Very telling words considering they come from Fatah Chairman Abbas, no small terrorist himself. This from Hisham Abu Taha & Mohammed Mar’i for Arab News:
RAMALLAH/GAZA CITY, 21 June 2007 — President Mahmoud Abbas lashed out at Hamas yesterday, accusing them of trying to build an “empire of darkness” in Gaza and pledging he would not talk to “murderous terrorists.”
If only the U.S. and Israel would pledge not to talk to them either.
Addressing the Palestinian people for the first time since the Hamas takeover of Gaza, Abbas in a televised speech to the Palestine National Council, sought approval for his recent steps, such as declaring a state of emergency, firing the Hamas-led government and setting up an emergency Cabinet of moderates.
Abbas, a terrorist himself, won’t talk to Hamas and is not exactly mincing words when speaking of them, yet Europe is eerily quiet. Will the Eurodollars flow?
At one point, Abbas also described in great detail what he said was a Hamas attempt to assassinate him. He said he obtained footage of Hamas members dragging large amounts of explosives through a tunnel they had dug under Gaza’s main road — the one he takes to get to his office — and saying “this is for Abu Mazen,” Abbas’ nickname. He said he sent the tape to Hamas’ supreme leader, Khaled Meshaal, and to Arab leaders to illustrate Hamas intentions.Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri hotly rejected Abbas’ statements. “What he said was disgusting and not appropriate for the Palestinian president,” the Hamas official said. “The president has harmed himself with his words.”
Maybe Abu Zuhri “rejected” Abbas’ statements, but he sure didn’t deny them.
The question that remains is not if there will be Hamas vs. Fatah Round Two, but when.

This is an easy choice for me. I choose Israel, over both Hamas, and Fatah. Hamas will activate in the West Bank, kick Abbas butt, sieze the weapon's and whatever money Abbas leave's behind when he make's a hasty exit, with most of the cash. Hamas will then,
after a short rest, attack Israel.
Of course, Israel may beat them to it. Increased rocket's, over the border excursion's, by terrorist's, to blow thing's up, or take hostage's will/has force Israel into a fight. Israel seem's to have plan's to clear Gaza of terrorist's and rocket's. It apparently has plan's in association with the US to attack Iran. Syria is rattling sabre's on the border. All side's seem determined to
fight it out. The 'death side' will get their wish...

I still say you are wrong. Not in your heart, for we all want peace.
You are wrong in the idea that if we "just do a LITTle BIT MORE and make Israel CONCEDE jsut this and that LITTLE BIT MORE.. then MAYBE - JUST MAYBE - there will FINALLY be PEACE.
My friend, it simply won't happen.
Look at all the territories my country, Germanyt gave up - involuntarily after WW1 - and voluntarily after WW2 - so we FINALLY could have peace!!
That's a much bigger chunk than the Golan Heights, or East Jerusalem, for example!
Yet no matter WHAT Israel has been willing to give back of her JUST "SPOILS OF WAR" after she was unjustly attacked - it was never enough to sate her foes.

They make "peace" for strategy reasons and for nothing but.
They won't rest until either Isreal is obliterated [which won't happen] OR until they meet with their final armageddon.
Sad but this is how I see this. They "immigrate" to our lands in hopes of influencing Western politics for their goal is a "Holy Land" free from Jews and Christians.
Then they will launch their "final conquest" [the Endsieg, if you will] against the Rest of Us - as dictated by their UNholy KKKoran.
We may as well make our stand NOW and stand beside Israel.
Somehow I doubt that the "Jooz" will once again allow themselves to be led to the slaughter without resistance. And I commend them for their WILL!
They have made way too many pacts with the devil - including Germany/Europe and we have no right to ever ask them to make this massive mistake ever again.

Until we understand this we will continue to be 'surprised' and 'disappointed' with the lack of progress in the Middle East. As their tyrants try to tell us (over and over) they back The Strong Horse.

Yes - Israeli steadfastness has been remarkable, and inspiring. They have been in some ways an equivalent to Tolkien's Minas Tirith (Tower of Guard).
However, I can understand their bone-weariness now. I think the enormous and hostile propaganda barrage of the past 30-40 years is getting to them, fogging their minds. All those ghastly 'let's hate Israel' symbolic lynching-parties at the UN - it would get anyone down.
One thing puzzles me. Bat Ye'or's The Dhimmi (1985) does a great job of illuminating dhimmitude, and how it warped - and warps - the mind. It was published in English, Hebrew, French and Russian, thus covering all the main linguistic bases for Israel and indeed the diaspora. Has no-one in Israel read her books? Or do they not believe her?
In the Jerusalem Post, recently, I read an account of how, after the 6 Day War, the then Israeli PM went to the USA to beg LBJ for planes to rebuild the Israeli air force so as to deter the Arabs. Israel had won but they were skint - nothing in reserve. All the doors were shut, except America's. And LBJ damn near said 'No', too...When I read how close America came to so terrible a betrayal, the hair on the back of my neck stood on end.
We can't - we daren't - betray Israel, and indeed all the Jews, to the jihad monster (the Empire of Darkness - nice phrase, Mr Abbas, but it isn't just Hamas, it's you, too, and the whole Empire of Islam since its inception).
But: how do we convince our politicians? Our church leaders?
