You can tell why these decadent models are under arrest. Look at the scanty dress. Look at all that exposed skin. Sinful, bound to shake the security and dignity of any young man, old ones too.
Go to jail, go directly to jail, dont pass go and dont collect $200. A fitting punishment for the tormentors of men...

My God, all those progressive Western 'feminists' are going absolutely FURIOUS about this when they find out! They'll be demanding economic boycotts, sanctions against the regime, and possibly even military action against these horrible and wicked Islamic woman haters.

Won't they?

NAH! They will be too busy criticizing the war in Iraq and fighting for the "civil rights" of the Muslims in the West to live by Shari'a law!

time we funded the iranian resistance, trained their troops and start targeted assinations.

next month condi is holding talks with iranian leaders. why?

I wonder if Condi will be wearing the requisite garbage bag?

Gotta love you Rita!!

That was enemyofislam's point--we use a lot of sarcasm and humor--tongue and cheek, you know.

Does that picture bring back memories? Rita, how do you think this will play for the masses of women there? Will there be any protests or will they shut up and cover up in black and start to be obedient little muslims?

Should I wait or hold my breath to find out that the left wing females everywhere, or I probably should say anywhere, are sputtering their outrage?

Or should I expect what we get when we expect outrage from all those 'moderate' muslims when those radicals are 'twisting' the koran?

Now, admittedly these women get to keep their heads and are also not next in line for a good stoning - but gee, I would like to see the likes of any of the left wing in Europe and/or the USA be told that they are harlots for wearing the wrong tent and are forbidden to do anything that their little heads desire to do. I am still waiting for Baldwin and a few others to leave the USA after Bush got elected president. I guess I was born to wait...

It's easy to be sarcastic but you don't know what its like being a man. These women are all being stopped for 'showing hair' and well they should be! The one hausfrau with a bad perm peeking out the front of her polyester scarf I want to take her right there on the pavement - its too exciting.

These female religious police remind me of goody two-shoes catholic school informers: "St. Margaret, Mary is not studying her catechism she's reading Teen Beat."

It's pretty amazing to see how Islam condemns hypocrisy on the one hand while fully indulging itself in it on the other. These theocrats claim a modesty police is necessary to combat indecency
and decadence yet these dirty old perverts most likely engage in the worst kinds of real debauchery. And that's just fine-after all, the revered Satan Khomeini said you can have sex with animals and infants if you follow proper procedures. It seems the most devout Muslims are often the worst profaners of their own "religion".

He calls the female enforcers the "black cows." Yes!

Stop hounding out people like ritamalik that are on our side.

Are you people out on the streets protesting? How about it? Don't just call out the feminists, eh? All of you should go out. The girls in Iran have the courage to go out without the shroud - as the phots show.

I'd like to see photos of you all, marching.

BTW, I dare to say, that I, I DO critizie the war in IRaq. It was a terrible mistake to remove Sadam Hussain. He know what he was dealing with - Sunnia and Shiites - and kept them in control with an iron fist. THAT'S THE WAY THEY HAVE TO BE KEPT!

Now what? Now what?

Now our kids are getting killed trying to keep them in control.

The difference betw Saddam and our soldiers now is that we can't win there, because we have been brought up to respect life - while the islamics are like roaches and rats crawling over the landscape - the more you kill, the more they keep coming.

There are always onslaughts - waves of more of them - and they keep coming.

allat:

Before giving so much credit to Saddam for maintaining a state of secular peace in Iraq, I suggest you read two recent articles by Christopher Hitchens re: Iraq without Saddam. He argues that the sectarian melt-down in the non-Kurdish area was inevitable and shows what a difference the "no fly zone" over the Kurdish region made:

Hell of a Country: http://www.slate.com/id/2164824/fr/flyout

Holiday in (Kurdish) Iraq: http://www.vanityfair.com/politics/features/2007/04/hitchens200704

I knew the woman in the black chador reminded me of someone:

After she's done there, she'll ride away on her bike with Toto in the basket.

No, thing is simple, and of course, I'm not an expert in politics. I do know thatther are so many reasons for the happenings.

It wasn't only the violence of Saddam - although, he held the country together. Don't forget that the U.S. had the country under sanctions since 1992, I believe. That was cause for terrible suffering there.

And don't forget that the U.S. encouraged the 1991 Uprising Against Saddam - promising to back up the Rebels - and then, abandoned them, when Saddam came down hard on them. For that, there was much suffering. I spoke to a man here, in NY about that. The Iraqis will never forget the betrayal.

It wasn't only Saddam to blame, we must take responsability also.

I read the article, and was amused that the writer thought having McDonald Arches was an advance.

And yes, I agree that the Kurds should and MUST have their own country. It isn't as if the borders of Iran were from ancient times, as the borders are artificial. I do know there was a Kurdistan in ancient times. Good luck to them, but for some strange reason, Turkey hates their guts, and will NOT allow them independence. Not in Iraq and certainly, not in Turkey.

I don't know why not, it would both the problems of the Turks - with the Kurdish rebels, and those in Iraq.

