Chutzpah Alert. "Iranian: U.K. can help mend relations," by Jill Lawless for Associated Press, with thanks to all who sent this in:
LONDON - Fifteen British sailors and marines freed from captivity in Tehran began two weeks' leave with their families Saturday, while Iran's ambassador to London urged Britain to help his nation mend relations with the international community.Ambassador Rasoul Movahedian told the Financial Times newspaper in an article published Saturday that Iran had "showed our goodwill" by freeing the Britons.
"Now it is up to the British government to proceed in a positive way," he was quoted as saying. "We will welcome in general any steps that could defuse tensions in the region."
I.e., give us whatever we ask for.
And so it continues.
Expect Blair to issue a strongly worded statement any year now.
It will never happen, but I would love to see the BBC having Tony Blair answer the Iranian demands with him positively autographing his name to cruise missiles with:
To Ahmadinejad,
Thanks for the torture of my people and I hope you get a bang out of this.
Luv luv kiss kiss Tony Blair
Lame Cherry
What a luverly idea but Blair won't ever do that.
Brit's 'heroic' leader is only worried about his own ass & how he can best leave being a second Neville Chambelain to racheting up huge sums of money speaking on International Circuit[circus]-ask Bill Clinton.
Best places are Saudi Arabia & Dubai where you
can hear our shameless, greedy politicians praising Islam as a 'noble, peaceful & great Religion'-yuk! Guess a fat cheque from a fat Arab
makes betrayal of their own,worthwhile.
Is it any wonder those 15 sailors weren't prepared to risk their lives for corrupt,Dhimmi
government of New Labour or such an ignoble Leader as Blair.
Time to spit on this creep and turn out with placards wherever Bliar Blair goes-Free sons & daughters of England.
Unless one believes in amazing coincidences, it looks like a deal was made with Iran to free the British soldiers, and it wasn't the UK that caved. This Iranian diplomat claims to have been held and detained (and of course, tortured) by the CIA in Iraq, and he was released the day before the British soldiers were.
If the Iranians decided to kidnap British soldiers, knowing that Blair would be forced to put pressure on Bush to make a deal, that was pretty smart on the Iranians part. I'm sure the situation didn't help the coalition's internal stresses. We have ten times the opportunity to exploit the same sorts of stresses within the Islamic world, and we're just not taking advantage of it. We have leaders of no imagination, no knowledge of history, and most of all, no ruthlessness.
I've been wondering if this whole thing was a set by the Iranians. Maybe they hoped that the sailor would fire back, then the Iranians could claim that they were fired on unprovoked, the they could officially enter the war. Am I crazy to think this?
The US and Britain have to keep the pressure on Iran with their hands in IUD in Iraq, and continued handing over money to Hiz boys. The world knows the Iranians were guilty of taking hostages of those Brits, and they need to be reminded of that.
I have no sympathy for the British who have let their country be over run by islamics then sit on their hands and do nothing.
It's more important to go to overseas soccer matches and start violence with allied countries who have also suffered islamic atrocities.
Where are these "patriotic" Brits when the muslim hoards march through the streets of their homeland spewing death threats to all non muslims?
Maybe the "Chunnel" has allowed the French cowards disease to flow under the English channel and infect the wimps.
This would never happen in Australia.

Iran finds weak West
By SALIM MANSUR
The Toronto Sun
"Tehran's probing of Britain's resolve by kidnapping its sailors could be indicative of the British mood being the same as in the rest of Europe, of appeasing and accommodating Iran. If this is so and clerical rulers of Iran are proven right, then only President George Bush stands between Tehran's ambition and its consummation.
But the Bush administration is beset with problems exacerbated by a swing in American mood in the direction of European appeasers.
The clerics in Tehran will wait out the remaining months of Bush in the White House for they know too well the Democratic party of Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton, and taking British sailors hostage is their endgame move to run the West out of the Middle East."
That's funny.. first they take hostages now they want a reward. Could this be a Pavlovian reaction to "arms for hostages"?
Or is this simply an ingraned reflex of islam?
They didn't kill the dhimmies so now they must be paid jizya? I wish I were in charge of Britain. I'd tell them where to shove the jizya!!
And I'd run all of Labour out of the country for good measure. Send them on a long holiday in Pakistan!
So Iran gives "gifts" with strings attached?
I'm sending back the George Foreman grill sent to me from Iran for last Nouruz.
Have you read a viewpoint from tomorrow's Oman newspaper?
A wise decision by Iran
I suggest that the UK reward Iran's behavior by giving them a few Tomahawk missiles. The UK's navy would be able to assure efficient and prompt delivery.

