This should be noted by both responsible leaders of Islamic governments, such as Indonesia, and also for jihadists of all color and hue. The United States' principles are universal, and in this instance, the United States stands foursquare for the creation of an overwhelmingly Muslim country in the very heart of Europe.
Why should jihadists note this? Because it will make them think that the U.S. is not an enemy of Muslims, presumably. But neither Lantos nor other American officials busy patting themselves on the back about this have given even a moment's consideration to the possibility that those same jihadists might take advantage of American goodwill in this to...wage jihad against the West.
Now why would they be so ungrateful? Because they are not fighting against us because we are bad guys. We could be the best of peoples, as Muslims are called in the Qur'an (3:110), and because we are not Muslim, many Muslims will believe that it remains their responsibility to fight against and subjugate us (cf. Qur'an 9:29), no matter how pliant and helpful we are to their cause.
Someone with patience, wisdom, and intellectual heft should contact Lantos, who (I think) is a good guy. This story -- how proud he is! -- is sad.
"The United States' principles are universal." Well, yes. But those principles are incompatible with the principles of sharia.

If I remember correctly, Tom Lantos is a Jewish survivor of the Holocaust.He also is fully aware of the continuing struggle for Israel to survive in a sea of hostile Muslim countries. So, why would he be happy to give the Muslims a country in the heart of Europe? Will the new rulers of Kosovo welcome any Jews who are looking for a fresh start, like the one that Mr. Lantos availed himself of in the USA so many years ago? I think not...Saudi money is already pouring into that land..No Jews allowed, churches and convents burned, Christians forced out, followed by jihadis who will use Kosovo for further invasions into western Europe. Note to Mr. Lantos: Don't give away someone else's land. You, above all people in Congress, should know just how that injustice feels.

In deep with deep-pocketed California contributors who are so busy making deals in the great business of American life (making money), these contributors are sufficiently assured that Lanton "must be a good guy" because his heart is in the right place on Israel. Never mind his heart -- what about his mind? These contributors do not take the time to study Islam themselves, or what those they support think about it. Like so many, they simply assume a man like Lantos, with his "heart in the right place" and his "pro-Israel" views (what in god's name does that epithet "pro-Israel" mean if someone cannot see what what Israel faces is a Lesser Jihad, prompted by Islam and not by any phony "nationalist" movement of so-called "Palestinians"?). Someone in the smart set of well-heeled Beverly Hills should take it upon himself, or herself, to start bombarding Lantos, grown lazy and complacent (or was he always? was it just not apparent because he was never put to the moral and intellectual test?), with the real stuff about Islam.
Perhaps you'd like to send him a peripatetic lecturer to deliver not a tongue-lashing, but a little lecture, or perhaps not such a little one.

If this was reversed and we were attempting to force a traditionally Muslim country to give it to Serbs there would be hell to pay. So far the Serbs and Russia are standing firm against this insanity. One small gleam of hope is use of force. If the Serbs invade Kosovo the US is too weak to stop them and we would never get the political willpower this close to an election anyway. After all the problems the EU has cost us part of me feels this would be a form of sweet revenge but it is not that simple. I’m afraid Kosovo is doomed and there is little we can do or will do to stop it.

Unfortunately, this is not at all true.
The US abandoned Christian East Timor to the depredations of Moslem Indonesia in the 1970s. Non-Moslems have suffered at the hands of Moslems in the southern Sudan and would have greatly benefitted from their own homeland. A similar story may be told of the Ibo in Nigeria. Where was the US in all of this? And what about today in Iraq, where non-Moslems are slaughtered with impunity by Moslem marauders? Wouldn't a Christian homeland in the middle of this troubled area make sense? A place to stem the tide. A place to reverse the flow? A place to show the Ummah everything that is possible when the disease of circular thinking and victimization is set aside?
The experiment in the Balkans showed one thing clearly: the Moslem does not repsect, perhaps doesn't even understand, the universal principles that the US espouses. That why a Western democracy, in which the will of the majority is tempered by the inalienable rights of the minority, will never be seen in a Moslem country.
Mr. Lantos has, deliberately or inadvertently, simply expressed his approval for the recolonization of the Balkans by the Ummah.