It's the same problem as the Palestinians. The borders are artificial, the ethinic group and religion is the same (Arabs), but the saudis will not cut out a piece of territory, nor the Jordanians, nor the Egyptians. Nothing for the Palestinians. OR the Kurds?

What happened, aren't they all brothers in the religion?

Catherine: Your little warhawk, are you in the military? The way you speak so eager to send our young off to war to get killed - and don't you forget - these are our best and brightest. Our next generation to bring forth our culture.

May dear girl, we have less than 200 million young peole in this country - in this culture - and look at how many the islamic countries have.

Are you open - for a vaccuum left here - to be filled by others?

Because right now we don't have any young men - mature and able - to protect our womenfolk.

There are a lot of islamics coming here - and more being admitted.

So, I love the way you are eager to send away more and more of our marriageble men.

But - Catherine, unless you are in the military and signing in from an Internet in Iraq or Afghanistan - I wouldn't talk.

"what about all the gang killings across the USA and drug deaths??"

That is why we should keep our National Guard here!

To my friend BB,

You asked what would the result of this operation will be and will there be any protests or will they shut up and cover up in black and start to be obedient little Muslims. Well… I don’t know. But my parents still live there and they will keep me posted. I think older women might be less bold and cover up right away to avoid clashes and trouble, but I am sure many younger women and teenagers will not give up so easily. But I am not sure if they will manage to resist the brutality of the regime eventually. They might gradually give up. I don’t know. This time they are being tougher than usual. This is the first time that they are exiling people for unIslamic dress. I simply don’t know the answer.

And of course the photo brings back memories. I was arrested by these dogs twice and I spent several days in their jail. And of course many times also they came up to me to gave me “guidance”! Let me write you one of them: In Iran if a male and a female walk together in the street or sit in the same car they have to have proof that they are MAHRAM which means they are related to each other either as father and daughter, mother and son, husband and wife, or brother and sister. Otherwise men and women who are not in such relationships with each other, who dare to walk around town together or ride in the same car are risking arrest by the moral police. So at all times you better have some document with you to prove your “legal relationship” with the man or woman you are hanging around with. So once my father and I were walking together in the street and a moral policeman decided to check us. He approached us while trying to maintain an aura of importance around himself and asked us what is our relationship, and when we claimed that we are father and daughter they demanded that we show proof and after we showed our driver’s licenses with our personal information they calmed down. But at this point my father who is over 60 y.o. and has white hair started to lose it and got really angry and said how dare he suspects a man at his age of having an illicit relationship with a woman who is his daughter’s age! Now the moral police guy who was a bit busted for catching the wrong people started to say: “But sir, you should be happy and thankful that we are patrolling around and controlling and protecting the chastity and honor of your women! You have no idea what cases we see every day! Men even older than you date teens and such immoralities that you cannot even imagine!” It was really funny and at the same time angering to hear this idiotic zealot boast about his “services to society” and anyway my father just got angrier at his response and said: “I don’t need you to protect my daughter’s chastity! I trust her completely!” and we parted!

The modesty police is a phoney sham. What Iranians should worry about is their Supreme Leader allows marriages of nine year little girls to old perverts.

I can't tell from this photo.

Are these men or women?

Allat:

My boy, you need to practice your English.

You mischaracterized my friend Catherine when you accused her of equating herself with animals and spiders. Read her post again, please. She identifies herself as a huntress and a killer of vermin.

And, for your information, I have it on the best of authority that she paints her toes. In addition to THAT brave anti-muslim "obscenity" she has and can competently use a Remington 870 12-gauge shotgun.

All things considered, Catherine is a formidable force for good, and you would be wise not to go messing with her.

R_not observes:

"Now, admittedly these women get to keep their heads and are also not next in line for a good stoning . . ."

And therein lies all the muslim whoopla about mercy, and kindness. If they don't kill you like the Koran allows or instructs, then there is great mercy and kindness. These qualities do not exist in and of themselves, only as EXCEPTIONS to the usual course of action.

If they don't cut you hand, foot, or head, off, well, then they are merciful.

What a lot of ka-ka.

Allat and Texan...Not only does Catherine fight the good fight, and paint her nails at the same time, she wears short skirts as well...viva La Catherine, and I dont even speak French...

Certainly one of the most curious things to any neutral bystander is the complete absence of any comment by western feminists about these recent developments in Iran. Many of us have been puzzling for some time now about the curious failure of western feminists to condemn the burkha. (On the contrary, some western feminists appear to have embraced the concept.)

One can come up with all sorts of theories about 3rd worldism trumping western feminism concerns in explaining this anomoly but I'm more and more inclined to side with one of Debbie Schlussel's recent observations that what motivates this ultimately is that many western feminists are just downright ugly. They tried eliminating makeup from western women. God knows what they thought they were accomplishing by eliminating the bra. But if you think about it, the burkha is the "great equalizer". If you were born uglier than many people and completely unwilling to make any effort to compensate for that fact by dieting, exercising, learning to dress or use makeup to enhance whatever assets you did have, etc. - wouldn't YOU want to stick every woman in a burkha out of sheer envy, in order to even the natural inequalities between human beings? It makes perfect sense. One can try to redistribute income in order to level the human playing field but what do you do about the fact that some human beings are simply born more beautiful and so are more likely to reap more social benefits as a consequence? How unfair! Apparently, to judge from the pictures, many women are playing a quite active role in this "round-up". How does one really explain that?

