U.N.: U.S. offers refuge to Palestinians

What effort will be made to screen out supporters of Hamas in particular and the jihad ideology in general? None. Absolutely none. From UPI, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:

DAMASCUS, Syria, April 5 (UPI) -- The head of a U.N. agency charged with caring for Palestinian refugees said the United States has offered to receive 7,000 Palestinians who fled Iraq.

Karen Koning AbuZayd, commissioner general of the U.N. Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees, said Thursday no specific country has offered to receive Palestinian refugees in Iraq, "but I know the United States confirmed it can take 7,000 of them."

She told United Press International in Damascus that while there were no plans to permanently settle Palestinian refugees, "some live in difficult conditions, especially those from Iraq and who are stranded on the Iraqi borders" with Syria and with Jordan. The UNRWA chief noted her agency and the U.N. high commissioner for refugees have requested third countries to grant refuge to Palestinians from Iraq.

............Why is the US the only one offering to accept Palestinians.....could the rest of the world know something about Palestinians that the US doesn't?........

.....i vote with the majority on this one.....

This is a bloody, screaming outrage. The USA is demonized from one end of the Dar-ul-Islam to the other for the plight of the Falastin Arab, but how many have the Muslim states taken in? Of those on their territory, how many, even after three and four generations, have been given passport-holding, voting-rights, no-questions-asked property rights, etc. citizenship?

Somebody has to scream in the ears of Nouri al-Malicious that it is high time that Iraq naturalized its Falastin Arabs. After all, there are well over 130,000 ex-Iraqi Jews and their more numerous descendants who are no-questions-asked Israelis at this points (and Americans; depending on country of residence).

What an outrage.Palestinian savages have no business being allowed into the United States. Why aren't their Arab and Muslim brothers taking them in? There is a good reason why people don't want Palestinians.

NO. Nein, Nyet. Nem. nei, ne, нет, nej, όχι επιφ, Nuh uh. Never.

Not here, not now, not ever.

US out of the UN. UN out of the US.

DUBYA: A LYING SACK OF SHIT!

Don't you hate it when you hear the Idiot-in-Chief saying that the Iraq war keeps the terrorists from following us to our shores??? How about 7,000 Paleostinians coming to the USA as collateral for the damage we've caused in Iraq? Yeah, it's all our fault.Folks, this is proof, that the Iraq adventure is harming (not helping) our safety from the Muhammadans. Dubya the Dhimwit! A liar! A cynical, lying sack of shit.

Am I surprised? Not in the least.

Coming soon, to a city near you:

JERUSALEM - Israeli authorities on Tuesday said they have arrested 19 Palestinian militants for planning to set off a huge car bomb in Tel Aviv over the Jewish holiday of Passover.

One Sirhan Sirhan wasn't enough?

Sirhan Sirhan assassinated the killer of Marilyn Monroe....

exsgtbrown-

I think Monroe's doctor's nurse finally admitted that the doc gave MM a strong barbituate suppository which was the most-likely cause of her (accidental?) overdose.

Let's not excuse a political murder with a rumor.

Plus, RFK was fatally-shot from the rear, at a distance of 2 or 3 inches away from his skull, while Sirhan was firing from the front, and came no closer than a few feet away.

An armed security guard, walking just behind Kennedy, with known mob ties, was implicated in the actual (accidental, during the hysteria?) killing (Sirhan apparently only wounded RFK), but the case was never pursued (for whatever reasons, and the mystery remains unclear).

May I suggest Crawford, Texas.

