Protestant Pastor: “secular” Turkey; enough mockery!

A Protestant pastor in AsiaNews (thanks to all who sent this in) calls the "secular" Turkish government on its manifest hypocrisy toward Christians.

The Christian religious tells AsiaNews that the arrest of five young men, in connection with the Malatya massacre, and the cries of condemnation hide the far worse reality of an Islamic country where religious freedom is non existent and false propaganda is spread to target followers of Christ.

Ankara (AsiaNews) – Five young men arrested in connection to yesterday’s murder of three employees of Zirve Christian publishing house in Malatya. Little more than boys, as were the assassins of Don Andrea Santoro and the Christian journalist Hrant Dink, it appears that fanatical religious declarations were found on them. This is where news of the story ends, accompanied by condemnation – mainly of a generic nature – from Turkey’s political leaders.

Speaking to AsiaNews a Protestant Pastor outlines the situation in Turkey, where the “secular” State only counts for Christians, while the mass media all too often make use of, indeed even promote, a campaign of disinformation and defamation. In this case too, the Malata governor Ibrahim Dasoz’s immediate reaction is highly significant; he maintains that it was “not an attack” but rather the result of “internal clashes" within the publishing house, while media reports seek to place responsibility at the door of the deceased whom they accuse of “distributing” Bibles, an activity regarded as proselytism and thus were “enemies of Turkey”. Even the Turkish Minister for Religious Affairs, Mehmet Aydin, recently declared that those who practise proselytism “divide the nation”. This is the testimony of a Pastor who for obvious reasons will remain anonymous.

“Where are we? I am disgusted by theses atrocities which seem to repeat themselves again and again with ever increasing violence, in a country which promotes itself as a secular and democratic majority Muslim nation. But where is the respect for differences, for the religious and ethnic minorities present on the territory? We were almost used to the continual background slander and accusations of proselytism, of giving out money and faith, we were almost used to being ladled as “infidel Muslim grabbers”, who – poor things – allow themselves be brainwashed by us, convinced by a mere handful of dollars hidden in a Bible. But we never could have imagined that all of this would have led to such an atrocious gesture, prepared in the name of God, carried out against Christians”.

[...]

Yesterdays act was a horrific one: three employees were brutally slaughtered, blindfolded them, their hands and feet bound and their throats slit. Yet again it appears to have been carried out by five young fanatical university students, who completely out of their minds carried out this ferocious act for the love of Allah.

Why to they persist in mocking us? Today, Turkey cries out at the shocking scandal, against the nightmare of religious hatred which persists, yet no-one is courageous enough to really take a stand, to condemn not only this religious hatred, but also the mass media which with great subtly and cunning continues to brainwash people with propaganda which incites them to believe that we are evil, that we want to wipe them out, to take away their faith and turn them from their beliefs in the God of Mohammad. Is it not perhaps the opposite? Look at the figures, look at the statistics: they tell us that since the era of Ataturk the construction of places of worship have been banned, and for this we are not authorized to open new churches, only there where there is already a Christian presence (usually foreigners), but the mosques sprout up like mushrooms all over Turkey. They tells us that , once again due to Ataturks’ laws, we cannot run courses of Christian formation, seminars, nor – taking into account what happened yesterday – can we produce didactic materials to educate or inform Christians. Why, I ask, does no-one speak out against courses on the Koran which are held each summer in public schools for children?

They fear conversions, but its nota s if we are a pack of missionaries who go around baptizing all everybody we meet: let us count the numbers of newly converted, let us count the numbers of pastors and religious who live on Turkish soil, then let us count the number of Imams who receive a monthly wage from the State, let us count the number of Christians who go to Islam due to work pressures or marriage, if we do so we see there can be no doubts about the massive imbalance.

If Turkey truly wants to be a free, democratic, secular republic, then it has to stop mocking us. Rather it should seriously commit itself to defending and safeguarding the rights of each citizen, of each person despite their ethnic or religious background. But is their really the will to do so? Who is it that wants to make us hate this land and these people who we came to serve and help, and for whom we are ready to give our own lives? Let us begin to admit in all honesty and transparency who is behind the murders, which for over a year now, have been plaguing the nation of Turkey: after don Andrea Santoro, Hrant Dink, and our three Presbyterian employees, whose turn is it next?