In the end, no matter what high-minded ideals people espouse for their actions, much of the real explanation for human behavior often comes down to the most base human instincts and impulses. Stuff like insecurity, and ego, and envy. We're used to the concept of folks trying to take from the rich out of envy for their accomplishments. But even if one could accomplish that income redistribution in order to level the human playing field, what exactly would one do about the fact of inequality of physical beauty, especially if one were a woman, for whom that is much more important than it is for men? I think I know the answer to that one. Look at the the black-cloaked figure in this picture rounding the more stylish women up. Isn't the burkha the ugly, angry, jealous, (so-called feminist) socialist's dream?

MarisolJW!

You are not alone! That was my immediate impression the moment I saw the picture: Its THE WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST!! Yikes!
Toto, we are not in Kansas anymore! Watch out for flying ( jihadist ) monkeys!

NOW I know where I saw that black crow before! She taught women's studies at Podunk state a few years back, and could always be there when they needed someone to shout insults at pro-life protesters...

OPEN YOUR EYES LET’S LEARN FROM THE PAST AND STOP THIS PC CRAP!!!

Moros, Insurgency, and the Operational Environment
Insurgency in the Philippines may be a continuing a struggle that can be traced back to the 15th and 16th centuries. Islam arrived in the southern Philippines in the 14th century, spread from the Indonesian Archipelago by seafaring Muslim traders and teachers, and by the 16th century, had spread throughout the islands of the Sulu Archipelago into Mindanao, pushing North. These communities were based on their own developing concepts of authority, social relationships, and sovereignty.[1]
These Islam Moro communities collided violently with Spanish explorers and a population that had converted to Catholicism.

Juramentado and Jihad
Americans quickly became familiar with the Moro practice in the suicide attacks. The Spanish before the Americans called it juramentado, roughly translated into "oath-taking." It is the Sulu Moro interpretation of jihad. This dedication swore to kill as many Christians as possible before dying with their reward being ascent into paradise

Gold Star for you today!!

And we can't forget the Plastic surgen do wonder matter of fact heard a story about lots of iranis have nose jobs so why would they spen the money to just cover their faces?

very sad that women would such a thing to other women to crush FREEDOM shame shame WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE FROM THE WOMEN LEFTIS? OH yea goig to one square LOL LOL

Why women can be police anyway in Iran?

When I look at those pictures something isn't right. You have modern men and women who are asked to abide to a archaïc arab cult created by a pedophile schizophrenic moron.

It really makes me sad to see the state of Iran. The Persian Empire was as great as the one of Rome and of Byzantium and now look at how they try to enslave young people who only long for liberty.

From the Great King Cyrus who liberated the Jews from their captivity in Babylonia to Amhadinejad who wants to eradicate the Jews from the face of the earth! The Iranian, Pakistanis, the Afghans, who are all Persian and thus of the same lines as the Europeans deserve so much more than this stupid cult named Islam.

But one thing is for sure; Iran is a great nation and civilization and one day, it will be able to free itself from their chains. Iranians are not stupid Arabs, they know they deserve better than Islam.

I've read this from Ali Sina as well, and I wonder - on what basis is this claim made? Let's say, hypothetically, that Iran were to throw off Islam and become Zoroastrian. That might inspire Barbers and Darfur Muslims to follow suit due to existing differences with Arabs, but why anyone else? Why would it encourage Muslims elsewhere - overwhelming majority of whom are Sunni - to follow suit? Take Indonesia and Malaysia, for instance. If they were in the mood to throw off Islam, why would they wait for Iran to do so first? Or alternatively, why would Iran's doing it encourage them to do it as well?

Moving westwards, why would Bangladesh or Pakistan be encouraged? In their cases, they like to pretend that they are Arab - Pakistanis are flattered when mistaken for Arabs, and Bangladeshis have not just Muslim names, but heavily Arabized names that people don't normally find in the sub-continent - like Khaled, Rasel, Jubair, not just your usual Mohammed Husseins. Besides, if they stop being Islamic, their rationale for being separate from India largely goes away (although Indians aren't likely to want to unite with them for fear of a sinking economy).

While Tajikistan might follow that example, why would one think that the Turks in Turkestan and Turkey, and the Afghans, would follow suit? And the Kurds - sure they hate Arabs, but they hate Farsis as well.

And Arabs? It has been a major miscalculation that Iraq would show the way - that hasn't happened. The only countries that might show the way are Egypt and Saudi Arabia. But while there are a few Arabs who have wrestled their conscience and lost, the question would remain as to why any Arab Muslim would want to discard Islam, given the superiority complex that Islam bestows on Arabs? Sure, there are all the other underpinnings of Islam that keep them backward, but why would Iran breaking away from the ummah be an example for them to follow, particularly given how much they disdain and dispise the 'Persians'?
