I recently had a conversation with my mother's physician, a Hindu originally from India, who asserted that the Muslims there are, in general, less zealously Muslim than their co-religionists in Pakistan. This would tend to corroborate what ZWP asserts, but do you agree? Thanks for replying.
What's disgusting about the Hyderabad mosque blast is that it's on front pages of all the western media for over 24 hr now. When a church, synagogue or a Hindu/Buddhist temple get bombed, no reports anywhere. I guess that's business as usual so it's not really worth reporting.

Robert will have a better answer on the relative levels of religious observance in India versus Pakistan, but another aspect that might affect this case has also shown up in Thailand, and elsewhere: Committing violence against Muslims or Muslim property in hopes that someone else will be blamed for it (including things like human shields, and Hizballah's tactics against Israel last summer).
I wonder how much the jihadists were hoping that Hindus would be automatically blamed in the aftermath of the attack, igniting tensions that would have spun out of control by any point at which the real culprits were found out.
This is not about Muslim enough. This is about fomenting a civil war on India's right flank.
Now who would benefit from this Hindu nation having 2 radical terrorist nations in Pakistan on it's right and Bangledesh on it's left flank, but Islamocommunists who are in the process of taking over Pakistan.
Now in world chess who would benefit from India being under attack and pinned down, but their friendly neighbor to the north in Communist China.
All of a sudden no economic resources are flowing into India due to being unstable and therefore China keeps it's control of the manufacturing market and with India in turmoil it's nuclear arsenal offsetting China is negated.
Iraq is designed to pin America and then cause America to withdraw. Bangledesh is designed to destablize India. What better place for Islamocommunists to hunt than in the lazy back waters of Islamic sheep who are peaceful.

You must admit, Indian Muslims have not been as zealous as their counterparts in the Arab world or even in next door Pakistan and Bangladesh. And looks like some people don't like that and want it to change.

As far as being pinned or penned in Iraq is concerned, it is of our own making. We had the opportunity to pack up after Saddam was handed to the Shiite courts. It would have been a victory and we could have some popcorn and watch the show. Iraqis would be murdering Iraqis, and would be too preoccupied with that endeavor. If Iran gets too aggressive, I cannot imagine the world wide Sunni majority tolerating that upstart Shiite fireplug wielding any influence at all.

The idea that Indian Muslims are any more moderate than Pakis or Bangladesh is about as fanciful as the myth of moderate Muslims. The only thing is that being outnumbered 1:3 by Hindus, they tend to behave, although there are enough cases in India where 'communal' riots get started by them, typically leaving calf heads in front of temples, stone throwing on Hindu religious processions, etc.
This particular bombing seems to have been aimed at inspiring local Muslims to riot against Hindus. The exposure that this was Bangladesh inspired seems to have put the kabash on that - for the time being.
The muslims were making these devices in the armoury, er, I mean, the mecca mosque at Hyderabad when one of the things meant for infidels went off during the manufacturing process. It was namaz time and the mosque was crowded and so a few of the jihadis died. The police have recovered 2 live such devices from the place and the imam of the mosque himself has come forward to give the cellphone that was "recovered from the remains" of one of the bodies. The cellphone is from bangladesh, therefore the bomb must have been planted by the jihadis of bangladesh. So we have this article at JW.

If I had any sources, I would have put them up here. We only have a lot of facts that have to be pieced together to make a picture.
1. There are regular incidents of mosques blowing up. (I myself have made several posts regarding this)
2. The bomb went off inside the mosque, amongst thousands of people. I saw the footage, it seemed like a sea of muslims. The fact that only 5 died means that the bomb makers were somewhat seperated from the crowd in the mosque courtyard.
3. Two live devices were also found nearby.
4. Do we expect the MSM to print such news ?
We just have to draw our own conclusions.

Though Arjun's take may not be off the chart in terms of possibility the probability is more of what 'Infidel Pride' has mentioned. This blast in Hyderabad is very similar to what has happened in Malegaon in Maharashtra a few months back. Investigation agencies found the footprint of a local Muslim group(SIMI)and external agencies like HUM/LeT as jointly responsible for those. The thinking within India is that the Jihadis are tired of the muted reaction of Hindu groups on bombing of temples(last one in Benares)/institutions(parliament)/trains etc., and they want to try and provoke a larger conflagaration and are using their best shot. They(the terrorists) were not completely wrong as the reaction of the crowds out of mosque showed--the mobs tried to burn shops/gas stations around the mosque and were thwarted by a quick thinking police officer who ordered shooting down the arsonists which stopped it dead on tracks(different issue that the guy who did this is on the mat--the chief minister of the state washed his hands off of this guy saying the police firing was a mistake!).
