Two points:
1) Note that even here as we discuss that 26% of Muslims aged 18-29 support "suicide bombings," the question asked was actually more specific, which thankfully eliminates the potential confusion of the phrase on its own (bombing of whom? the military enemy during a war?). No. The question is very explicit about bombing civilian targets:

2) The truly frightening stat that few people are discussing is that a full 40% of US Muslims do not believe Arabs were responsible for 9/11. This after Osama bin Laden claimed responsibility for it (http://www.cbc.ca/world/story/2004/10/29/binladen_message041029.html). This after Al-Muhajiroun set up a conference to celebrate the "Magnificent 19." http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=34223 Who do they think did it? The Zionists? The Bush administration? Now that's truly scary.
As, I believe, Robert has mentioned, the poll also fails to question Muslim attitudes with respect to the adoption of Sharia law. Another failure of the poll is that it fails to query attitudes with respect to hatred of Jews/Israel. Although this question is brought up obliquely -- "16 percent say that the rights and needs of Palestinians cannot be taken care of as long as Israel exists." Now, just what does that imply? that the "remedy" for 16 percent of "American" Muslims is the destruction of the state of Israel? and that's not antisemitic?
And about the rampant adoption of conspiracy theories to "explain" 9/11? As Fjordman points out, Islamic "culture", in general, expresses repeatedly a rank disregard for "truth." The majority appears to be indifferent to such fine points as "truth" -- truth or the lack thereof is not a big deal (that's why Islam and Science are oxymoronic.)
The leftists of the mass-media will never owe up to their one sidedness. Anything that is positive whether occurring within or outside of America is ignored. Now, negativity is another matter, especially when it comes down to Bush and company. A negative regarding Muslims, be they American or otherwise, is a definite no, no.
They are adroit, quick at the draw to vilify Christianity, Judaism, one’s conservatism but not Islam. Perhaps, they are fearful of a backlash from the Muslim community. After all, Islam is not a body which takes criticism lightly; proven during the cartoon riot fiasco some time back.
However, they are a cowardly and biased lot in the media. However, their choosing to ignore our home-grown Jihadists or wannabes is rooted deeper within their seditious psyches.
Simply, they loathe their nation, democracy and, of course, the constitution; more so they are bent in lending a hand to our enemies. The left is up to its ears with vitriol and loathing of those whom are even a tad right of center. Not unlike Islam, they possess no tolerance of diversity.
This may seem to wide a brush stroke, as I am certain there are liberal, er leftists, who love America… as many as there are Islamists. To me, they are one of the same. A tad too harsh, not for me, they will not be “content” until the America of yesterday and today is dismantled.
We, the right of center, are the, true, enemy of America, not Islamist radicals, in their perverse mindset.
I arrived in the US from the Soviet Union on June 20, 1982 with Israel's guns in Lebanon providing the glorious soundtrack. I thought how symbolic it was: here I am, flying to freedom, and Israel, an outpost of freedom fights the forces of pure evil. It did not take me long, however, to loose my rosy shades. The only explanation I came up with that the journalists are afraid of the terrorists. I was proven right 2 years later when I read the memoirs of the cowardly buffoon, Thomas Friedman of the New York Times who admitted that all of his "reporting" was censored by a PLO terrorist Mahmoud Labadi who would order Friedman to report to his office for a "review" of his articles. Friedman would spend the night in terror, unable to calm himself down to sleep, and show up the next morning in Labadi's waiting room, pale and almost fainting from fear and lack of sleep. Once in the office accross the desk from Labadi, the terrorist would through copies of Friedman's articles on the desk before the faint-hearted author. An ominous minute of silence would follow, then, to Friedman's great relief, Labady would term his writings "OK", then suggest ways for "further imprivement".
Fast-forward 24 years: 2006, Lebanon II, the same place the same disgrace. CNN's Nic Richardson admitted all his war "reporting" was "stage-managed" by Hezbollah. And he is the most honest one! ABC's Peter Wright is the worst. He actually appeared with his Hezbollah minder, fawning all over him.
Not sure who the bigger threat to Western civilization is ,the Islamists or the Western Media ?

The fact that over a quarter of young Muslim men in America support suicide bombings should worry everyone, even reporters at the Washington Post or those in the newsroom at ABC. Those young men are also the ones that would DO the suicide bombings in malls or schools across America. So what if 30% of Muslim women, age 70 and older, might have responded favorably to suicide bombings? There would only be a remote possibility that a woman in that group would commit such a act. A 22 year old Muslim male is far more capable of carrying out an action that he approves in theory.