US radio reported last night that Britain had ended its participation in boarding and inspection programs.
I don't know if the report was accurate. If it was, that is very sad.
What's next, mines in 'disputed' waters? Iran claims territorial waters around islands, which the US does not recognize.
Operation Preying Mantis was nearly twenty years ago. Refreshing reading.

please keep sick bucket (al la mr creosote style) handy before you watch this film about some british girl suffering from the stockholm syndrome.
5 years time she'll be strapping on something!
Buddy
good question! yet most socialists and some on jihadwatch assume that these soccer thugs are somehow connected to the BNP. this is BS, the BNP are a political animal, akin to conservatism in the 1950s. we need those soccer thugs to channel their aggression and energy into british nationalism and democratic, peaceful politics, not mindless violence against an ally.
the thugs will not save us, but they have a leader waiting to control them, its unfortunate that socialism controls the press and the minds of the british public.
What Iran did is the equivalent of the angry loner who lives next to a park. His lawn ends at the beginning most outer boundaries of the park. He’s the kind of nut who constantly yells at the kids in the park to shut up and not to walk on his grass, etc. You know the type of personality—we’ve all had a brush with those kinds of jerks in life. So one day some kids are playing baseball and the ball lands close to his lawn but it still is within the park boundaries. So this angry loner crosses a foot or two into the park and takes the baseball, he refuses to give it back to the kids. He tells the kids that he warned them not to play near his house and now that the baseball has landed on his lawn, he says he’s keeping it! Well these kids yell bloody murder and tell him to give the baseball back. The kids say that the baseball never landed on his property and that this man needs to give them back their baseball.
Well he doesn’t and the next day some parents of the kids try to politely speak with this loner but he again refuses to return the baseball. Now one of the parents’ of these kids, who is active in local neighbourhood politics begins to up the ante. This mother knows that this loner, let’s call him Garry, has caused difficulties for other people in the neighbourhood. Garry constantly yells at anyone who is walking too close by his house. He yells at neighbours to keep down the noise level. He writes up personal parking tickets and places it them on car windshields warning them to park further away from his home (he specifically writes how far their cars must be from his house). He blocks every city building permit he can in his neighbourhood dealing from the smallest home renovations to the complete demolition of a housing lot. So this mother, let’s call her Nancy, writes up a petition from neighbour that Garry’s action was the breakpoint and he is to immediately return the baseball. Nancy gets 250 local neighbourhood signatures and hand delivers this petition to Garry. She tells Garry that unless he immediately returns the baseball to these kids, he will face even further consequences. Nancy tells Garry that unless he complies, she will notify her local city councillor regarding this incident. Of course we all know that even under this local pressure, Garry would not budge from his stubborn position!
So in a short matter of time Nancy tells her local city councillor, this issue gets picked up by the local city news and then someone comes forward with a video tape showing what happened. A parent who was video taping his family in the park on the day of question just got 5 seconds of video as he did a panning shot. And this video clip clearly shows that Garry did indeed cross into to the park in order to retrieve the baseball! The baseball never landed in Garry’s lawn! So in the end Garry has a short news conference blaming kids in general for ruining his lawn. He goes on this entire long tirade about how kids playing in the park are a nuisance and how he’s had to repair various items (gives a laundry list) due to vandalism. But then at the very end he smiles and says that although the kids playing baseball close to his house didn’t mean to hit the baseball into his yard, he was giving them back their baseball as a gift!
Now doesn’t this analogy sum up Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s actions regarding having a pattern of bizarre and harmful behaviour to his neighbours and to the world in general. And that he accuses the British of crossing over to Iranian territorial waters when in fact that it was those Iranian military personnel who crossed over into Iraqi waters in order to snatch those 15 British naval members. And as the world pressure got ratcheted up, Ahmadinejad increased his stubborn refusal to immediately release these British naval personnel. And eventually video came out showing the actually GPS location were the British were at the time of their capture, of course it was in Iraqi waters! In the end Ahmadinejad went on a political and completely fruitless tirade of this incident in a press conference where he ended off by announcing Iran’s forthcoming release of these 15 British captives. He smiled and said that he was releasing these British sailors and marines as a gift! Well what exactly could he do? His back was against the wall so as a good psychopath he didn’t accept blame and in order justify his actions he used reverse logic. In his mind, he’s not the bad guy, he sees the British as the aggressors but in order to demonstrate how forgiving he is, he forgives the enemy for doing wrong. And further as a gift to his enemy, he’s giving back his enemy their military personnel back as a gift. But now that he has presented Britain with a gift, he’s expecting them to return the favour and do something reasonable for him!
