naveed Bhatti, 27, pleaded guilty last week, while a sixth has pleaded not guilty. A seventh suspect has not yet been indicted.
Those who have pleaded guilty are due to be sentenced once the trail against the outstanding suspects is completed, an official from Britain's Crown Prosecution Service said.
Barot, a Muslim convert, was convicted of plotting to blow up the headquarters of New York Stock Exchange as well as Citigroup, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and Prudential in New York, Washington and Newark, New Jersey.
The judge who sentenced Barot said that, but for the September 11 attacks, he had little doubt that one or more of Barot's plans, presented to al Qaeda's leaders for approval, would have become a reality.

Let me be the first to predict that some idiot poster will claim that these defendants must have been tortured, as everyone knows that islam is a religion of peace.
Why plead guilty? They had more of a motive than just going to prison.
Perhaps they know they will soon be out of prison when the next wave hits.......as in British hostages kidnapped from the isle, smuggled out and a trade.

If you look at many of the cases when this stuff starts making a head way and people are looking at what this ROP is really about they plead guilty and what is it they say out of sight out of mind?

These young men had grievances and were obviously radicalised by the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq; they turned to violence because they were so disenchanted with British foreign policy and George Bush's aggressively imperialistic policy, etc etc.

Your analysis fails miserably in two areas.
First and foremost, unless the US is prepared to kill every male Islamist in the region, the ranks of the jihadists will be replenished. That being said, the "victory" in Iraq is completely nebulous, with no specific goal to achieve and no end in sight to the wasteful dispersion of US military and economic resources. Hugh has stated ad nauseum, and I for one completely agree with his assessment, that the historic rift that exists within the sects of the Religion of Peace will only intensify once the current administration drops its utopian, intangible desire to export western democracy.
Muslim on Muslim killing is the main source of casualties in Iraq currently, and I for one fully realize that we are in a war against Islam. Morals aside, for they have no place in war, the most efficient way of killing an enemy is the best course from a military standpoint, and in this case it is to let them kill each other without the obstacle our presence provides. Let Islam eat itself like a snake and there is less focus on the West due to their internal preoccupation.
Secondly, being a conservative at heart, I have no love for the likes of Harry Reid or his ilk. His proposition is correct from a military standpoint, even in light of the fact that he and they have no idea as to why they are right. semi-intelligent person would understand the dual value of simply stepping aside. Once the decision is made to leave, hopefully at the direction of the liberals before Bush vacates office, is like killing two birds with one stone. The ensuing secterian carnange in the region, which undoubtably will occur once we leave will be quite telling to the western world, while simultaneously portraying the liberals who pulled the trigger, in a very poor light.
I find it unfathomable at this point, with the information provided about Islam on this site, that anyone can still support the ground occupation in Iraq. I challenge you to present a plausible argument as to why we should stay, and define a specific goal to achieve, for all military operations should have a sound objective that can be accomplished oh, sometime before eternity.
Your passion is noted, but passion, like morality, are not useful characteristics to have when waging a military campaign. So let's have it then. I am listening.

If the BNP were so anti-semitic could you explain to me why the BNP have a Jewish councilor on Epping council. If you look on their site you will find video interviews with Sikh leaders. They basically want to put the pride back into the British. Nick Griffen has had to go through a politically motivated trial not once but twice when the Government didn't get the verdict it wanted. They took him to court because he called Islam a “WICKED, VICIOUS FAITH" rather mild wouldn't you say, compared to what I have read from some of the posters on this Blogg. One of their workers is now languishing in prison. He was accused by a failed asylum seeker who is known to have lied on his application form for asylum, of attacking him. No medical evidence was given at his trial, for the simple reason there was “NONE”. The man has now lost his business. They wont even give him early release, they consider him too dangerous, yet three followers of the religion of peace got bail for holding down a 15 year old schoolboy in a school playground, and beating him over the head, in full view of the school with a hammer. The boy as far as I know is still in intensive care with serious brain damage. Do you wonder why more and more Brits are voting BNP whether it is fascist or not. To most Brits the BNP is seen as a beacon of sanity in this mad PC world, even more so if the proposal for new laws, to combat Racism and xenophobia proposed a few days ago by the E.U. ever get into the law books. I spend a couple of hours reading it carefully a couple of days ago and I can assure you it sent shivers down my spine. If I read it correctly it means that the DADDY E.U.