Yesterday a few people urged to Hugh that the U.S. will end up taking in Muslim refugees from Iraq, especially if the U.S. withdraws prior to stabilization and a civil war rages unchecked. And now suddenly we are indeed about to take in seven thousand, unless we can stop it. Hey, what's seven thousand here and seven thousand there in a country of three hundred million, right? But how easily that seven thousand could become more than a hundred thousand over the next decade if there is a humanitarian disaster following upon immediate American withdrawal from Iraq. And even among a mere seven thousand Muslims, about seventy can be counted on to have an interest in personally engaging in terror, another five hundred or so will likely be interested in supporting those seventy terrorists morally and in other ways, and about three thousand, even if they don't support terror, will be in favor of Islamic law. And if past experience is any guide, virtually all of the remaining half of the seven thousand will be passive in the face of the terror and totalitarian mindset emanating from their own community. Numerous polls, around the world, show that such percentages are roughly the ones that prevail in Muslim communities. (And didn't a recent poll find that about half of Muslims worldwide support Osama Bin Laden? Can we afford to let in three thousand five hundred people who feel sympathies with Osama Bin Laden?)

Unfortunately, as Robert Spencer has often pointed out so incisively, currently there is no sure way to distinguish "moderate" Muslims from "radicals," and that puts any screening mechanism for immigration in doubt, though screening is better than nothing.

None of this necessarily means that Hugh's strategy of immediate withdrawal from Iraq is wrong, but it does mean the Iraq refugee problem could be huge enough to put the strategy of immediate withdrawal in question -- unless you don't mind having the country flooded with more Muslims. A continuing policy of Iraq stabilization might be better from that perspective.

I'm all for diversity. Bring in non-Muslim Africans, Chinese, etc., to my country. But until something changes drastically, I believe Muslims should be kept out as much as humanely possible, because their presence brings with it the cravings that a substantial percentage of them have for Islamic law. Such cravings too often entail threats of physical violence to any public person who questions or criticizes the Islamic line, and creeping discrimination against atheists and non-Muslim religions.

If there were ten million rather than a billion-plus Muslims in the world, one could afford to be more tolerant of more of them coming to the West, but as things stand and given their rates of reproduction, the danger is too great. Already in Europe many countries, under current demographic trends, will have Muslim majorities before the end of the century. But even a five percent Muslim population begins to undermine freedom of speech and religion.

Completely on topic. Birkhead is the father. Hooray!

Insanity.

What about the more than 7000 French Jews seeking asylum?

Did the US offer these French Jews refuge yet?

These Arabs should be settled in Jordan, preferrably on the Iraqi side of the border, far away from Israel, or these Arabs should be kept in other Muslim countries.

The US should avoid the influx of Muslim people, who would only cause the deterioration evidenced in Europe, by immigrants, immigrants who anyhow have no wish to partake in the benefits (or obligations) of democracy and in the features of life in spiritual freedom. They will never integrate. On the contrary, Muslims will make life miserable for the rest of the Americans.

There is a place that was taken away expressly from the Jewish people, in order to harbour Arabs. This place is called Jordan. The English even designed it to be "Judenrein".

The League of Nations granted all of the Land of Israel as a Jewish Homeland, and that land includes not only the tiny sliver of land which Israel is composed of today, but also the so-called "West Bank" of the river Jordan, as well as the vast "East Bank" which makes up the Kingdom of Jordan today.

It was unfortunate, that the British decided to virtually decimate the land of Israel, lopping off the lands to the east of the river Jordan, creating a Kingdom of Jordan on Jewish land, exclusively for Arabs. In addition, the English decreed that Jews would not be allowed to settle in that part, in Jordan. This was done in a time when millions of Jews were frantic to escape murder in Europe, and eventually millions were trapped and killed in Europe.

And now, after all this, Arabs claim it is not enough, they need to resettle elsewhere? and they seek asylum in the US? are you kidding!

"Unfortunately, as Robert Spencer has often pointed out so incisively, currently there is no sure way to distinguish "moderate" Muslims from "radicals," and that puts any screening mechanism for immigration in doubt, though screening is better than nothing." posted by Traeh above.

Exactly!!!

If we are gong to take refugees from Iraq, it should be the tens of thousands of Chaldeo-Assyran Christians that have been forced out of their ancient homeland by the US-imposed Islamic regime.

As for the Palestinians in Iraq, the same principle should apply...
Christian Palestinians Yes!
Muslim Palestinians No!

Canada with her open arms can take them. Send 'em to the Belcher Islands! Keep them confined on islands, and ones that are so cold that they won't have time to worry about killing infidels.