That’s exactly how the mind of a psychopath works, he does wrong to everybody around him but in his mind’s eye it’s completely the reverse. Everyone else is to blame and everyone else is wrong and it’s his actions that are perfect! Ahmadinejad is a psychopath because he does wrong, everybody knows it but in his mind’s eye he is completely justified in his thoughts and actions! He’s not to blame for the Middle East problems, the Zionist are and so is Zionist run America! If he goes overboard with his actions like with this current situation, he gets around capitulating to world pressure by justifying that his enemies are still wrong but….well, you know the rest of the story. He honestly feels he’s actually a nice guy and that he won’t put on trial these British captives for spying because he’s giving back them back as a gift!
This whole situation is no different than an angry loner grabbing a baseball on the ground close to his home and keeping it! You can’t steal something from somebody and when the owner(s) of that item cry foul, you can’t just gift back a stolen item! Essentially anyone who honestly feels no blame to theft and when forced to return the item makes an inverted justification for this situation is a psychopath! Ahmadinejad is a psychopath without a doubt!
I hope now the Western nations in particular will begin to wake up and stop thinking that Ahmadinejad is a reasonable man! He’s a psychopath! A psychopath doesn’t think reasonably, he doesn’t act rationally and like a pedophile—he’s never going to change, so get it through your thick skulls! You can’t negotiate in good faith with a psychopath. You can’t be business partners with a psychopath or if you do, you’ll loose your shirt! Everything that will go wrong will be your fault and when a psychopath steals money from your business don’t expect getting your money back! Or if you’re lucky enough to get your psychopathic business partner to return the stolen funds, he won’t accept any blame and will ultimately put the blame on you. And your psychopathic business partner will return the money back to you as a gift just as long as you don’t call the police on him.
But in the real world, people and nations are just beginning to come to the realization that there really is no police to call when they get burned by doing business with Ahmadinejad. So now the true test of Western leadership is what do you do with Ahmadinejad? Because no one’s coming to your rescue if you get burned by Ahmadinejad! You can’t keep putting off the inevitable; eventually you’ll have to come up with a permanent solution for dealing with Ahmadinejad. Do you wait until he becomes a psychopath who also possesses a nuclear bomb? Or do you deal with a psychopath when he’s still relatively weak?
The choice is yours to make!
What the mOslem munchkin doesn't know is that they already HAVE rewarded them...
UK showed incredible restraint in not giving them a well-deserved bombing of their refineries in response to that ACT OF WAR in Iraqi waters via PIRACY, which it was.
UK showed incredible restraint in light of the mOslem munchkin violating the very same "geneva convention" that his lackeys have so crammed down OUR throats over FAR LESS, by treatement of the hostages they kidnapped in Iraqi waters, which is, once again, an ACT OF WAR via piracy.
UK still holds diplomatic relations with this religious thugocracy, which is far more than they deserve.
UK has NOT taken out their 5th columnists inside the UK, which they could under their security act (equivalent to our Patriot Act but far more stringent & makes ours look lame by comparison).
I could go on and on...but you get the point...and he wants WHAT?????
LMAO
Give them what they ask for indeed. BOOOOOM!!
Iran fools noone they themselves are the fools. They are the court jesters and are never to be kings. All thier days are numbered be it tomorrow or whenever they WILL get what they have been asking for,not what they are wanting but what they deserve.
I am happy to say you have but a short time my evil friends to do as your master allah bids, but even he,so far below God the True God,knows he has already lost and all of you along with him.
good riddance and may you swim eternaly in the blood spilled for allah.
And all that jazz.
This may help shed some light on irans actual situation, and why they're acting as they are.

when the Muslims anger the world enough, Iran could look a lot like this:

...I tried to find anything left, but failed...
