Christian arrested for being in Mecca

Mecca should be nicknamed The Apartheid City. Discrimination against Muslims is racism. Muslim discrimination against others is religion. "Non-Muslim Overstayer Arrested in Makkah," by Zainy Abbas for Arab News:

MAKKAH, 21 May 2007 — A Sri Lankan Christian was arrested in the holy city of Makkah, which is off-limits to non-Muslims, by the Expatriates Monitoring Committee in Makkah.

The authorities were able to verify the identity of the man, who had claimed he had overstayed his Umrah visa, by running his details through a new fingerprints system.

Nirosh Kamanda had arrived in Dammam to work as a lorry driver and had fled his sponsor to sell goods besides the Grand Mosque in Makkah. The man’s sponsor denied he knew where the man was working.

He said, “He fled six months after coming to the Kingdom. I have no idea how he reached Makkah.”

After his identity became known, the man admitted he was Christian and that he had come to Makkah to earn money. “I heard that Makkah is a safe place, where I could hide my identity,” he said.

Col. Suhail Matrafi, head of the department in charge of Expatriates Affairs in Makkah, compiled a report about the case and presented it to Col. Ayid ibn Taghalib Al-Lukmani, the head of Makkah’s Passport Department. Al-Lukmani has ordered the man be sent to Jeddah.

“The Grand Mosque and the holy city are forbidden to non-Muslims,” said Matrafi. “The new fingerprints system is very helpful and will help us a lot to discover the identity of a lot of criminals and overstayers,” he added.

Islam…the religion of tolerance.

All this Sri Lankan has to do is to steal something. Then the Saudis will chop off his hands and he'll have beat the fingerprint system!

That'll teach 'em!

mecca. "The Forbidden City".

Perhaps the immigration answer for the U.S. is simply outsourcing enforcement to the Expatriates Monitoring Committee in Mecca. I certainly don't agree with their methods, but at least they're aware who is in their cities.

America, Austrailia, Uk, and other countries should be off limits to Muslims....two can play this game...

There are mosques in Jerusalem and Rome, synagogues in Rome, and Catholic churches in Jerusalem. I will consider Islam tolerant when a church and a synagogue are both opened in Mecca.

I might think about Islam being peaceful when the Muslims stop killing innocent people every day....

Serious question. I know why Muslims from various countries emigrate to the Gulf. But why do Infidels bother - just the cash? I mean, there's no freedom to do anything, the entire region is pretty dull (unless one's idea of fun is 24 hours at the mall), and non-locals are second class residents to start with. The narrower version of this question is what is a SriLankan Christian doing there, but why would non-Muslim Sri Lankans, Filipinos, Indians or anybody want to go there?

speaking of Apartheid, just where does Nelson Mandela stand on the Bad treatment of Non Muslims by Muslims....

Can't we rename the infidel world "The Holy West" in which no Muslims are allowed?

What's good for the camels is good for the apes and pigs.

I wonder where he stands on Muslim on Muslim violence. Taliep Peterson was assassinated in his house in Cape Town. Hands tied behind his back and a bullet to the back of the neck. He had received death threats previously apparently concerning his involvement with the Afrikaans Idols TV program.

"He who leaves his Islamic religion, kill him"

Thats what it looks like to me.

also...

If you scroll to the end of the link below you will see that IPCI has a City of Johannesburg letterhead with an image of Mandela which infers that Nelson Mandela is thanking IPCI for a donation of "Holy Quran's" to the council.
Achmat Dangor is the caretaker of Mandela's image and I believe it should only be used in connection with the Nelson Mandela Foundation, but I am sure that the "Religion of Peace" is not too concerned about this.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: DONATION

Please accept my heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation of 120 copies of the “Holy Quran” as well as 120 copies of the publication “Ubhaqa”.

The copies were distributed to ANC Councillors in the City of Johannesburg on Friday 14 November 2003. Most of them expressed profound gratitude for generous gesture. There was also a keen interest in learning more about Islam, especially from its authentic source “The Holy Quran”. The Executive Mayor of the City of Johannesburg, Councillor Amos Masondo, commented on the importance of each household having a copy of the Quran, to refer to especially with the negative media portrayal of Islam.

My request was made to you at very short notice. The professional manner in which your team handled it and the prompt and efficient service made it possible for Muslim Councilors to share the spirit of Ramadaan with our colleagues. May Allah (SWT) bless you for your efforts and give you the ability to counting to propagate His word.

Islam in its pristine purity is a solution to many of the challenges facing South Africa today. I pray that with this gesture, the hearts of some of my colleagues are touched.

Why not just make this wonderful tolerant city unaccessable for all - simply bomb it out of existence. BOOM.

“The Grand Mosque and the holy city are forbidden to non-Muslims,”

So should "the west and all it's cities are forbidden to muslims"

It will be very interesting to see what will happen to the unfortunate Nirosh Kamanda, whose only crime it basically trespass.
What penalty does the oh-so tolerant religion of peace decree for this?

Don't the Tibetans have a city forbidden to nonbelievers? I also think I heard that there's one in East Africa.

Too bad we don't reciprocate on the non-mOslem bit.
The citizenry would be all too happy to enforce it.

JUst what is it in Mecca that the Muslims fear Christians may find out?....

What if we arrest Muslims for being in Paris? or Oslo? or London? or Madrid..

...we could use Muslim logic and simply say "You are undesireable and must leave immediately and do not come back."...You are unworthy to share what is ours...

Ban Muslim immigration now...

Only muslims are allowed to discriminate. Western world should stop permitting building or mosques funded by Saudis till Churches are permitted to be build in Saudi Arabia.

Replying to Matt A Moros - Lhasa, the Tibetan Buddhist capital and sacred city, was (I think) offlimits to foreigners at one stage...there was a French woman explorer who disguised herself as a native Tibetan in order to get into Lhasa (rather like Robert Burton disguising himself as an Arab Muslim to get into Mecca and see the Kaaba).

Certain tribal religions have or have had areas that are restricted to men-only, or women-only, or initiates-only. Catholicism and Orthodoxy have single-sex religious houses from which the other gender is barred - e.g. Mt Athos in Greece. Very religious Jews avoid the Temple Mount for fear of accidentally walking on the spot once occupied by the Holy of Holies which was only ever entered by the High Priest once a year.

But of the current world religions I think only Islam still totally excludes non-Muslims from the central meeting point of the religion i.e. Mecca and the Kaaba, and also prevents worship houses of any other religion from being built in their 'sacred land', Saudi Arabia.

At mosque open days, there's a good question to ask - 'that's all very nice about the hajj, but I've heard that any non-Muslim caught inside Mecca runs the risk of being killed. Is that true?' Or, say, "I've heard that if you're a Christian working in Saudi Arabia you're not allowed to bring a Bible with you into the country, or say prayers out loud even inside your flat, or sing a Christmas carol with your friend at dinner. Is that true?"
