The Indian Army rebuilt shrines and mosques. Was the Grand Mufti of Kashmir grateful? Absolutely not: non-Muslims can't fund mosque construction -- that would be un-Islamic. In fact, he thinks it's a conspiracy against the Muslim community! Outlandish? Not from his point of view. This is how hearts-and-minds initiatives are understood all too often.

SRINAGAR, MAY 28: The Army's drive to renovate Muslim shrines and mosques in the state has run into a roadblock with Kashmir's Grand Mufti Bashir-ud-din issuing a fatwa against it. The Mufti has asked Muslims to repay the Army before going ahead with prayers in the renovated shrines. The fatwa has also been endorsed by the state's Muslim Personal Law Board and Nudwat-ul-Ulama, a body of Islamic scholars."Islamic shariat does not give non-Muslims any role in the renovation of religious places. So the Army's funding is un-Islamic," Mufti Bashir-ud-din, who is also Chairman of the state's Muslim Personal Law Board, told The Indian Express. "I call upon Muslims to boycott these shrines. They can be made worthy of prayers only after they repay the Army the amount it has invested."
The Mufti said the fatwa was necessitated by the persistent demand of the people. The fatwa, which came after day-long deliberations among imams and religious scholars, termed the Army's programme as "contrary to the tenets of Islam and a naked interference in the religious affairs of the Muslim community".
"I, in my capacity as Grand Mufti of Jammu and Kashmir, appeal to all Muslims in general and Islamic clerics, scholars and imams to resist the Army's plans tooth and nail," a statement issued by Supreme Court of Islamic Shariat, an Islamic religious body headed by the Mufti, said.
However, the fatwa clarified that there was no intention to obstruct the Army's Sadhbavana programme. "The Army can limit its activities to civic programmes. We think the Army's investment in Muslim religious places has a political dimension. Such steps are nothing but a conspiracy against the Muslim community and shall be resisted with iron hands," the Mufti said.

Maybe are muslims just afraid that renovation may actualy restore original purpose of a temple. And if you are a muslim, you would certanly dislike to see mosk turning to pagoda, synagogue, or a church.
If Afgahni muslims would be so ungrateful they could save us a whole lot of money by rejecting the project (written about here 2 weeks ago about U.S. Naval Commander E. Fernandez) to build 2 super madrassas with our tax dollars in Afghanistan.

If opposition parties weren't so busy opposing Christians, then they could win the Lok and Rajya Sabha, and the PM position, and kick some serious ass. But that won't happen. Besides, most Indian politicians care only about making money for themselves.

Memo to the US - drop that idea of rebuilding the Shia Samara mosque - or any mosque anywhere for that matter.
So there you have it. The shariat allows no role for non-muslims in the building of mosques. It follows that granting planning permission to build a mosque, would be un-islamic. In fact, such permissions granted to build mosques in this country, are un-islamic. All mosques built in the West, are therefore illegal in islamic terms, unless ofcourse the planning committee was made up of muslims only.
This is yet another example of the musulmen engaging in SELF-SEGREGATION. Apparently, us INFIDEL DOGS are not only unclean, even OUR MONEY is unclean.

The same thought I have been having for the last few days. Before one engages in mass murder of human beings, it is necessary to dehumanise them. Islam and Muslims have been doing this for 1400 years, and thus engage in mass murder of Infidels without a qualm.
The Indian Army did this damage under the racist bigot hindit illegal government before the current legal government of India.
They don't want the Indian Army-built mosques? That's too bad. I guess the army will just have to demolish them.
And bill the Muslims for it.