Here in the US & Europe, the so-called "free, independent" media are censored by every terrorist group, by every street gang in Beirut, by every cutthroat in the streets of Nablus. The unforgettable TV imadges of Palestinians dancing in the streets on 9/11 were only tip of the tip of the iceberg. There was a lot more footage, but the terrorist PA "police" telephoned TV crews and ominously warned that they "cannot guarantee their safety" the next time they show up in the "Palestinian territories" unless they bring back the videos and surrender them. The "reporters" slavishly complied. Little thuggery goes a long way with our cowardly "journalists". Just one threat, and an entire multi-billion dollar TV News network, with all its state-of-the art technology, its glam "News-Stars", everything, is totally enslaved and obediently serves as a thug's propaganda. Who wants to end up like Daniel Pearl? A TV network hires a Lebanese or Palestinian "fixer" from the street, an Adnan Hajj or a Talal Abu Rahme, and the fixer instantly becomes the boss, free to manufacture "Hezbollahwood" or "Palliwood" forgeries which the cowardly network obediently feeds to the masses as "news". Thank God for the bloggers! At least during Lebanon II war last summer, bloggers caught the media on the Photoshop mischief and other hoaxes, but during Lebanon I in 1982, there was no Internet, so the media cowards lied away to us with impunity, enormously aiding the Global Jihad.
Robert, you are well-established in the book business. How about writing a hard-hitting book exposing the medias cowardly collaboration with jihad? Naming names, citing specific instances of false jihad propaganda by MSM? Here's my suggestion for its title: "Cowardice: The Enslavement of The Western Media by Jihadists". If you think you can use it, feel free to do so without any reference to me: I give you full rights for it. Pyotr Brinsky, one of the most effective Soviet Partisan guerilla commanders who fought the Nazi occupiers of Soviet territories wrote that the key to his successes was "paralyzing the enemy's organs of self-government", i.e. terrorizing local Nazi collaborators into either quitting their positions or to secretly work for him. Now, I don't suggest that you strafe the New Duranty Times with a PPS machine gun, but how about taking on all those Quislings with a bomb of a book?

Much has been made of the finding that 28% of Muslims surveyed don't believe Arabs were responsible for 9/11. But only 1% said they believed "Israel/Jews" were responsible. (Seven percent said "U.S. government conspiracy/President Bush," which we're guessing is par for the course for a group that went more than 70% for Kerry.)"
The conclusion was positively laughable:
"But if it can be said that "it takes a village" to make a terrorist, the U.S. enjoys a measure of safety that our European allies do not. It is a blessing we will continue to enjoy as long as we remain an upwardly mobile, assimilating--and watchful--society."
First, being safer than Europe is a blessing?
Second, how do we remain a "watchful" society if we don't watch the Muslim community and how do we watch the Muslim community without arousing the ire of groups like CAIR?
Of course, the media will spin or ignore it...
the MSM has proven itself part of the unholy alliance anyway, & is too committed to pull away at this stage of the scenario...they've been running interference for jihad, inc for a long time.

I've been watching FOX news and they've been focusing all day on the 25% of American Muslims who support suicide bombing. O'Reilly's lead story tonight will be about that 25%. It seems clear to me that FOX at least has gotten the story right.