Someone was being kind in not describing the extent of the torture inflicted on these unfortunates.
Scores(a score is 20) of slashes, many on sensitive body parts...these muslims were worse than evil, they were in an Allahic rapture. For the love of Allah...Yes indeed, it is no secret, Allah likes that kind of stuff. As I have previously pointed out, contact with Allah causes psychotic episodes in believers, the Allahphrenic five, are proof.

Only a matter of time before Turkey eliminates its Christians, which will begin a wave of such purges across the Middle East. They will then deny anything happened, just like they deny killing Armenians.

I remain in prayer for the conversion of the Turkic peoples from Macedonia to Qinghai and points in between. And I also pray that it will be increasingly clear to the whole world just who it is that makes Islam look bad--the imams and jehadis.

I also pray that it will be increasingly clear to the whole world just who it is that makes Islam look bad--the imams and jehadis.

And all the rest of the Muslims who are silent spectators to the slaughter.

Well, obviously atrocities don't look bad to the overwhelming majority of moslems. I think most are content to allow others to commit these acts on their behalf.

Prayer never hurts.

But sometimes the best tool is blame and shame.

Shame on the MSM for not reporting these things; for not blaming the actors and their enablers and their pathetic religion.

What is past is prologue. What some protestant or catholic actually expect from turks? To end up better than orthodox christians did?

"After don Andrea Santoro, Hrant Dink, and our three Presbyterian employees, whose turn is it next?"

I pray I'm wrong, but the answer to the Protestant pastor's question, after this tirade, unfortunately is: It's YOUR turn.

When up is down -- black is white -- good is bad -- and evil is ignored...

This sordid tale is a foil for our predicament in a very interesting way.

I, for one, believe that Islam should be outlawed in the West. I consider the doctrine of Islam to be a Doctrine of War, and as such, practice of Islam should be banned, or severely limited in the West.

If my idea ever prevails (which, by the way, I think is absolutely necessary if we ever hope to repel the effectiveness of the vile Islamic Jihad all Muslims are waging against us...) then isn't it ironic that WE would be blamed for the kind of intolerance that they Muslims across the globe are clearly guilty of?

Ban Islam and Islam only. Hindus? No problem. Jews? No problem. Sikhs? No problem. Animists, Wiccans? No problem. It's clearly the Muslims and Islam which pose the grievous threat to everything we hold dear. Yet Ban Islam, and WE would be blamed by the Muslims and their stooges, the rabid leftist secularists, of being the totalitarians, the fascists, the Nazis.

It's the Muslims who are the modern day Nazis. Thought cleansing their dominions with relentless and hateful zeal. In Indonesia -- it's positively unsafe for all Christians and Hindus today. In Pakistan, Hindus are being sytematically ethnicly cleansed. In former Yugoslavia, with the aid of the Europeans (predictable) and sadly America (unacceptable) we're helping Muslims to claim new land, and cleanse new swaths for Islam on the doorstep of the West.

Just as all the failures of the Islamic world are blamed by Muslims and their leftist cohorts on the West, on old straw men like "the Zionists" and "White Colonialism", all the heinous violence spewing forth from the Muslim world gushers of , intolerance and hatred are not blamed on Muslims and Islam -- We are blamed -- the most inclusive tolerant and successful society that has ever emerged on our planet.

They all say islam is a religion of peace and tolerance but where are the churches in Saudi?

"They all say islam is a religion of peace and tolerance but where are the churches in Saudi?"

don't ask this question, i don't mind having churches in deserts like saudi arabia, what should be our goals is not to have any mosque in civilized countries.

They tells us that , once again due to Ataturks’ laws, we cannot run courses of Christian formation, seminars, nor – taking into account what happened yesterday – can we produce didactic materials to educate or inform Christians. Why, I ask, does no-one speak out against courses on the Koran which are held each summer in public schools for children?

attaturk was not secular he was anti christian thats why his laws are anti christian. some People on this site who praise attaturk and his so called secular goverment need to get a clue and think about the millions of orthodox christians he murdered and stop all this crap how TUrkey is only bad becuase of of islamic finatics it was the same or maybe worse under attaturk

after don Andrea Santoro, Hrant Dink, and our three Presbyterian employees, whose turn is it next?

He forgot to mention the millions of armenians Greeks and assyrian christians ?

I completely agree with you Greek Gurl. The notion that Turkey is supposedly a secular state, is a joke.
Posted by: EliasAlucard

And I agree with you both. The stories coming out of Germany re. the behavior of the Turks over there are simply atrocious.

