No Compulsion in Religion Alert from AP, with thanks to Morgaan Sinclair:
PESHAWAR, Pakistan — Christians in northwest Pakistan have received threatening letters warning them to shut their churches and convert to Islam, officials said Thursday, the latest sign of how religious extremists are trying to police society.Copies of the handwritten letter were delivered to two churches and several Christians' homes in Charsadda, a northwestern Pakistan town where the federal interior minister last month escaped a homicide attack that killed 28 people.
Christians have alerted police to the letters and security has been stepped up at churches, said a local police official, Ali Haider.
Police are investigating who sent the unsigned notes, which gave the Christians 10 days to convert, Haider said.
He said the letter did not say what consequences they might face if they did not comply with the ultimatum, which expires May 17....
Asif Daudzai, minister for information in North West Frontier Province, which includes Charsadda, said authorities would uphold minorities' freedom of religion.
"No one will be allowed to do it (force them to convert). Christians and other minorities are free to go to churches and temples and live according to their religion," Daudzai said.
"...Christians and other minorities are free to go to churches and temples and live according to their religion," Daudzai said...."
....and according to the Muslims the Christians can die according to Islam....
Memo to those Paki Christians - get into the Samjhauta Express (translation: 'Understanding' Express, a moronic name to a moronic carrier to a moronic policy) train, and make it into India - bail out of there. And once you are in India, do your new country a favor - visit all the Missionary and Anglo-Indian schools you can find, and teach them (school Christian authorities) about how Christians are treated in dar ul Islam countries like Pakistan. Teach them how their belief that they have more in common with the Muslims than Hindus is fictitious, and that they wouldn't have even a fraction of the rights that they have in Hindu India if their Indian Muslim pals had their way.
Something they might want to think about the next time they schedule exams right next to Diwali, but avoid doing so near Muslim holidays like Id or Muharram - which few observe. And they might want to be at least as, if not more respectful of Hindu Gods and traditions as they are of Muslim ones.
These people really cannot be helped. Bringing them to the West has been a failed experiment.
WHY does nobody get it?
"There is no compulsion in religion"
/get it? "We'll kill you if you don't."
"There is no compulsion in compulsion."

and the dhimmicrats say , " we will not be tolerant to those who are intolerant!"
that's US...
dhimmicrats say, "we will be tolerant to those who are intolerant, unless you're a Xristeen, Xoncervateev, or Joo!"
This "no compulsion" clause really means:
"No one can compel you to leave Islam."
(Not even yourself, since that brings a death penalty.)
Just as in this story, in which the imam doesn't threaten Hirsi Ali, he just explains that her words warrant her death, so too these letters are not "threatening" letters, they are not "compulsion" to convert. They are just explaining what the Islamic teachings say in regards to those who do not submit to Allah. It is more like a public service announcement.