RUSH: I was preparing for this program last night and spinning through the news, kept seeing all these news stories on this Pew study about how moderate Muslims in America are. I ignored it because the instincts just took over. I got a collection here of headlines to illustrate things that I saw last night, and these headlines seem to present a uniform picture of the good assimilating moderate American Muslim. My experience with the Drive-By Media is that once one of them reports something, they all pick up on it, the same theme -- I just don't trust it. So I got in here today and I really wasn't going to pay much attention to this, and I read a piece by Debbie Schlussel at her blog, DebbieSchlussel.com, and she starts out this way. She says, "For almost six years, we've heard the constant chorus: 'Muslims in America are different.' On 9/11, we were told that American Muslims would never commit the attacks like those perpetrated upon 3,000 Americans by 19 foreign Arab Muslims in our midst. The 19 men were different than Muslims in America, because they 'hijacked their religion,' we were told. On 7/7, we were told that European Muslims are different. We were told that American Muslims would never try to blow up subways and train stations here, unlike those in London who did it … twice, and those in Madrid who killed far more on their trains. We were told -- and continue to be told -- that American Muslims would never continuously riot in the streets, burning hundreds of cars a day, as they've been doing throughout France, going on 3 years, and violently attacking and injuring more than a dozen police per day. American Muslims are different, we're told. They're far more assimilated, far more successful financially," blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
"Well, now we've come to find out that Muslims in America are not so different from their co-religionists around the world. In fact, their viewpoints are pretty much the same as that of their religious counterparts around the world, and getting more extreme with age and American upbringing. The message of the just-released Pew Research Center study on 'Muslim Americans' is clear (if you can get beyond the biased press coverage and headlines): America hasn't moderated Islam or its adherents. Islam has made America Muslim residents more extreme, just as with its European counterparts. Wealth and education and opportunity and freedom have done nothing to moderate them." Here are some of the details from this survey. If you only read the headline, and you didn't read deep in any of these stories, this might come as a surprise to you. "More than one in four Muslims (or 26%), aged 18-29, said 'Suicide Bombing is Justified.'"
Now, lets run the numbers. What do we have, two and a half million Muslims in America, living here, break it down, whatever percentage of them are between 18 and 29, then take 26% of that. You're talking about a significant number of people in the demographic group that do take action like this around the world. "Two percent of them say it can often be justified, 13% say sometimes, and 11% say rarely." So let's add it up, 26 and 2 is 28, so 31% think to one degree or another, suicide bombing is justified. If you add to that the 5% that don't know or refuse to answer, it's even worse. So almost a third of young American Muslims who support in one way or another homicide bombings according to the Pew poll. "12% of foreign-born Arab Muslims said that 'Suicide Bombing Can be Justified Often/Sometimes.' That's more than one in ten. 10% of them don't know/refused to answer. That's a total of 22% who apparently support homicide bombings. That's more than one in five and almost one in four." Yet the headlines all last night on this story were, "Muslims assimilating in America. Muslims are moderate."
"Eight percent of all U.S. Muslims said suicide bombing is justified. Add to that the 9% that don't know/refused to answer, and you get 17%, almost 1 in 5 American Muslims," support suicide bombings. It goes even further. We've heard for a long time that American Muslims, that Al-Qaeda doesn't represent Islam, and Al-Qaeda's hijacked the religion. "More than one in four American Muslims, aged 18-29, support Al-Qaeda. 7% outright viewed it favorably, plus 19% don't know/refused to answer--for a total of 26%. Yup, more than one in four young Muslims in America supports Qaeda. One third of American Muslims age thirty or more support Al-Qaeda. 4% support the group outright, plus the 29% that refused to answer, for a total of 33%. If you can't answer an outright no to this question, you support Al-Qaeda. Of all American Muslims, only 58% have a very unfavorable view of Al-Qaeda." Well, okay, fine, but 42% do.
Now, as I say, I'm not surprised by this. None of this surprises me. The point that I wish to make is the headlines that heralded all of this, and let me just share some of them with you, thanks to the people at Ace of Spades headquarters at Pajamas Media, I guess. USA Today poll: "Most Muslims seek to adopt American lifestyle." And then they give supporting quotes. Voice of America poll: "US Muslims feel post-9/11 backlash, despite moderate outlook." New York Times and their International Herald Tribune: "Muslims assimilate better in US than Europe, poll finds." Medialine: "Pew poll shows American Muslims believe solution to Israeli-Palestinian conflict is possible." Chicago Tribune: "US Muslims more content, assimilated than those abroad." The Pew polling organization itself headlined their own story with, "Muslim Americans: middle class and mostly mainstream." USA Today's blog headline: "Muslim Americans overwhelmingly Democratic but conservative on many issues." And the Detroit News: "Survey: Muslims largely assimilated in United States." Yet we have significant numbers of them who say they support Al-Qaeda, that they support suicide bombings, they support other types of violence. So why these headlines? Because the Drive-By Media, in concert with the Democrat Party, cannot permit the American people to agree with George Bush or to understand that Bush is right about the threat that we face from Islamofascists.

I'm not surprised at all by this survey. Anybody that expected different answers, is lying to himself and trying to B.S. the rest of us. I think that the extreme leftist will always try to misinform the rest of America through its control of the press. Another problem is the one presented to our society by the people that ignore that Islam itself is the problem. We will always have appeasers.
But, what about our top military officers? What is their excuse? Most of our politicians are ignorant. Some are even stupid. Some have been bought off by the Saudi. But, our military? I expect that someday there will be bloodshed in our streets.
John Kassich sat in for O'Reilly TV show tonight and led the first 20 minutes on the Pew survey.

I prefer to avoid using "liberal" since many of traditional liberals also agree this is BS.

Consider the demographic trends: increasing numbers of adherents to "the Religion of Peace," .....and..... greatly increasing numbers of illegal immigrants, mostly from Mexico. Those pictures of "youths" burning cars in France ( while shouting "Allahu akhbar!" ) might as well be pictures of our future.
All of this will likely come to a full boil in about another ten years or so. ( *sigh* And all I wanted was to retire.......)

The Pew Poll released today states that because 80% of Muslims oppose suicide bombings that this is somehow a good thing. The fact that 80% of Muslims do not support suicide bombings is nothing to take comfort in. The 20% figure supporting these killers means that potentially over 300 million Muslims support these brutal acts of murder.
What we need to do is change Islam. This can be done by exposing the irrational teachings of the Islamic Fundamentalists. You must start with the following declaration:

This is the only way to rescue Islam from these brutal killers