If they are so secular why do they build so many mosks?

If they are so secular why do they commit honor killings?

Why do they slaughter livestock in their bathtubs?

Why do they call German citizens "pork eaters"?

And on and on..

We have to ask: Why are Germans so stupid to allow this filth in?

Greek Gurl, EliasAlucard, and my favorite name on this site Allahfanculo I agree with all of you.

For anyone who has read any of my posts here before knows I've always stated that Turkey's claim of being secular is a sham.

This is only a tactic used by Islamic Generals who want to keep the power of the country in their hands, and not in the hands of Imams. The rest of the policies and ideals are all based off of Islam.

No religion other than Islam will exist in Turkey in about 100 years. They've managed through conquest, forced conversion and genocide to create a 99% Muslim country. Doesn't sound very secular to me.

Allahfanculo:

I think I read in a comment on a different thread that you were in Germany but judging from your question's syntax I don't think you're a native.

Your question, "Why are Germans so stupid to allow this filth in?"

Since the '50s, W. Germany imported "guest workers" to do the more menial jobs that native Germans eschewed to do as their country entered prosperity. Not much later, social programs were instituted to promote welfare, social security and other safety net issues. But taxation would have been murderous so they opened the gates to many more turkish "guest workers" The original "guest workers" are now retired and collecting benefits and now their grandchildren don't consider themselves guests at all--but they don't consider themselves German, either.

To make things worse, Germans (understandably) are more sensitive to charges of racism than we in the US. Because ethnic German youth are threatened they go too far in the other direction and can become skinheads and neonazis. Their acts are often in retaliation for crimes commited by the turks against whites.

What's a fella to do?

aynrandgirl-

Just be glad there aren't enough Christians left in Turkey for their massacre to qualify as a "genocide", as it did with the Armenians.

Thanks God for small favors.

I can't wait until we will toast over kosher wine the construction of a new synagogue and church in Saudi Arabia. Until then, I'll be skeptical about the Religion of Peace claim...

Fight dhimmitude and visit http://www.masada1234.blogspot.com

my caregiver spent a couple years teaching in Saudi Arabia and he had to smuggle the Bible in as a textbook and be very cautious when reading it Muslims go berserk whenever they think their precious Koran being insulted or defamed yet they think nothing of using the Bible as toilet paper or doing the same with the Torah so it's not surprising how Muslim Turks would treat Christian minorities in their midst all we had to do is look at what happened to the Armenians and the fact turkey still will not acknowledge what they did and unfortunately our Western leaders are in such a hurry to get the publicity from admitting a Muslim nation into NATO and the EU ignores history unfortunately history has a habit of biting those in the behind that forget the lessons history has taught

One more nail in the coffin for Turkey's EU membership

hope hope

Islam is the Devil's masterpiece in which he has the audacity to impersonate God Himself under the guise of "Allah". What more effective way to steal a man's soul as to have him commit murder and suicide in one swift action?

Before we get mad at Germany for letting in Turkish Guest Workers, it was outreach to those selfsame Guestworkers that resulted in Evangelical churches being planted in Turkey by and for ex-Muslims. Maybe if there was a little more showing of human sympathy and less sneering at the Muslim sojourners in our midst the glaring contrast between real Christianity and real Islam would be more apparent to the latter's followers--and we'd multiply the re-introduction of Christianity to Turkey a few hundred times over.

Do good to your enemy and your pour burning coals on his head--Paul said something like that. Do good to Muslims (coupled with a prayerful, thoughtful witness), and you end up doing more damage to the Qu'ran and its message than you would by using it as tp. I strongly, strongly suspect that that's why the Evangelicals are now in Turkey, God bles them.

Yeah.

No religion other than Islam will exist in Turkey in about 100 years.

That's almost the case right now.

Posted by: EliasAlucard

That actually is the case right now, but I gave the benefit of doubt that for the next century some Christians might still be there in hiding.

It's a terrible thing to be non Muslim and living in secular Turkey. Turkish law pertaining to the Patriarch of Constantinople states that only Turkish born citizens can rise to that position. With less than 2,000 Greeks left there, and the small Armenian and Assyrian populations this is going to be very intersting the next few years.

thanks for the link elias but i doubt that turkey will apologise for the christian genocide
